So many newbies, so many still blinded by vp...

Love you, my dear. Any gravy spilled would require me to get on all fours and lap it up. I know it would look silly (odd) but I just LOVE gravy! ;) What you get me? Biscuits and gravy would be acceptable and received graciously. (Eyes -- keep your cotton-picking "teeth" off dooj -- she's making me biscuits and gravy -- and I might get vicious if you interrupt her. ;)) -

:) Was you hearing it with the left or right side of your brain? ;) I can't argue that point. I'm sure there have been occasions where some dear soul feels compelled to emphatically tell another dear soul that they're wrong. Passionate people do that sometimes. Welcome to Greasespotcafe! There's nothing wrong about examining (or re-examining) your thought processes. I continue to look at my thoughts (and beliefs) to this very day. Some of the things I've seen said here have been helpful in that process. Here's another saying (you can feel free to correct me if I get it wrong :)) -- "You have nothing to fear but, fear itself." Anyone who isn't willing to examine (or have someone else examine) their viewpoints seems a tad bit afraid imo. However, is it "fair game" for you to examine my thought processes and yet not "fair game" for me to examine yours? I don't get offended when it's done to me -- why should you (not you personally) get offended when it's done to you? -

:) Actually, that's not how the saying goes. Have I done that? Please show me where I have. Fair enuf. Do you know anything about the psychology of "re-enforcement"? Does re-visiting your past day after day, month after month, year after year really help you move forward? I don't see how but, that's just me. -

Ok, if you insist. Consider THIS statement: What is it about this statement that is inflammatory? It implies that anyone who has the audacity to speak anything positive about TWI or some of the leaders of the same were/are mindless followers of a ministry instead of being followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, ask yourself this question: If that is true then pray tell -- Why are we FORMER members of TWI? Could part of the answer to that question be -- Because we that left TWI believe that in fact many things that were happening was not of God and certainly wasn't indicative of being FOLLOWERS of the Lord Jesus Christ? It's insulting to any follower of Jesus Christ to accuse them of being followers of a ministry when (especially when) they no longer are members of TWI. -

aDan, I'll tell ya what. If you're really interested in knowing who Larry is I'll invite you to start a thread asking any question you wish to ask me (you can start it by copying and pasting the contents of the post from which I quoted the above). I'll respond therein. Is aDan really interested in knowing who Larry is? We shall see. Enjoy this day! -

Abi my respect for you continues to grow. I just wish you would have spoken up earlier and perhaps I wouldn't have clumsily stepped on a few toes (I'm sure the damage won't be permanent though. :)) -

If you spent less time "speaking" and a bit more time "listening" perhaps you wouldn't appear so eager to start crap with me. Think about it. :) -

Have you stopped beating your wife? You mean to tell me you're still holding onto the belief that they're manifestations instead of gifts? I really could care less. The man is dead (and for all intents and purposes so is TWI). Except in the minds of people like you. Oh! I forgot. As one is still suppose to be effected by TWI erroneous teaching (and a ministry that de-emphasized Jesus) I'm not suppose to mention the power that Jesus has to heal the broken-hearted. :) I can't imagine how any of you would actually deal with a CURRENT FOLLOWER when you have a difficult time dealing with FORMER FOLLOWERS that don't share your mindset. Thus I highlighted that portion of the welcoming to draw your attention to that little caveat. Dude, I quoted a portion of the greeting. Surely that might have clued you in on the fact that I'm aware of exactly what it says. I didn't think it relevant to bring up that section of the welcome. Fair enuf but, I assure you if I ever choose to "slap" you you'll know it. Would you care for some lip balm? ;) -

Good grief! Not another one!!!! Look bullwinkl, I haven't had the time to check out most of your posts -- yet. I usually will do that to get a "handle" on where a particular member stands on various subjects. However, it's comments like yours that makes it easy for me to not waste my time doing so. If you insist on jumping on this bandwagon -- have at it but, don't expect me to run with my tail between my legs and certainly don't expect me to turn the other cheek. I'll have none of that especially when I sense someone is just trying to "fit" in with the clique. Your turn. -

:) Well, then you should understand why I find a lot of things you folks say hard to believe. You either accept my word or don't. There ya go again cman -- making assumptions about me. I don't suppose the fact that I'm still here is any indication that those who have different viewpoints than my own doesn't impact me in the least. I'm an old pro at accepting that fact in life. Remember -- I was a member of a cult at one time. ;) -

I'm not sure what you mean by the "things post." If you mean that I don't share the same mindset as everyone else -- well -- excuse me but, I've been there, done that. It is for those who don't like "newbies" upsetting the apple cart. Never implied they weren't. To each his own. I don't remember who made that suggestion to me awhile back. I vaguely recall my response being something along the line of -- Why do you assume I haven't? I'm not angry with you either. For that matter I'm not angry at anyone. I think the topic is silly and insulting (and obviously ignores the Welcome extended TO ALL), but that's just my opinion. Does it upset you that I have an opinion that doesn't mirror yours? Tonto, this question was asked of me previously. You must have missed my answer. I've NEVER been associated with ANY offshoot. For that matter I don't go to ANY church either. -

Rascal, I would find your pov worth paying attention to when and if you earn my respect. I'm not sure that will happen any time soon though. (See how that works? :)) -

Wrong! Never implied you were speaking of ALL newbies. I'm aware of the fact that you're only referring to those who don't share your mindset. Guess your magic doesn't work on me. But don't stop trying -- I might get bored with your silliness soon enuf. -

cman, you make way too many assumptions regarding me. Plus you don't pay attention to what is said very well. Unless you don't understand the difference between TELLING Pawtucket to do something and SUGGESTING something. I'm in no position to TELL him to do anything but, I'm just as free as anyone else to make suggestions. -

From the opening post most of this thread has been an effort in insulting newbies. WHY DON'T YOU SEE THAT? I seriously suggest that pawtucket change the Welcome greeting. It's obviously bs. -

Oh, I must have misunderstood what you meant when you said: How many yrs (exactly) did it take you to "come to grips" with the darkness of TWI? For those of you who have forgotten: Welcome to the GreaseSpot Cafe! I guess the welcome mat is only symbolic, instead of heart-felt and true. -

It seems to me that if you follow through on the first point you wouldn't find it necessary to tell anyone (who you claim are worshiping and/or praising VP) to leave. The board does have a feature enabling you to put any of those you feel are being disruptive to your clique on ignore. Use it if you are so offended by their presence. Either that or speak to Paw about making this board accessible only to those who share your viewpoint (although that might become boring after while and you'll find yourself attacking each other).
