No, I haven't been. But I sure would like to. If she stays there long enough I just might make it. But they come back here at least annually so I don't know that I'll make it a priority. All the pictures I've seen have been beautiful! So much history there.

I remembered President Lincoln's birthday yesterday. Didn't know it was Darwin's. Today's birthday in my world is my niece and nephew, fraternal twins who turn 22 today. They're both hugely successful bicycle racers. My niece lives in Italy with her husband and 19-month-old baby boy, Luciano. She went to college on a volleyball scholarship and is now a professional volleyball player. My nephew works with my brother - he's the spitten image of his dad! They're both happy and stable young adults. Happy Birthday, Willy and Whitney!!!

Welcome to the cafe, Gen! I'm glad to see you're finding your way around here rather nicely! I'm so sorry for your huge losses so young in your life. That's a LOT to deal with for anyone. You're a good writer - you have my attention - I look forward to reading more.

This is wonderful news! Having had the pleasure of getting to know you a bit, Dooj - I'm delighted for you. Rummie - you're a lucky man! Dooj - Do you see yourself as a southerner? I wouldn't have described you that way altho you DO live in the south. Guess that makes you a southerner. I love you and am happy for you. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it when good people connect like that! And Dooj - I've got your back should George ever get uppity!

When I first read this last night I thought to myself, oooh, brother Jeff - you might think twice about what you're asking for there, hey. I did hear some of what was said about me and mine back after we were falsely accused by twi. I was told by a very reliable source that the family corps coord told the in-res family corps that when he touched my hand "he could JUST FEEL THE EVIL". Now I know he was a robot and he was full of turds, but he said that OUT LOUD and ABOUT ME. Of course in the context of him being the mog for the in-res family corps folk for that day and hour, well, whatever fell outta his food flap was considered gospel. Then I spoke to my former mother-in-law who had been to a garage sale in our former town of residence and was told by someone who hadn't yet been m & a'd by twi (but was about to for wearing sweatpants in his own home among other stupid "crimes against twi"), that my son and I were on the run from the FBI cause there were federal charges against us and we'd be hunted down and imprisoned for the rest of our nasty unnatural lives. So be ready dear friend - it's bound to be low and ugly and could be pretty painful. My experience has been that it wasn't worth the wait to hear. Of course your mileage may vary.

We have a winner, mr. waysider!!! Every week at church as the little kids file out for children's church we sing Jesus Loves the Little Children - at the end of which I half expect to see Ray Stevens come bounding out one door or another singing this. I shared that lil fantasy with one of our music directors and she said she loved that idea and would work on a skit to that effect - hee hee hee, I hope they get it on video of they do. Thanks for posting this song - I can't seem to post youtubes anymore. Europe, mr. w!
-
hee hee No, it ain't. It's the title of A song, but not this one that was a hit in 1970 on the pop charts.

I answered yours, then waysider answered mine and gave his turn up. Here's the next one: Jesus loves the little children

Cheranne - Here's a link for you to that letter. I dug it up so I could send it "in the original" to my pastor. http://www.startribune.com/opinion/letters/81595442.html Thanks for bringing it to our attention here!

Ah, Bullwinkle - that's what I was thinking too. But now that I see the second line I know it's Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms. I should've known that one right off the bat!!! Hear that lonesome whipoorwhill.

I know whose song this isand I can remember parts of it - just not the title yet. Is one of the words in this first line in the title?

My ex would tell you I'm a little looney (or maybe a lot) too. Exes are like that. It bothers me too that he told YOU that about Kris. I agree with your comment that reverends and people in authority should be very careful when it comes to the people they are helping, counseling, etc. I admire Billy Graham for his policy of never even riding in an elevator alone with a female to avoid even the appearance of anything sleazy (or whatever wording they used). I can't bear to watch movies that have sexual abuse scenes or enjoy books with them and that's why I haven't bought Kris' book. I think I'll go ahead and buy it even if I never do read it, just to show my support for her. This is probably about enough out of me tonite, but I've been thinking about this stuff all day and it really chaps my buttocks.

Excie - Please remember that it wasn't your fault and it wasn't the other girls' fault. Please reread this post of waysider's I quoted and Rum-man's and any other posts every day that clearly remind us that when that slimeball convinced young girls or married women bullturds like that it was an honor to meet his so-called "needs" in that way, that they/you were not always able to make those judgments. Sometimes maybe, but not always. He had a bit of a magic spell over us all - and shame on him for taking advantage of that. If he were alive today and had to answer to a judge in a court of law for even one-tenth of what he did to people by using his position for his own lusts and perversions, he'd die in prison. I wish I could take your pain away and throw it as far as the east is from the west. None of you deserve to continue feeling the guilt over what was HIS FAULT in the first stinkin place. I'm proud as can be of you for being able to speak (type) the words - I pray you find a way to let them go so you don't have to carry this guilt and shame that's breaking your heart over and over. IT'S SO NOT YOUR FAULT, not even a little bit. (((((Excie)))))))

I have to tell ya - I went to one of J&HR's parties at their lovely home. I think it was a Christmas party, maybe in 2001 or 2002, I'm thinking. Those two know how to throw a party!!! There was a terrific crowd of some ex-way and some never been way. I think I stayed til 12:30 or later - and the party was still going strong. It was a really fun time - one of the best parties I attended all my ten years living in FL. If I still lived near them I'd love to hang out with them. I'm sure that site is not their whole life. I've been to a few Greasespot Weenie Roasts and altho the way was the topic of some of the discussion it was not the main gig. Having fun, relaxing and getting to know new friends was. I imagine these folks will have plenty of fun on this cruise, too. If I were a betting gal, I'd bet that less people on that cruise will "have twig" than don't. One thing I really like about Greasespot is that we're all welcome to our own opinions.
