  1. The 5 year anniversary of the passing of John Hartford's passing is in a little over a month. I participate in a forum of his fans. There are some plans to celebrate his life and I thought this might be one some of us here would like to attend. I'm definitely going. I can't wait! Here's what's posted on johnhartford.org "The fifth anniversary of John's passing is coming up soon. I mentioned a couple months back on a post on the Goodledays forum some ideas on ways to honor John's life and his music. The one that I liked the best, and now I've got some folks interested in doing it with me, is a canoe float on the Cumberland, with the float passing by John's old house on the river. It would be the June 3rd & 4th weekend. We could establish a meeting place for Saturday morning somewhere along the river. I will research a good put in and take out. I think a 2 to 4 hour float would work well. It of course would take us past John's house on the Cumberland. We could picnic & jam during the float, or afterwards. I would want us to have a good n' loud boom box so everyone in Nashville can hear John's music. We need a recording of a steam whistle to play as we pass by his house. Those that are interested, drop me an email. I want to keep the costs down so that as many people can make it as possible. It can be a family event with kids also. I would also plan a visit to John & Marie's gravesite. I have been there, so I think I can find it without too much difficulty. I'm hoping to find a few musicians that can join us on the celebration. I am open for some volunteers to do research on a place to camp, and inexpensive sleeping accommodations. It is also necessary to find out about canoe or small boat rentals in the area. I'm posting this on my site (johnhartford.org), reeltime travelers forum & the goodledays forum. If you know of other places that are Hartford friendly such as banjo or fiddle forums, please copy & post. Bring your instruments & life vests and let's party."
  2. Coulda been worse, eh - couda been Boobie Fricken Humperdink. On second thought, I wish that were my name! It has a certain, I dunnowhat, but I like it about it!
  3. Less than a year after we were kicked out of the family corps, we found I had a benign tumor the size of a jumbo chicken egg. The doc said it had to have been growing at least two years to be that size. (That would include my wow year.) I worried like crazy until I found out it was benign that it was what I got for being kicked out of the way over false accusations of our homosexuality. I don't think I can put into words how that felt to have been kicked out over false accusations and turned over to Satan.
  4. II am now Sloopy Snicklehump - I must be related to Belle!

Very nice! My friend Sunday, who knows horses saw these pics with me. She said, "Good sign, eating !" Congrats!
  6. I hope it's a great day for you!
  7. I bought a bunch of jewelry from jade last summer - I wear it often. I love it. I bet there's more to see now than last summer... I'll have to check it out today.

    fat

Four days after bow jr was born, I was asked when the baby was due. I matter-of-factly told them he was born 4 days ago. They were embarassed. I was not. A couple years ago a neighbor "lady" told my then 8-year-old friend that I was nasty because I was fat. My dear little friend was so upset she had to call me and tell me right away. I told her not to let it bother her, that yes, I WAS fat, but I could diet and lose weight anytime I chose to, but the ugliness in that woman was TO THE BONE! (I then explained that by that I meant forever!)
  9. It was either 2 or 3 years ago. I can figure it out closer if it's that important to anyone. A GS poster, a friend of mine, received a threatening letter from a twi attorney (a name like #ary b*rns). They were ordered to send a cd they had received of pfal or something from vpw's collection to twi. They were also told to rat out who it was that gave this cd to them. They were given a time frame within which to "return this twi property" or else. It was a demanding, threatening email. It also listed this person's real name, address and home phone #. They used a screen name on GS, not their real name. I mentioned this to another GS poster, friend of mine, who said they'd received something similar from that same person, only I believe theirs came in the US Mail. These two friends of mine live halfway across the country from each other.
  10. I'm up for staying at the hotel too - I'm flexible. I think this is a great opportunity for fun! I'm looking forward to it! A friend of mine who's "never been way" may join us. I'll let you know as soon as she lets me know.

    It`s a FOAL!

Great news! Congratulations! What an exciting event! I trust Mama and Baby Boy are doing well. Happy Easter to you and your tribe! We're heading to the woods of WI to enjoy our first Easter with my brothers together in over 25 years! Still praying for you and yours
  12. Well, something's funny, that's all I can say. I just now tried to get into Live Chat again. I have been logged in each time I've tried, but now this time I got in! Of course, nobody else was there, but I was in! Then I logged out of there to come back here and report that I got in using my GS password and I had to log in AGAIN in order to post here. I don't mind, but that never happened before. Oh well, time to tuck the princess in bed anyways.
  13. I can't get in either. I've tried my GS password and all sorts of things that have come to mind, but I can't get into Live Chat either.
  14. I'm just sick enough to really enjoy this stuff!!! Woo hoo! Happy Easter to us all!!!
  15. Sure, I can easily cook something and bring it along. We do a lot of traveling and oftentimes I fix a meal or snacks here at home and bring it up to WI, so I have what it takes to travel with food. Of course, if sudo is so inspired as to entertain us with his stew, who are we to argue with perfection??? I'm flexible. I'll start looking around too for possible things to do that weekend.
  16. awwright, WHO sent the singing stripper cop dude with the flashing red and blues on top of the squad car into my quiet little neighborhood last night right after the Assembly of God church down the block let out from their Monday night prayer meeting? I live less than an hour away from Kansas City! What great luck! What can I do to help? July 14-16? That ought to give me plenty of time to select who gets to keep the princess that weekend. Yep, count me in!
  17. jkb - Please let the Peelers know that I'd also love to be there for the decision in 90-180 days. I'd love to lend physical support as well as the daily prayers I've prayed as long as I've known about the case. I was delighted to be able to meet Ron one day. He was someone I would have loved attending a twig with once upon a time or being neighbors with these days. He was a great example of what I think of when I think of a Christian man. I'm very proud of him and his wife for sticking with what's obviously been a huge and unpleasant task. Not just anyone could endure all they've been through and have yet to get through. You said," Interestingly enough, TWI's attorneys allege the Peelers knew or should have known they were being conned from the beginning!" The one thing consistent about twi is they never cease to amaze me with their insanity! God bless the Peelers!
  18. No need to look it up, Dearest Chattyone - it's Maxwell's Silver Hammer. One of my favorites. If there was an Alfred E. Newman smiley I would use it here and say, "Trust Me."
  19. I use plain ol' Purina Dog Chow. My husky does great with it. I tried it at the suggestion of my vet.
  20. Before I could vote, I have to ask at least one question. Okay, two come to mind immediately. Do males who receive a higher education at society's expense have to repay their scholarship money if they don't seek gainful employment? What if a woman chooses to stay at home while her kids are young and then she goes to work after her kids are in college? Would the government then return some of her repayment? I can see where it would seem like a big waste of money to educate someone who doesn't appear to use the education. I guess if it were stated up front to the potential scholarship winner that either they start working in their field within so much time or they have to pay it back it would be reasonable.

CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE... Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Loves to laugh. You are a friend for life. Sounds like me to me!
  22. But now I've gone and voted for Live Chat and now we're ahead (again)! I'm having a St. Pauli Girl while I vote. Mmm good!
  23. Well, having heard the specimen story, all I can say is BOTH, please!
