You know it's hot when: You learn to steer with two fingers.

I was thinking about this the other day, and here is how I see it going down in my little conspiracy theory filled brain... take it for what it's worth... it might not be much. Ok, here goes nothing... We know that Rosie acted as a liason (to put it nicely) coercing other females to adulturous activities with the MOG(s). She knew exactly what was happening because she was involved in it. When Don "stepped down" from office, she was a natural choice for the position, especially because she had a lot of dirt on the MOG and had exhibited that her loyalty to twi was beyond question. So, now she is in this position as second in command to the MOG... And the lawsuits start. She uses this opportunity to take further control as evidenced in the depositions by taking control of LCM's free time by forcing him to submit a schedule to the BOD showing where he was at any given time, supposedly to make sure he was no longer involving himself in these liasons... This is the point where the extreme scheduling crap came into effect - which actually probably made it easier to keep the women fed to LCM without anyone finding out. So, once everything became public enough that they had to make a statement, Rosie was right there to guide LCM right out the door, probably feeding him some sort of line about keeping a cushy research job at HQ... But this wasn't the case. She had her eye on the presidency from the beginnng. What kind of woman sacrifices other women to gain power? *edited for spelling

JavaJane replied to another spot's topic in About The Way
I think someone should sit down and write down all the wonderful things I have ever said and put it in a book! It could be a book of me quoting other people... Why haven't I thought of this before?? -
Darnit, Rascal! I was hoping that WASN'T what I was reading, because that is SICK.

I think we made a poem, Eyes... Me: "makes you wonder why they call it Artillery Punch? Eyes: "My imagination flows towards "blowing" things... like chunks...

I have a question. How does "submitting to your own husband" (who loves you like Christ loves the church) equal Degrading women ? Degradation has no place in a godly marriage, or in any godly relationship between people. I don't think the whole "degradation" bit was part of the marriage vow. I didn't vow to my husband that I would take abuse or be treated as less than a woman of God when I married him. He didn't vow to put me down and treat me like a lower form of life. I think the whole "submission" to the husband as the head thing is a little from degrading women... but that's only my opinion.

Makes you wonder why it's called Artillery punch, doesn't it?

I just read that recipe again... My stomach hurts just reading the "strong black tea" line...
-
I see proof of this every day. Damn. Now I'm probably going to be branded as racist against those cavemen again... Just like Geico.

Bon Ami is also good for removing stuck on stuff and it won't scratch the poop out of your pans!

That fried apple recipe sounds soooooo good! I love apples in savory dishes. I saute them with onions and mushrooms and serve with smoked sausages. It's yummy! OK, here's one for you guys - I liked the name: Artillery Punch (from my Gourmet Cookbook mentioned earlier) Combine 1 1/2 fifths rye whiskey, 1 1/2 fifths claret, 6 cups strong black tea, 1 1/2 pints dark Jamaican rum, 3/4 pint gin, 3/4 pint Cognac, 3 oz Benedictine, 3 cups orange juice, and 1 1/2 c lemon juice. Let the mixture stand 2 hours to ripen and pour it over a large block of ice in a punch bowl. If a sweeter punch is desired, add bar syrup to taste. This recipe produces 25 generous servings. Whether or not this amount will serve 25 persons depends upon the duration of the party and the thirst of the guests. Sounds like a recipe for a bad hangover to me!

Mr. B - Have you finally gone over to the evolution camp? This is my biggest gripe with twi - not seeing and admitting that something happened and it was wrong! At least the Catholic church ADMITTED there were cases of abuse, and that they were wrong about the earth being flat. twi continues to plug along implying that there was a one time consensual affair and that they have removed the problem. Now they are working on removing all traces of the offending party's existence from their history. That is what I find the most sickening - the inability to apologize and say that they were wrong.
-
You would have to ask Mrs. B about that one... I don't think I really want to know!

You, me, and Belle... we listen to similar music, but boy oh boy, we should never all be in the same room dancing to it. It wouldn probably inadvertantly become a mosh pit! It's gotta be pretty hard to be social when you're blue, spikey, and live underwater. Don't be too hard on yourself there, Mr. B!

Too tuckered out to try it last night. I got off the computer, took one look at my Kitchen Aid mixer and said... "I'm going to bed." Hubby is making me leave town this weekend to keep me from going into work, so I won't be able to try it until next week sometime. If you make it, let me know. It does sound good, doesn't it? Since it came from Gramma's recipe box, it will turn out well. She only put in recipes she tried and tasted good. Sometimes the hardest thing is just reading the handwriting.

This one is special for Belle.... Scarlett O'Hara Cake 2 sticks butter 2 c sugar 3 beaten eggs 3 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 c milk (or bourbon) (??) 1 tsp vanilla 1 tbsp molasses 1 tsp grouund cloves 1 tsp nutmeg 2 c finely chopped raisins 1 c finely chopped pecans preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour 4 8" pans. in large bowl cream butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and beat until well mixed. At low speed add beaten eggs. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk (or bourbon) to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla - mix well. Divide batter evenly into two bowls. In one of the bowls add the molasses, cloves, nutmeg, raisins, and nuts. Mix well. Pour the spiced batter into 2 of the 8" cake pans and the plain batter into the other 2 pans. Bake 35-40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 minutes... remove from pans and cool thoroughly. Frost (no description of the frosting is given here, but a cream cheese one would be nice, or a plain white frosting) alternating the plain layers with the spiced layers. Sprinkle the frosting with coconut. I'm trying this one tonight. I'll let y'all know how it comes out.

www.cms.gov is the website to find the information you want... look under the fee for service section... It can be a pain to navigate through the site. If you need help, PM me and I will do what I can to search out fees for you. Praying here as well... Love, Jane There is a fee schedule set up for each Medicaid in each state which tells you what they will pay for each service provided by a physician or facility. However, each doctor can charge whatever they want to charge within their office.... But, medicaid will only pay the amount in their fee schedule. Medicare has a similar structure, as do most insurance carriers. The whole system is corrupt. Usually, Medicaid pays so little that most doctors consider medicaid patients to be "pro bono" the payment won't even cover the doctor's costs!

From my great-grandfather's collection of recipes for wine (made during Prohibition). I haven't tried these, but would like to at some point when hubby and I have settled down and put down some roots... another few years before that happens! By the way, no instructions with most of these, let me know if any of you have tips: Banana Wine 2 bananas, peeled 1 lb sugar 1 cake of yeast 1 qt cold water Dandelion wine 1 or 2 qts dandelion blossoms 2 lemons 2 oranges, ground 6 lbs sugar 1 cake of yeast 2 gallons of water Boil water, put in blossoms, lemons, oranges, and sugar. When tepid, add yeast and let stand for 3 days, then strain and let workfor 6 weeks before bottling. Rhubarb wine Cut rhubarb (no quantities listed) into chunks, boil in water until done. Add 1 cake of yeast. Let stand for 26 hours and strain. Put in bottle to work. Clover Wine 4 qts red clover 1 gallon of boiling watr Let above stand overnight. Squeeze out enough water to make 6 quarts, add 4 lbs sugar and boil 20 minutes. Then add 2 lb seedless raisins, 2 oranges, and 2 lemons. Pour boiling juice over 1 cake of yeast and let stand for 36 hours. Strain and bottle to work. Any help deciphering these directions would be helpful. Thanks!

Every time I hear the word institutionalized, I think of this song which it won't let me imbed, so here's the link: Which really kind of fits for twi, too, now that I think about it, especially for us who were raised in it... ALL I WANTED WAS A PEPSI!!! AND SHE WOULDN'T GIVE IT TO ME!!!

REM - yes. Talking Heads - yes. Meat Puppets - no, but because I never heard of them. Violent Femmes - yes. And the B52s, Pet Shop Boys, U2, Jane's Addiction (which is of course, coffee), the Police, and Suicidal Tendencies... Then Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, Orgy, and others.... If I remember right, Chas, you and I are only about a year or two apart in age, too!

Yup yup and yup. (and I occassionally indulge in a little Depeche Mode, too.)
