I followed steps 1 - 5.... Realized the illusion was an illusion, and moved without leaving a forwarding address. I used to think it was The Household of God. That changed to "it's got some problems, but it's probably just local." That changed to "maybe I can help fix this." And that made me realize that TWI wasn't broken - it was exactly what it was set out to be: a way to make money and manipulate people for the enjoyment of those at the very top.

You have the dogs part wrong, Bolsh. The dogs abuse the squirrels, who then imbibe alcohol and wax philosophical. One squirrel in particular sees the true source of the problem and begins posting on GSC. It's the circle of life..

Off topic, I know, but Kit Sober mentioned "Snakes in Suits" - that book helped me a lot in dealing with and understanding things that had happened to me while in TWI, specifically in situations with a certain leader.

I remember at one point having a "Way Corps Alumn" tell me after a major face melting session at which he was to be a "witness" to my insubordination that if I ever decided to leave TWI I would become possessed with a lesbian spirit and start practicing witchcraft. (nevermind that I had never exhibited and signs of being a lesbian - I was just not submissive enough, so I must be a lesbian, you know?). Anyway, I was so distraught after the face melting (I had been told I was on the verge of "spiritual death") that I told him I wouldn't become a lesbian or a witch - I would just drive out into the country where no one would find me and bring a lot of pills because I would rather die than live outside the Household of God. He was very shocked. He turned white as a sheet and just walked away. It isn't hard for me to see that others felt the same way I did. At that point I had alienated and marked and avoided all of my family. I had nothing except TWI. Thank God I woke up YEARS later and got out.

I remember that, too, Bolshie. Once again, anything bad that happens is YOUR fault unless you are in the upper eschelon of TWI leadership AND you are in good graces with Rosie (they call it "being in fellowship" or "alignment and harmony) in which case it is because you are STANDING ON THE WORD and the adversary is attacking you. -
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know that just because this site is going bye-bye doesn't indicate a serious spiritual victory on your cult's part.

There is one thing that pops out at me: I would not have marked and avoided my immediate family. Other than that, everything I did with TWI led to my marriage and my daughter, who is worth every bit of pain, suffering, and mental anguish caused by TWI. I don't believe everything happens for a reason, but if there was any good that came out of TWI for me it was that little monster who woke me up at 4:00 this morning.

Sounds a lot like TWI, if you ask me. Accused, but not allowed to speak on their own behalf.... Don't listen to THEM, they are OPERATING DEVIL SPIRITS. And how many times in TWI did we hear that those who operate devil spirits are WORTHY OF DEATH?

Sill laughing here, and wondering about all the off coincidences in the world that led that to be posted on that non-TWIer's facebook page. Turns out she got the original in an email from a friend who is living in Africa. I guess the Word really is over the world.

A friend of mine (no TWI affiliation) posted this on another friend of mine's (also no TWI affiliation) facebook page tonight and I just laughed and laughed... Then showed my husband, who also laughed and laughed. So funny. I wonder what TWI's stand is on Lady Gaga? And if this was already here, enjoy it anyway.

Maybe it's because I left TWI on my own without being kicked out by leadership, but I always wonder why anyone would want to go back to something so similar to TWI after they left... I mean, if TWI was bad, then wouldn't anything rooted in it be bad as well? Fruit doesn't fall far from the Way tree.

I second what Broken Arrow just said... I hate the word "witchcraft" as used in this context. It has such a negative-female image when used by other religious groups other than the ones that practice it (Wicca)... I'm with Bramble on this one, although I am not Wiccan. (I do have some heavy Pagan leanings, though... Trying to pin down my religious beliefs is also like herding cats.) TWI used the word "witch" to brand any female (and sometimes male) who was not falling into line to their liking... Rebellion is as the SIN of WITCHCRAFT, don't you know? My mom had that line used on her, and I was accused of it myself. It's a label used often by fundamentalist groups to strike fear into their followers. I believe in many supernatural forces at work in the world, demons included, but to call it all "witchcraft" seems silly. But that's just my take. (I'll get you, my pretty!!!)
