Beguiled, your story is very similar to my brothers... I know what you went through was tough, being raised in TWI can really be a mind-f***. Glad you are out and done with it. Enjoy your stay at the cafe. It has helped me a lot and continues to help!

I just realized recently that my childhood primed me to be the perfect cult member - submissive, naive, willing to believe that everything was perfect when it wasn't, hating conflict, sweeping any problems under the rug, and completely blind to reality. My husband was not nearly as affected by TWI as I was - his family is a bunch of fighters - they argue constantly, they bicker, they make up and get over it. Conflict is considered normal, and they have lived in the same area for generations. Some of them in his extended family hold grudges for so long they forget why they were fighting in the first place... thy can be overbearing a$$h0!es but they are honest with each other and with themselves. They don't put up with bull $h!t. I really believe that my childhood experiences really skewed my internal instincts when it came to seeing the truth about TWI - I just never wanted to think negative thoughts even before I got involved. Well, back to therapy for me! **edited for clarity

I found clowns frightening before. With the thought of VP in clown getup I now find them terrifying.

Didn't think it was racist at all!! I managed to somehow avoid taking the new FNC and missed that anecdote, but from my brief personal encounters with Rupp, I could see him calling himself "chocolicious" - blech. There is NOTHING I find attractive about that short little pineapple-head.

Back in my early twenties I was confronted by my twig coordinator on the amount of my tithing check. She was convinced that I wasn't giving at least ten percent of my income. At the time I was working as a salesperson at a store in the mall and making just above minimum wage. I actually showed her my check stub so that she would believe me. She then told me she didn't know how I could live on that amount and that I needed to find another job so that i could increase my giving so God could bless me more. I used to condemn myself because by giving ten percent I was ALREADY living on a need basis and couldn't move on to ABS level, much less plurality giving!!

Welcome, Cal! The Cafe is always open! My husband and I faded away about three years ago.. It's been so nice since! GSC has helped me a lot when it comes to understanding what happened while I was in. And chockfull - "chocolicious" ??? Rupp? For a second I thought you were talking about L0max... And it still turned my stomach.

My bet is that there won't be much left to be president of... And then it will just be Rupp and Moneyhands duking it out in a cornfield while Donna quietly makes off with the money...

Probably been hashed and rehashed here at the GSC... But why was LCM the choice for president instead of someone else? Better boot licker? Had more dancing ability? Knew more swear words? Looked better in tights? Wife was willing to swing both ways? In all our discussion of who would be Rosie's replacement, it just got me thinking... Why LCM? It would seem to me that it would be more logical to select Don and keep it in the family. Maybe it was the hypnotic power of the five-head?

Twinky, that would imply that a mistake had been made... That TWI is not infallible. We can't have that, can we? It would tear a hole on the fabric of the universe if twi admitted they weren't perfect!

Give it up, Rosie... Now you just look pathetic and sad. And a little insane. The number of WC grads keeps dropping, as does the number of students for the Advanced Class. What? Are you just going to BELIEVE your way to living dead status? Maybe have them take your brain out and preserve it in a jar with some wires sticking out so you can keep absolute control? Or maybe you could just neuter the younger guys as a condition of cabinet-hood?

I heard the same about Housekeeping... but they need the SPIRITUAL awareness of a believer to really make sure the toilets don't have poo poo crumbs in them. And the whole vacuuming the carpet without leaving lines behind.

Totally off topic.... My Dad does the BEST Ernest Angley impression. EVIL DEMONS BEGONE!!!!!!! (Someone should try that move on Rosalie - slap her on the forehead and see if the demons leave...)

and the Staff need TWI like a hole in the head!! Or maybe they just need them to fill up the shot used during the STS for the video? I saw a facebook status update from a new staff member the other day - they were headed to the STS - and what a privilege it is to go! Only the spiritually mature can handle all that robotic repetitive monotonous bull poopy for that long. And even they are forced to attend!
