She traveled so well - never an accident in the car, got along so well with the other 5 occupants of the car - she just fit right in with us from the moment the princess laid eyes on her picture Dot posted in the prayer forum. Love that tooth! You'll notice she never did get that name change to Fifi. LOL

Here are a couple pics of Sara, here in her new home. She's totally taken over - we're so lucky to have her! Scamps and Sara are really sleeping in that picture where they're lying right next to each other!

No snow to speak of here, 30 miles north of Kansas City, MO. Not even a full covering anywhere in my yard. Nothing but ice. After that big buildup it was a bit of a disappointment. But maybe I'll get out today and go to the store - that'd be a good thing. LOVE your new avatar! Wow, they closed ALL the Milwaukee County schools - that MUST be a lot of snow. Why I remember it being required to be something like below 0 degrees to get a day off for weather. We watched many a snowfall while I was sitting in classes there once upon a time... Graupel, yeah Rhino, if you hadn't defined it here, I would have looked it up. Never heard of it before. Cool.
  5. I use mine for work - I work from home. I also try to copy every cd I buy and just listen to the copies, keeping the originals in their cases neatly stacked on shelves. Music is very important to me, so I treat my cds like albums. I use my computer to stay in touch with almost everyone I stay in touch with, since just about everyone I know has one now. I pay most of my bills online. I play games once in awhile, but mostly I use it for work and social contact. I like cman better, can't put into words why, but I'm glad you switched.

Ca. dreaming - you're 50 miles north of Chicago? No wonder you're Ca. dreaming. I grew up in Milwaukee - they get real winter there! Andrew's fart machine - yeah, what more COULD anyone want when snowed in? Oh yeah, and school's already been called off for tomorrow, here near Liberty, MO (about 30 miles north of Kansas City, MO)! We're totally covered in sheet ice. Ice everywhere.

    Need Money

I have $51 coming to me from when twi m&a'd me, but the good state of Indiana won't let me have it unless and until I can prove I had American Family Insurance at that time. They have my name, my social security#, my driver's license #, but unless I get a document from American Family, they're keeping my money. I think I'll pursue it with American Family, but being that it's a dozen years ago, I don't know if they'll be able or willing to help me prove it.
  8. I tried to post this page, but all I seem to be able to do is give the link. It's worth it to go there yourself, trust me (in my best Alfred E. Newman voice.) http://www.snopes.com/business/taxes/excise.asp
  9. Welcome, motherof2 - I have 2 children myself - one I raised mostly in the way and the other totally post-way. You betcha you fit in here - this site's for anyone that's been impacted by the way, as I understand it, and you've definitely been impacted. I'm glad you're here. Ask anything you want to know - most likely someone around here will be able and willing to help you. Enjoy the fine ambience and coffee. Someone will be around momentarily to offer you something wonderful to drink and eat, being a cafe and all... Again, welcome!
  10. We have it on videotape, but I really love to watch it when the networks air it. Woo hoo! Thanks for the heads-up!
  11. Happy Birthday, Paw! xoxoxo bow
  12. I'm thankful for friends that will tell me the truth even when it's not what I want to hear or even what's easiest to say.
  13. This is Marilen, the lady we met a couple years ago when we were stranded there when our U-Haul broke down. Whenever we can we stay at that hotel and visit with her over breakfast. We sometimes speak on the phone in between visits. Yes, that's my hair she's got over her shoulders and that's me behind her with the princess looking on. Silly fun - one of life's greatest pleasures.
  14. I forgot to mention this is that Italian Cheese Cake. Not to be confused with cheesecake. It's the single greatest dessert I've ever tasted. It's the only time in my life I can remember a thin slice being enough of a taste of cake. That was what Suda treated us to after a delightful lunch of vegetarian lasagne, bread with cheese and sauce, and creamed spinach. Truly another fine hostess with the mostest.
  15. Not only that, but Sara has taken over one of Annie's comforters for her bed! It's very deep purple satin. No wonder. Sara's obviously a princess too. Any time I look for her, that's where I find her. She is truly one of us - seems like she's always been here. When my husky that lives out back came in yesterday to see what all the fuss was about in here, Sara told her off. It was priceless. The husky looked at her and then at me as if to say, "Oh brother, ANOTHER one? Alright, if you say so." And she went back outside. Sara plays with little Scamps real well. I'm so glad we went and got her! I've posted about half the pics we have from the trip in the Gallery. I hope to get to the second half tonight yet.
