We have choices in life CW and they are very personal to each of us. If we believe we have to live in the mold of our upbringing that is most sad. Words are powerful but inflections and manners behind the words even more. If that doesn't help then I don't know what more I have to offer at this moment in time. Oh heck, I'll use an example.... Don W's daughter L told me once that she would prefer to go WOW in NY than in the south. Her reason for that was in the south they would open their doors and even their homes and be all sugary sweet saying "oh yeah we'll come to fellowship" and never show up. But in NY they would answer the door and say "get the f out of here" and you knew exactly where you stood. Does that help?

CW, I know you're not black but words we use reflect us, I'm a good example of that having made errors more than once on this forum. It's not the words it's the heart of the issue that she is changing. She knows there are choices out there.

Well you know that little girl I helped thru school (well I bought her food and such was all I could do) anyway she is a perfect example of someone that refuses to be held to her area's lifestyle. She's now kicking butt and making a change in her own neighborhood. God bless her. And don't even say words like that to her, oh my.

I've invited danger into my life when I felt I had no choice. I'll be darned if I do it again. We have a personal responsibility to ourselves. And that begins with our basic human/animal needs of self preservation. If we ignore it there are consequences to pay.

Lesson learned today: Wait till the seas are calmer to join in when you don't have all the facts. Keep to your guns and do not delete what you posted because it offended someone. If it was in error then so be it. It won't be the first or the last time and I'm in good company on that anyway. Consider the other rude things said in this thread (much having been deleted at this point) and how benign my statement was in comparison. Consider how that was chosen out of all the other rude things stated and pointed out. Don't be afraid to appear a fool, that is part of the self-reliance I am working so dang hard to acquire. Don't back off before you know you were wrong in the first place and stop taking other people's blame. Don't take myself so serious and since that was in part humor then why second guess myself. I have been controlled, bullied and treated like a second class citizen in private most of my life, I'm fed up and if I offend someone with my growth process.....well they are just going to have to get over it!

BTW...I will be unable to reply for a few hours from this point so I will cover it in one post for the time being. Rude is something we seem to enjoy around here when we need to releases some tension. When some of us reply around here it is obvious it is not our minds at work. Did I need to read the whole thread to know there were some butts showing? If my comment of which many people would have laughed at and sat back and went...hmmm maybe there is something to that was so rude then do not read me anymore...I rarely post anyway. And to Paw or anyone else here that had better manners in the whole exchange I apologize to you if in fact you felt my comment was rude. My friends know me good enough to understand my humor or lack thereof!
