  1. I never heard of it either, but if you recommend it I'll look for it. I'm no good at those Trivial Pursuit type games. My ex-husband and I both really just sat there whenever we tried to play it with friends back in the 80's. We just told ourselves we knew important stuff, that trivia wasn't our thing. Yeah, that worked. I did get that game Scene It and played it with bow jr and his girlfriend this Thanksgiving and had a blast. I knew about as much of that as anyone else. I looked at all your clues and didn't get it either. It makes perfect sense tho, now that I know what it is. LOL
  2. Well Ron, I can help. I'm sure it's God's way of telling me NOT to clean house today and sort through that junk in the garage. It's clear to me that God's been telling me I should sit on my duff and watch the movie "Moonstruck" with Cher and Nicholas Cage. I didn't listen to God, so he's telling you to tell me. Gotcha loud and clear. Hmm, that movie's IN the garage. I bet I can find it. I'm thinking after I watch the entire movie, your mind will be back under your own control. I'll get right on it for ya, Buddy!
  3. Belle darlin, I know it sounds too good to be true, but I'll say it again. These guys will do whatEVER YOU want them to do. So, if taking turns wearing the tiara trips your trigger, well, your wish is his command! It's all about YOU, Babe! (except for when it's all about ME) And, if you squint your right eye just so, that guy looks a little bit like JB...
  4. waterbuffalo said: "Sudo, ohmygosh!! biglaugh.gif" Hmmm, he said he was going to a dental continuing education weekend. However, I just called the hotel and asked for him and there's nobody named Dr. Sudo there this weekend. Hmmmm, I'll bet he's at pole dancing training for Heidi's Place. Nobody dances a pole as well as Sudo... mstar and dmill - Way to have our backs, guys - you're alright!

Land shark? Here in Lake Michigan?
  6. Whitedove - I read your thread title and thought this would be fun, then all of a sudden I realized that it was going to be about John Lennon's death 25 years ago. I was living outside a very small town in middle WI with my husband and baby, loving life. I was a pfal grad and attended a very sweet twig in Beaver Dam, WI. Life was very good. We rented a farmhouse that was surrounded by a cornfield on three sides with a river about 500 yards behind the house where we used to put our canoe in and go to visit our friends, whose backyard was also on the river. It was a 4.5 mile ride by car and it took 2 hours or so by canoe. My world stopped for awhile when John Lennon was murdered. I still love most of his music. My best friend was a major Lennon fan. She was devastated by his death. I was terribly saddened, but not as personally affected.
  7. Honey, what happens in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas.
  8. I'm a very new paralegal student and I'm hearing more and more stuff I couldn't imagine people doing to one another. I agree that this lady needs help. I'd be looking for the father and other family members to help them through this horrific trauma before I'd want to try to understand why and how she did this. She was able to call the police and lie about what happened, then admitted the truth to the police after they arrived. Sounds to me like she knew what she was doing. No matter how angry I got at my exhusband, or WHATEVER, I have never even considered harming one of my children. Taking the child and leaving the situation, yes. I'll be following this one to see what happens. I'm impressed with your compassion and ability to see past what she did, krys. I'm not, at this point, with the information presented here. But I'm glad you are. No doubt I'd not be chosen to be part of the jury that hears this case (if there is one) and that's okay with me. My thoughts go to the sibling. How in the hell can you process the knowlege that your mommy killed your baby brother and live normally?

    Plasma or LCD

Hillsy - I'm no expert, but my experience has been that bow jr. bought an LCD HD tv. It's awesome. He researched it and chose against plasma for the short life of them. That's all I know for sure about it.
  10. Ex70's - That was my first thought when I read Ron's post. Then when I saw the report on the 5:00 news, I thought since she lives in Louisiana that maybe there were some extenuating circumstances and was thinking out loud about what could possibly make it less horrific when my friend said that the mom was most likely mad at the dad. That's when it dawned on me that no matter what, this really is just unacceptable. Maybe 5 or even 10 minutes a day in a dryer for that mother would be appropriate.

    Another Martindale

Someone once told me there is no such thing as a coincidence.
  12. This just beats all I've ever heard. In this day and age there is just no reason to have to abort a baby. Birth control is the politically correct thing to do these days. There's really no need for unwanted pregnancies to occur anymore with the exception of rape. If she had been raped I might see it differently, but with so many people wanting to adopt, why not have the babies and let someone raise them that wants them. If I were the judge, I would throw her case out, saying shame on you and I'd order an immediate total hysterectomy. That woman is no Momma! Life's tough enough without adding all that unnecessary rejection and sadness. How can a 9 or 10 year old possibly survive the knowledge that their very life is a total accident, that their own mommy destroyed their twin and it's just an accident that they're ALIVE? I happen to have a 9 year old daughter. That statement alone (that she'll tell the kid at that age) tells me that woman needs to be removed from that precious child's life. Yeah Shell, this one and that one that put that precious baby in the dryer to die that horrific death ought to be put together, away somewhere that they not only can't have any more babies, but can't harm anymore either.
  13. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but sorry I missed it. xoxo
  14. Okay ladies, now we have a mission. Our own dear Moony is in need of a proper bachelorette party... How soon's that place gonna open? C'mon Chatty Kathy, Shellon, we have some plannin' to do. Wacky, can you organize Donner, Nellie,Chas, Hopefull and Radar and any other ladies along "your 1/3 of the country, Shell, I know you're busy with school, but I'm thinkin' you've got phone calls to make and you could pick Rottie up on your way down... Belle, can you pick up our lady of honor and bring her on up? No doubt Hope would at least want to come along for the fellowship along the way, besides, she's been to Vegas, so she could guide our tour. Y'all pick up rascal and whatwouldjesuslaughat along the way. Gammacoffey would probably be willing to drive, so she could pick up coolwaters. Jet's near enough to me that she can ride with me. And don't Kit, Dammit Janet and Valerie LIVE in Vegas? Oh wow, the possibilities are endless.... <_< I'm thinking we'd about have our own "Pay to play with a man caravan."
  15. Hey now, doncha'all hafta come right through Kansas City to get to Nevada??? What about pickin' up bo along the way? - yeah, I'd probably enjoy some "female bonding!" I wonder how many single GS ladies or "single for that weekend" we could gather up along the way... Seriously tho, I drove 60 miles through a blizzard about 20 years ago to witness my sister's performance at one of her bridal showers. This one included a male stripper. It was such a hoot watching her pretend not to enjoy the show.
  16. That's a real nice song, Cowgirl - I had never heard it before. I do like Alan Jackson! I love the mental picture I have of your place lined with Christmas lights. We've not started our decorating yet - that pesky homework has been eating up so much of what we would consider our spare time. We have, however, baked a bunch of cookies and shared them with our neighborhood, so we're at least on our way... It's been snowing here almost all day (those big fluffy flakes) so we've got a real nice covering. Fortunately for the princess, today was an "early-out" day so she was home at 1:15 this afternoon. She really loves to play in snow, the little displaced Floridian!
  17. Oh now, this is funny! That song "Under the Sea" kept running through my head and I'm thinking that's from The Little Mermaid, but I'm not really sure and I thought it might be a lame guess, but it was the only one I had, but the three feet had me confused. So, I wasn't really sure. So let's hear or see your next one? I'm not ready to post anything and am overwhelmed with stuff to do that requires my brain this week, so I'll probably just guess for awhile and then work on posting them when I have some free brain power...
  18. Holy moly, what a bunch of emotions for me, I can't even imagine actually being any of you parents of our Military. My prayers and appreciation are with them all and you all.
  19. Okay, well hmmm, My 3 Sons? No, well, uh, er, she DID say "Hurry up" so hmmm, what the hell is that second clue? Looks like mermaid feet or whatever they call it - oh darn, I'm no good at all under pressure, makes me feel sorta Winnie-the-Pooh-ish. Oh bother. I dunno. Really I don't. But I feel this pressure to try so I'll guess The Little Mermaid?
  20. Good morning, Chattydear and all. I listened to your link and altho I think I recognize that voice, I can't place his name, much less the song title. I'm wondering if he's that singer from Dire Straits, but I'm not sure at all. A trippy thing happened when I just tried to log in here. After I put in my password and clicked Enter, I got the main page for Raf's site! I went back and tried it again and got here just fine. I hit Reply and logged in as I always do, but this time I got taken to Raf's. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just thought it odd. We're off to church this morning before coming back to Christmas Cookie Central.
  21. My first try I got 593, then stayed in the high 400's. It took me til my 4th try to strike. I thought I was the king penguin batter. Reality set in quickly enough tho. I may play that one again. I'm thinking I'm a pretty sick pup myself, moony!!!
  22. You got it, Chatty! What a great voice on that kid! Heck, she's grown now with kids and a hubby, but I still remember the first time I heard her sing Blue and Crazy! This version of Me and Bobby McGee really knocks my socks off! Cowgirl - No harm done - I came in confused tonite. LOL I did think you were guessing Ann Murray to the one sudo posted for me. It's all good. Fun game!
  23. Anybody know if they're running vision quest in the midwest anyplace anytime soon? Someone I know is looking for one and I know nothing about it. Ex-way-darryl - Maybe you're aware of where one might call to find out? Thanks
  24. Ron, I'm trying to feel your pain, but I have to stop laughing first, I guess. You poor kid. It slays me how you got it together just in the knick of time. I pray you made it to the Scout Meeting and back without incident. I'd have been freaked out to drive after all that. Belle - It's stuff like that that kept me from buying a house on my own for years as a divorced woman. Now thankfully, I have a retired mechanic for a next door neighbor and he fixes my stuff for "something to do." He and his wife have sorta adopted the princess as another granddaughter, so I guess me and my broken stuff comes along. Their son does my lawn and my landscaping and they built the playset and teeter totter for her birthday this year, as well as made me a fabulous patio and stone grill!!! I can imagine your morning happening to me. No doubt my neighborhood would become a ghost-town instantly and I'd be stuck. But back in FL, I did know where to shut off the water in the front yard. It was a pain in the hiney to do, but I could and did do it when necessary. I definitely FELT your pain as I read your account there. Bless your heart.
