Moms have magic; they make you feel better without medicine. What does your mom do in her spare time? 1. Mothers don't do spare time. 2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long. What would it take to make your mom perfect? 1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery. 2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue. [ b]If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?[/b] 1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that. 2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Weenie Roast 2006

Excellent! Anyone opposed to this park? Looks good to me, especially those floating cabins.

    Weenie Roast 2006

I think the most cabins we've rented at a roast has been 4.

    Weenie Roast 2006

Ooh, act2! That sounds great - to me! I'll see what others have to say - I'm a bluegrass fan from way back. If we can find that park Hawk had spoken of with cabins and an island, I'd say that'd be the one. Otherwise, I like your suggestion. I'm glad to see some weenie energy. Ah Belle, I'm hoping you can get your mom or dad to come - sure would be great to have you!

    Weenie Roast 2006

Cool Darlin, It's THE SOUTHERN COMFORT WEENIE ROAST or something like that. I'm thinking if we're really gonna get genuine southern comfort, we need to go south to get it. Come on down, it's worth the drive. Rascal - You sound like me - I thought I'd recognize it when I Googled KY STATE PARKS. But maybe it's not a state park. wwjesuslaughat - HELP - PLEASE!!! I'll keep looking at KY parks.
  8. I recently had a dear male friend from my past re-enter my life. One thing he said that blew my mind, was that he had wondered what if he had married me instead of the two ladies he had married. He wondered if being that he and I have so much in common, even though their body types were more to his liking, would we still be happy together today? He and I were both married to others during almost all of our friendship, so I never looked at him that way. My response to him was that I can't even entertain that thought, for two reasons; He was my friend's husband and If we simply stay friends I get to keep him forever. If we risk crossing that line and become lovers and lose the thrill, then we lose the friendship. The odd thing to me is that since that conversation I've spoken with his ex-wife, who gave me permission to date her ex-husband. I told her that would be gross, I might as well date HER and that she most certainly does not have my permission to date my ex-husband. I know we're divorced way over 10 years, but it just doesn't seem right to me. What do you think?

    Weenie Roast 2006

Well, I think the one we had talked about last year is called General Burnside Island Park. The campground is on an island, but there are no cabins in this park. I'm thinking we should find one with cabins as well as camp sites. Here's a link I found. I called the phone number listed and they said they're the only park in the state with an island and they have no cabins. http://parks.ky.gov/stateparks/ge/ I'll keep looking for a more suitable park. I'm thinking Tennessee now. Please feel free to make suggestions. Maybe we should look around for a week and then decide next Friday. I think the roast is appropriate for kids of all ages. I'm bringing mine. I hope y'all bring yours, but that's up to you.
  10. I hope it's a good one, there Gramps!

    Weenie Roast 2006

The date for the Weenie Roast has been set. The place is to be announced - it's that park in KY we talked about last year, where the cabins and campground are on an island. The date will be August 11-13, 2006, pending rascal's approval. It's all definitely tentative at this point, but it's definitely time to start making plans.

    Genealogy Question

I asked a lady I know that was into genealogy a few years back. In fact, I copied and pasted your original post and emailed it to her. Here is her reply: Not much help here. I haven't done the genealogy thing in a couple yrs. And she's covered all the bases I can think of. If she has any death certificates or an idea of where people died/were buried, she could check cemetary records. Someone once told me you can also check thru Social Security because a lot of that info has to be given when applying for it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
  13. Um well, I could tell you, but then, you know the drill... Well, it was sorta like, um, well, it just seemed to me that cluster____ fit there so well. There were a bunch of asterisks, so it didn't didn't seem you were saying "mess" or "riot," and well, now you see how my mind works sometimes. It was just all real natural, you know, I moved MY mouth, MY lips, etc... It wasn't a clusterduck rhymin word? Well I'll be _____-ed. I bet you filled in my blank as I did. tee hee It's all good. Any update on the run? Are you sorry you asked? LOL

    Doojable

I know we said it in chat last night, but it bears repeating. Happy Birthday! Hope it's a sweet one!
  15. Nah Lifty, I don't suppose anyone would mind a bit. You all deserve it! I hope it's a very happy Father's Day for all of you! So, you're one of those guys with a full quiver, eh? Bless your heart!
  16. Last night I watched a firefly dance around our giant schnauzer's head while he laid lazily under the tree that shades him during the day, but it was toward the end of sundown and I made a mental note to remember to learn how to use the DVD recorder. Fireflies always remind me of happy days in my childhood. I'm pitching the tent in the backyard for a campout night this week. Yep, summer's definitely here, here in MO.
  17. Happy birthday, a little late!
  18. I saw Paul in concert last fall - he's still got it! I say 64 looks mighty good! Who knew? Happy Birthday, Sir Paul!

    The Countdown

Hey, that means we get to sing, real breathy-like, Happy Birthday, Mr. Prez - ident!!! and we'll be singing to YOU! Very nice.
  20. um, hawk darlin' - if you can post, you're logged in. if you're logged in, you might try to click on the front page just above where it lists who is in the chatroom. I couldn't log into chat a week or two ago and complained to paw about it. he kindly asked if I was logged in to the site. If that doesn't work, I would email paw. He's great about stuff like that. Have you given any thought to the weenie roast this year? If not, would you mind reminding us of the name of the place you'd suggested for the next one?
  21. Cluster-what??? LOL This is a great story! Thanks for telling it! I particularly enjoy the Norwegian and Swede references - my ex-husband is Norwegian and sends me lots of funnies about them.

    Cult list

I had a hard time admitting twi is a cult. Cult is a four-letter-word. I even was taken to a leader in the Moravian church for what they thought would be deprogramming, but I kicked their butts with what I believed the bible to say. The way was a total cult. I was a total cultee. It took me years to realize that. Once I admitted it to myself I really felt a sense of liberation. I now pro-actively keep control of my thoughts. I'm no longer a way cultee, but the way is still every bit a cult.
