It always irritated me, the general idea that women were cast as the temptresses because of what Eve supposedly did... And Bathsheba - that sl*t! She took down David! And what about Solomon's wives... Those evil idolatrous whores! And remember - God only spoke to Debra because no man had "risen up"... As if God somehow stooped to her level to speak to someone about it. But what they all forget is that the MEN in these records were RESPONSIBLE for their own actions and for KEEPING IT IN THEIR PANTS. And they forgot about how God told Abraham to hearken to Sarah... or Abigail taking care of David, or Mary who had the courage to bear Jesus Christ (without permission from her espoused husband), or how many other countless women did wonderful things for God... I can honestly say, I never wanted a man who would be the type to blame his own actions on his wife. And mine doesn't. Even my father in law (Catholic) found it very strange at our wedding that women did not handle the coordination of anything except handing out the flowers. It bothered him so much he pulled me aside later on and asked me about it... especially since he had heard we had a woman president. And check out the picture with year in review - apparently two african-americans came to a fellowship! (Or maybe that's from the work in Africa...) Check out the diversity!

Got married a while back and suddenly changed status in twi from "spiritually mature femal with half a brain" to "appendage of husband." Apparently, the salt covenant wiped out any and all spiritual perception and transferred it to my beloved spouse - Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty smart cookie who can definately think on his own, and he has the cajones to say what he thinks regardless of what color nametage he's addressing. (The reason I married that wonderful man - that and his deep regard for science fiction.) I've been thinking some about this lately, and I am coming to the realization that this REALLY ....ES ME OFF. I know this has to do with the whole "submitting to the head" bit, but seriously, folks, COME ON!! I know this happened to other people, too.

A friend of mine made a similar concoction, but with back cherries and vodka. mmmmmm.... vodka!

I like your take on this, Wolfie... It's very similar to how I see it as well. I have some experiences that at one point in my life cause tremendous pain and sorrow to think about, but now I can look back on them without the pain and hurt, and just see them for what they were. I can even learn from them, and use that knowledge to help other people. In fact, some of those experiences have only made the good things in my life stronger. That, IMHO, would be similar to being able to remember them in the next life without the mourning, the crying, or the pain.

Chas, you and I got in about the same time (me a little earlier, but didn't take the class until much later - we didn't have enough people to run it) and at about the same age, too. I began to question things about the time you got out. Guess you're smarter than me! I stuck around thinking maybe something would change... Still wondering...

Now, THAT seems to back the thought up that we won't remember the pain of this life. I'll take a good look at that verse. This seems to occur after the gathering together and the war in which the devil and death are thrown into the pit... that time period makes more sense than having this fall immediately after the gathering. thanks for the verse!

The most recent one I have seen has all the markings of textbook bad art - no knowledge of human anatomy, hands hidden from view, bad perspective - you name it, it's got it. Tried to get a pic off the website, but it seems to be down.

Excellent point - we all read the Bible... heck, apparently the "Galatians tapes" even said some of the correct things, but LCM changed the truth of God into a lie and tricked us right back into the legalism - just in a different way. That's exactly how I felt when I came to realize the smoke and mirrors techniques used to distract from what was really going on in twi. Like I had had a spell cast upon me to make me blind. I actually know from an experience back in the bygone days of yesteryear when I was very young that this is true. Living on pizza, caffiene, and microwave burritos with no sleep for several days will cause you to hallucinate. Scared the poop out of me.

In my case, I literally believed that if I ever even considered leaving twi, I may as well go kill myself before I ended up in the hands of devil spirits who would use me for evil. I literally believed that twi was in all ways the end all be all of spiritual perfection. They managed to usurp the place God and God alone should have in my heart. Yes. A healthy respect for God is necessary, and needed in order to be able to see His greatness. The analogy of a genie in a lamp fits well. And I am glad to hear you say that this fear is not the quaking kind of fear, but a "reverential awe." Before coming to twi as a young teen, I had been taught in the denominational church I had been attending that God did terrible things to people - that He sent unbaptized babies to hell, that He killed people for his own enjoyment. God became even worse than a baseball bat to me - He became a monster. By all means, please do not misunderstand me - I think a reverential awe is great... I think being terrified of an all-powerful maniac is not. I agree as well. The Law should not be completely tossed out the window... For me, Galatians has been an incredibly healing book when I read it as not just meaning the Law of the OT, but as ANY man made tenants (string the chairs, set the table the right way, don't fellowship with unbelievers, etc.) that took the focus away from the accomplishments of Jesus Christ and the greatness of what we have because of it. In this way, Galatians opened up to me in an entirely different light... The people who were leading the Galatians away from God did not do it just by forcing the Law down people's throats... If so, then what's the big deal? For me, the answer was that these people got so caught up in their works that they couldn't see the greatness of the spirit within them. If you can walk by the spirit and the example of Jesus Christ, all the law gets taken care of... as you state below. Thank you so much for your explanation, another spot... I think we are on the same page after all.

I think I understand the logic behind the idea that we will forget the sins we have been forgiven for after we have the new body, but how about those sins that were committed AGAINST us? For example, will we remember the things that have happened to us that were negative when we receive our new bodies? I don't see the logic in not remembering anything negative that happened in our lifetime... What would be the incentive to fight the devil unless we understood that he was evil and had experienced that evil for ourselves? Would we remember the fall of man as what put us in a place that we would need redeeming? Would we remember why Jesus Christ had to be sacrificed - which was our sinful nature? RainbowsGirl, thank you for your explanation of why we would not remember the terrible things we had done in our lifetimes. Thank you all for your input, this has bothered me for some time.
