  1. Hey kids! We're back from the Nutcracker and finally, my princess enjoyed it. Yippee! Her parade performance was cancelled tho, as it didn't get above freezing in time. We're heading to the kitchen to begin the cookie baking for the season. Christmas is at our house this year. Woo hoo! Thanks for posting that link for me, sudo. Those guesses were good, but nope, not Ann Murray and not Lynne Anderson. Chattydear - I'm thinking you may know her name - she sure impressed me with her Crazy! I saw her in concert this past summer (she opened for Rascal Flatts) and she can really belt 'em out. MMMmmmm! If you want to post your guess I'll admit it or say nay... Moony - Have you ever eaten at Sloppy Joe's in Treasure Island? It's at the Bilmar Hotel and we stayed there this last visit. Very nice. We stayed there because we had been disappointed with the Thunderbird and the Best Western Suites right next door there. We figured since we'd eaten at Sloppy Joe's and it seemed like a real class act then, that we would try their rooms. We had a great room facing the gulf and it had just been totally remodeled. Great place to stay. And, since I may be so bold, they serve the very best sloppy joes I have ever had. They're so big we only eat half and bring half home for the next meal, but they're great leftover, too. George - My favorite singer doing a Christmas song is Bruce Springsteen singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Of course that's tied right up there with John Lennon's Happy Christmas and Elvis' entire Christmas collection. Blue Christmas, oh baby!!!
  2. Ha ha! Sudo - The princess has a friend staying overnite and they were lying down for the night and I clicked on your link and they came a runnin' in asking what I was doing. They said that was the theme song of all the Harry Potter movies! They said it's like whenever you first start going towards Hogwarts or at the beginning and end of the movies. They were freaked out, wondering what I was doing watching Harry Potter without them. Um, sorry, but I do believe I was the one who first got Jolly Ol' St. Nick - I said something about a happy elderly somebody, I think. :D I talked with Bow jr today and I think we got my problem straightened out so hopefully tomorrow night after we get back from our big day in the city I can repost what I tried to do earlier. I'm not sure I have the concentration yet right now. Of course, Sudo, if you want to post this one for me, I wouldn't mind. I'd like to see if anyone's familiar with this version. I'm still not sure what I'm doing wrong uploading tho cause when I play that file from MY desktop it plays great. Then when I try to cut and paste it from my desktop to the ftp site it won't paste. I've tried to drag and drop too, but that's not worked either. Kathy - I sure do love you. George - I think that's a great game, but so far I haven't guessed any. I'll keep watching and see if I can get some eventually.
  3. Dave - Lutefisk, oh yeah!!! Oof-ta! That and lefsa - we called that "old people skin," so appetizing, eh?
  4. Thanks, psalmie - I had tried it yesterday and thought it kind of a dud, but that was cause all the shaking I did was a bit from side to side. After reading your reply I went back and shook that bad boy up and down - now I get it. LOL Thanks, Whitedove :)
  5. Chatty - THIS actually is the name of the link. I originally had it http, then changed it to ftp to see if that was what I had done wrong. I'll try to fix it now. Thanks so much! I love seeing all that stuff you post. Cowgirl, at least you LOOK GOOD while you're learning, eh? LOL Tape applied. Nope, I have no idea what that song was or whodunnit. Now that I think of it, you're another one whose stuff I always look at and smile. So, is it that if it's a sound file I use ftp and if it's a graphic or data file I use http? I'm really not up on the terminology. I'm just a trained monkey. I only know what I've needed to learn to do what I want to do and I always find something more I want to do, so I keep learning, errr, uh, trying to learn. I came into this game familiar with uploading and downloading sound files for work so that part came easy. I'll get there so's I can post a link and you can open it if you'd like. I really will. Here, let's try this again. (Try #4 or 5, but oh baby, this time I got a feelin"!) I usually don't enjoy covers of songs I already know and love, but see if you can tell who [link removed] is.
  6. Likeaeagle - Must be food tax, I've never heard of food tax. Sounds weird. I never have gotten to where I don't mind paying for water - that just seems so wrong, like why stop there, why not tax the sunshine. Oh wait, they do - it's called Floridian wages. Moony - Bestill my heart! Say it ain't so! I hope someone buys it and makes a go of it. Hope your mouth is void of pain.
  7. Good mornin! Well George, I'm lost. I slightly recognize the last man, but don't know any of their names. The only clue I even think I get is the first one. I'm impressed with all you can post in one picture there! Very nice. I, however, haven't developed the skill required to post a link like y'all do. But I will learn. Sudo - I thought I had followed your example to the letter, but then when it didn't work I tried to replace the http with ftp, and you can see what I ended up with. Can you tell me where I'm going wrong? Cowgirl - I don't know your song, but the title came up when I clicked on the link.
  8. Why Sudo, I believe that would be some happy elderly somebody. Woo hoo! I'm really liking this game tonight! Here's my first attempt at posting something here, thanks to Sudo's most impressive assistance. Usually I don't enjoy when somebody else covers a song I loved by another artist, but in this case I was really impressed. Can anyone tell me who [link removed] singer is? Oh Sudo, live forever!
  9. Ha ha, I forgot the name as well as directions in the year and a half since I've left FL, and I had moved out near Lakeland for a couple or few years before leaving FL. Oh well, it's a sign of life (being forgetful) - I'm thinking dead people don't forget stuff so I don't mind so much. It's actually called Sher's Kitchen. Sher's Kitchen10251 Seminole Blvd Largo, FL 33778-4202var version = new String(navigator.appVersion);if(navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer"){if (version.toLowerCase().indexOf("mac") != -1){document.write(" ")}}
  10. I feel your pain, Moony, you poor kid! I've had over $1000 in dental work done since the summer and I need another $1500 or more in the foreseeable future. I have zero dental insurance. I pray you heal real quickly from all the discomfort, physical and financial!!! :D
  11. Black flies in mud season, tee hee! You can keep 'em, but thanks!!! Yep Moony, you're right - I forgot all about the stock car races - sheesh, what WAS I thinking??? Personally, I DO miss the Friday night fish fries. I had found a place on Seminole Blvd, east of Ulmerton about a half mile I believe, named Sherrie's that had a decent fish fry, right there in Largo, FL. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember it being beer batter cod. I haven't eaten there in about 5 years, so I don't know how it is nowadays... Likeaeagle - WHEN didn't they have sales tax in WI? I lived there for 32 years and as recently as weekend before last I paid sales tax in Coloma. FL and TN, I believe it is, don't have State Income Tax, but I don't know of any state that doesn't impose sales tax. (Not that I'm an expert on the subject.) That Jeff Foxworthy sure is a hoot!

  13. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. Thankyouverymuch. Actually, it was the picture of the adult with a kid on a hilltop that made me think of the commercial jingle and I went back through the clues, which led me to the song. When I first saw the bottles or cans I thought to myself, "I prefer my beer in bottles, personally." Now I'll have to find out how to post links... Thanks for the cokes - enough caffeine to get me through painting the princess' bedroom.
  14. Hmmmm. I guessed the song, which is what played when I clicked on your link. I think I'd like to ask for a recount. The title is "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." My clue was "... If I could carry a tune in a bucket, I'd show others how, I really would!" Of course, I'll abide by whatever the judges rule...
  15. Ha! I just got that in an e-mail this afternoon and passed it along. Sure is cool!
  16. I really blew the last one I tried, but I'll bite again. I think I know this one too. If I could carry a tune in a bucket, I'd show others how, I really would! Hmmm, I'm thinking it's a song, not a tv show or movie.
  17. Thanks Moony! That was very kind of you. Here's what my Clearwater friend wrote me after I sent her what you faxed to bow jr. OMG.....Thank You! Especially for that FL moved thingy...hahaaaa!!!
  18. Well Sudo, yours is even easier than Belle's! Of course, you should have bought her a piece of fine jewelry while you were there, but it's not too late. You can find a necklace or bracelet - tanzanite comes to mind, but by now you know what she likes in jewelry... Or maybe have a temporary tattoo made and tease her that it's real... Or, you could have a pole installed in your bedroom and give her coupons for special private dances...
  19. How about a weekend with you and your brother, your mom and your dad at a favorite vacation spot from your childhood? Disney or one of the other big parks there could be a real blast with your folks - I'm thinking right now of the Osborne Family Light Display or something like that... Posing for one of those old time pictures with your parents and you could be a real treasure (heck, you could even give copies of those to your parents' siblings or their parents even...). Or a day at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, complete with a nice meal out? Or a date with his lovely daughter, just the two of you out for a movie or a concert or...? Or a "This is Your Life" episode with your dad as the star...? Just some off the top of my head. I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide! Good luck!
  20. I'm sorry I missed it! Hope it was terrific, like you!

Yikes! We bought a big set of Neil Diamond's stuff this summer. I'll be following this. Thanks, Paw!

    Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, the no-name storm - wasn't that in 2000 or 2001? Whenever it was, I believe I remember it well. It was my first time driving over the Howard Frankland Bridge in those driving conditions - I remember that when I hit the Tampa side of the bridge I could no longer see anything at all (not even enough to pull over!) and I swear the hand of God cupped the car and gently carried it over that bridge! It was a most unforgettable experience. I had come from Leesburg to St. Pete and the weather wasn't great when I started out, but just as I reached that bridge all hell broke loose. I've never driven in those rains since. That was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I lived in FL for 10 years and had never seen it like that! We moved during evacuation for both Bonnie and Charlie last year. We're coming to St. Pete for Thanksgiving next week. We were there in June for Dennis. Love and prayers to all you Floridians.
