We're not going to get there til Saturday noon or 1:00. I woke up this morning with an intense sinus headache or some such nonsense. I've slept almost all day and feel better now than I did this morning. We're heading out in about an hour. I figure traffic will be interesting through St. Louis this evening on account of the debate - we're going to cruise about halfway and stop for some sleep, then head out again in the morning. Definitely taking care to watch for bonzai deer - hope to get more pics of some this year.

I'm bringing one, Oak - it's a pretty big boombox with dual cassette player... and our dog, Tasha - we're bringing her too

The princess and I will be arriving Friday afternoon - I'll post before we leave home - that's the best I can do for planning at this point. We'll be in a tent and are bringing a bunch of food: S'mores fixins Tuna noodle stuff (a cold macaroni salad)& Potato Chips Frito Pie/Chili Pie Burgers and brats (with matching buns) Pancake mix Bacon Assorted drinks That's all I'm thinking of off the top of my head, but we'll bring more, no doubt. I just came through that area of TN last week and the colors are really coming along beautifully!!! Can't wait to see the mountains this weekend!!! Hey, anyone hear any word from jesusfreaky as to whether they'll be at the roast or not?
-
The princess and I shall be there absolutely - we're bringing s'mores fixins and tuna noodle salad, juice boxes, and several other fine edibles that are escaping my mind at this moment. At this point I'm not sure about any others riding with us, but it's a possibility!!!

umm, coffey - it's a TWELVE hour drive - he's a darlin and loads of fun, but, did I mention it's a TWELVE hour drive? LOL The princess and I will only take up 2 seats (we may be bringing a guest, not sure yet, but we'll bring whomever we can... the more the merrier I always say sometimes... Only two shopping months til the roast... can hardly wait to see paw and everyone who manages to attend!

Pat, Is there a trick to using these links? I get a little box in the upper left hand corner with a few shapes, but no text whatsoever. I tried all three and got the same non-result. -
I just bought a Sony Dogital Still Camera (Cybershot). It came with software for making slideshows. Rascal's 15-year-old has made a slide show of the 98 pics we've taken here so far the past few days. It's great fun to watch! From watching her I believe I'll be able to do the same once she's not with me to do it for me (plus, there's a 129 page instruction book). Ugothope - please check your PT

Sure, WhiteDove, I'd be delighted to eggsit for the roast - but does that mean you're not attending the roast? Say it ain't so! The princess and I will be attending - presently planning on tent camping, but are considering a room in a cabin - will put my name and daytime phone # on the list when we return home later this wee. (We're still vacationing in FL - now that I have a laptop it's a good thing the school year is beginning soon or who knows where we'd go next!)

It's fine to me but then, I'm not one to complain

Nothing hid that shall not be revealed...ready?

Liar - I don't know how you figure you have a right to judge any of us, but since I'm in MO, I'll tell you what. You go back through the My Story archives and read mine. I wasn't sexually abused by twi, but if spiritual abuse is what you're claiming to be the expert on, I'm one with a story to tell. Not one word of my story is untrue. I don't understand what profit you think could come of your so-called challenge. Are you planning to help folks heal from their pain (if so you have a very odd way of offering help) or are you just flapping your gums to practice typing? You come off threatening and accusatory. Would you like to come to my town and what exactly is it you're saying you're going to do if someone takes you up on your "offer?" I won't come to you because I have nothing to prove to you. I know I told the truth. If you want to discuss it, you come to me. This is a free country, you can worship whomever you please, but I would suggest you think twice about your choice. Do you really believe that all the people who have come forward are liars and only you know the truth? Why are you called Liar Liar and we're not? I call myself bowtwi because I am... I'll also be at the 3rd annual weenie roast in TN. If you prefer to talk there, I would give you 5 minutes to show me why I should listen to anything you've got to say. Obviously you type and just hit the send button without regard for whether your post makes sense or not. If you think you're offering help, please read at least one of your posts and then tell me if you still think so. -
Pat - I resent the PT. Choice #4 gets my vote considering what you're doing, although my personal fave is #1. (not that you asked ME - lol)
-
Pat, I sent you a PT.

Happy Birthday, George!!!

Ana – Are you asking a question here or making a judgment? I would like to answer your question, but it looks like a drive-by insult more than an actual question. You say you have no time to see what we all say, so what really was the point of the post? Obviously you’re not interested in our answers… You said excath & rascal are so predictable as if that’s a bad thing and you managed to pat yourself on the back in that same sentence. Do you feel better now for having insulting us? Your “God bless you all” sounded more like a cussing out than a blessing to me. Would you mind letting me know which that was really intended to be as it sounded totally sarcastic when I read it. Thanks, but no thanks. Excath & Mrs! – your responses made me lol!

One bright morning in the middle of the night two dead men got up to fight. Back to back they faced each other. Pulled out their knives and shot each other. THEN... A big empty truck full of bricks ran over a dead cat and killed it. If you don't believe these lies are true just ask the blind man he saw 'em too!

Dear Belle, Reading your story made me cry - I'm so sorry for what twi did to you. On the other hand I'm so glad you found GS and are getting real support from your family as well. If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know. You and your child are in my prayers.
-
Zix - I for one get a lot of good out of GS - almost every day. I've made some great friends and feel that I'm making more here all the time. When I have a need for prayer, I bring it here and get my need met. When I have time to read in the political forums I learn stuff I'd never know otherwise. I really enjoy the birthday threads, as there are folks who never get that kind of recognition elsewhere and it's fun. I really enjoy the humorous threads and the camaraderie of the community in general. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for here and not finding, but it looks to me like you've had quite a bit of contention in recent months. Are you maybe feeling that GS has outlived its usefulness for you personally? I sure hope not, as you're one of the posters that has so much to contribute in a variety of areas. It'd be a shame if you gave up on us. Seems to me paw gave a very respectful and clear response and you chopped it up as tho it's somehow your place to critique him. That seemed to me to be unnecessary and even inappropriate. My personal opinion of course, but I feel free to state my opinions here (in contrast to what looks to me like a word-by-word chopping up of the site administrator's post). I fully agree with each word paw posted.

WhiteDove, where DO you get this stuff? Rascal and I just tried this and had a blast! Right now I see the image right behind where I'm typing this now, as if it's stationery!!! Thanks for the fun, as usual!

Happy Happy Birthday Kelly!! You're so fine! You're so nine! Woo hoo!!! Hugs & kisses!!!

I was in Junior High when Janis did Piece of My Heart. I thought I sounded just like her singing... What a tragedy when and how she died.
-
dmill! You bet I can get you a copy of that song! John Hartford's my all time favorite musician. He introduced me to his wife. She passed away six months after he did. That still blows my mind. I'll email you.
-
Such a great song! Have you ever heard John Hartford's version of it? That's one of the rare occasions I actually like a cover better than the original - if you can't find it on kazaa or something like it, I'll see what I can do to send you a clip of it...

I dunno for sure what vicr meant, but when bow jr says "WERD" it means Right on, or I hear ya, or What she said, or I couldn't have said it better myself I love this thread

Mary C - I loved your post and I got the joke about the drapes - I thought it was funny. Leads me to wonder if you got your chihauha already potty trained or if you did that yourself. I wonder cause I received a 5 or 6 month old that wasn't trained and was unable to get him to do it outside. I could walk him for a half hour and within 5 minutes of coming inside, the deed was done on the carpet. Other than that - loved that dog. I was surprised to see how much I enjoyed him, being that he was almost always right under my feet as I cooked. He was a great foot warmer for me as I worked at my desk and nobody could approach the house without me knowing it thanks to him. It was a sad day when I had to give up on him. And now to derail my derail: I've never been to Gunnison - ain't that cool!? Now whenever I finally get to CO, my memories will only be of CO - not twi-related in any way, shape or form! I like that thought.
