We came to MO a year ago knowing one family and one single guy. (We no longer associate with any of them.) We met the most awesome family once we were here. Both the husband and wife are my new best friend. The wife and I do all the girlie talk and mommy stuff and the husband seems to be the perfect big little brother for me (he's 6 ft. 4 and 13 years younger than me). They have a daughter the princess' age, one a year younger, and their third daughter is 2. We fit remarkably well together. If we don't actually see each other every day we definitely speak on the phone a couple times. We eat most of our meals together. Another lady friend has pretty much fallen into my lap here - we get to visit most every day too. Not to mention I have a few lady friends I met here at GS (& WD) that I'm close to. Reading through your thread reminds me how delighted I am with my life. Thanks for that.

I attended a two-week Advanced Class on Devil Spirits at hq in '92. Craig ran it, as I recall. Oh, I felt so very spiritually mature. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Bob Dylan

Oh yeah, Shell - THAT's what I'm talkin' about - Kailin in my arms, altho the 10-year-old K is the darlin' I was referring to earlier - woo hoo!!!

I said dunk my head only 'cause I was heading out to clean the pool - I always swim after I clean it - nothing funny there, sorry. rascal - No two GS gatherings are ever the same. No doubt this one'll have it's own pole for dancing, but that'll probably be one of the few carryovers from the others. There's still time to gather the fixins for the chocolate biscuits, but I'll gladly skip the poison oak, visits from law enforcement and above all, lost children!!! I'm thinking one of the big differences that will go down in GS his(&hers)tory will be the appearance of Miss K. If we can't bring the K-ster to the Weenie Roast, why we're just gonna HAFTA bring the roast to the K-ster!!! Woo hoo!!!

The princess and I'll be there. Heck, we're coming up Thursday to make sure we get there on time. What's this rumor about requiring manners? There ain't enough hours 'tween now and then to train her to eat with utensils! I may be way off here, but I was thinking this might be well, the Great Northern Weenie Roast/GS Anniversary Bash... Guess I'll just go dunk my head awhile and see if that'll adjust my attitude to fit all this polite company I'll be exposing to the princess at the dinner table... Woo hoo - another GS get-together - oh, YEAH!!! Can't wait to see my photographer buddy again!!

Franklin, Knoxville, Chatanooga TN Anyone know of these places? Or Murphy NC?
bowtwi replied to Dot Matrix's topic in Open
Ha ha Shell - I was thinking the exact same thing! -
Paw - Does this moving to a new server mean more or less actual work for you personally once the move is completed? I don't know much about this, but it sounds to me like that at least for the next few months you'll be working heavily on the changes. Is there still a button somewhere on this site that we can click on to get to a page where we can send donations to help with the costs of running this site? I understand it costs plenty on a monthly basis. The addition of the photo forum is such a treat. Again, thanks so much for keeping it all going.

"Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" release date announced
bowtwi replied to Steve!'s topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
The princess thinks the half blood prince is Voldemoort. I just wanted that "on record" in case she's right. -
Just out of curiosity, who are the current region leaders?
bowtwi replied to Steve!'s topic in About The Way
I saw that Joa*ne Ge*rge wrote an article in a recent way rag. Are she and Mark leaders or have they been busted back? Anyone know? Last I had heard they were around Atlanta. -
I've been wondering about you too - I hope all's well. -->

The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range. "Look !" she said. I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me." For her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale?.. Services are pending.

Holy canoli!!! I just bought a few little things this past week to put away for Christmas gifts - this is the absolute earliest I've ever started shopping, I swear it is!

Mrs. GTB - Very nice! I just ordered that book and a few others - wonderful site. Thanks so much! :D-->

Belle - I LOVE 4-square and kickball. Tee hee, when I was a Den Mother for Bow Jr's cub scout career, I used to motivate the boys by having our meetings last an extra half hour or hour for kickball - it got to be a regular part of our routine. Highway - Here's a link I found to be very clear. We raised our ropes from the ankles, around the knees, then the waist, but I don't recall ever jumping ropes at waist level, not to mention the neck!!! Chinese Jump Rope Instructions J - I can imagine your son chasing you around with one of them thar guns - lol! Chas - The kids have always said nobody has more fun than me. Ha - one of my dearest friend's 3 kids says she only comes to visit our house to play with ME, as she and the princess don't always get along very well. Z-Man - That's just what I needed, directions for making a proper rubber band gun - no doubt I'll get in SOME kind of trouble with that. But what a way to go... Thanks, Mrs. Goey-to-be, I'm going to get that book you mentioned. Now I wish I had bought a bunch of those balloon-powered boats for racing. I think I'll look for some tomorrow (any reason to eat at Cracker Barrel is good enough for me - mmm mmm good!) This jumping rope will fit right in with our new fitness plan!

I finally found some Chinese jump ropes at a Cracker Barrel in GA last night. I had been looking for them everywhere I shopped this past year, without luck. Some Dollar stores said they used to carry them, but not lately... I immediately remembered how to play Chinese jump rope (which we did by using a chair for the second kid's legs to hold the rope). The princess actually shrieked with delight (or was she laughing at me jumping around tangling my legs inside that rope? I had a harder time remembering how to play Cats Cradle, so this morning I Googled it (Cats Cradle) and to my delight, I found step-by-step instructions and I found which one tiny little step I had forgotten. What an absolute treat to discover this fun memory from my childhood and be able to share it with my Annie. I can't wait to show her Double Dutch jump rope... Anyone else play these or similar games?

We've been on the west coast of FL the last 10 days. I took some pictures today that I posted in Every Picture Tells a Story you might want to look at. Bow jr.'s girlfriend's mom had a tornado pass right over her apartment yesterday morning while on the phone with her daughter - no damage to them or their apartment, but she said some trees were busted up. This was in Seminole, FL, just north of St. Petersburg. We're staying just west of St. Pete, on the beach.

I had to go to an ER this week and found out I have a "gallbladder FULL of stones." I'm presently on vacation and will be driving from FL to MO over the next 2-3 days (with an overnite stay near Chattanooga to tour more of Lookout Mountain and visit a friend). When I get home I'll most likely be scheduling a day surgery, but I'd like to join you in your weight loss support of each other. Since Tuesday I have eaten almost no fat. I haven't weighed myself in months, so I don't know just where I'm at weight-wise. I'm eating a small amount of food 4-5 times a day for now - til I get home and talk with my doctor. Coincidentally ;)-->, I had planned on starting the Atkins diet on Monday, but that was when I thought we'd be home by then. I decided to stay here a couple more days to see how I felt and if not well, we would have flown home or if really not well, I would have had the surgery here where bow jr. and his wonderful girlfriend would have helped me... THEN, Hurricane Dennis inspired me to wait another couple days, which brings us to heading out tomorrow. (I know, some people will do ANYTHING to spend a few extra days in FL) Please, count me in.

Fabulous news! Congratulations!!!

Belle - your parents are in my prayers. We're presently in Treasure Island, FL (Pinellas County) for another day and heading to Orlando tomorrow, then we're outta FL again... Next week a group of our town's (in MO)teens are going to Jamaica on a mission trip - holy moly, I thank God that trip wasn't planned for THIS week! Please check your PM -->

I would gladly host a visit from Marvin to lovely Lathrop, MO, former mule capital of the USA, thankyouverymuch. I realize that flatstan disintegrated or somehow got lost in Lathrop, reportedly in the mail; so I will promise to either send him on to his next destination via registered mail or another post office...

Happy Birthday, Vickles! -->

Cool - I got to see mine too - and we live in a small town (pop. 2200 or so).

Thanks so much for all the good wishes - truly this was one of my favorites! We were in FL and Bow Jr. took the day off work so we could spend the whole day together, me and my kids! Who's luckier 'n me??? If I get this posted, I'll put some more pics in the pic forum tomorrow (Toby Keith concert tonite). Happy Belated Birthday to you too, Vickles! I hope it was as fun as mine was!!! -->
