The System of Seclusion
ChattyKathy replied to FreshAir 99's topic in Getting help for cult dysfunction
I felt jealous. On our interim year I was under such pressure that as I walked downtown to work each day (we only had one vehicle) and passed folks eating and laughing around me I would ache in my heart. I yearned for that. Oh no I am already hogging his thread. --> Kathy -
The System of Seclusion
ChattyKathy replied to FreshAir 99's topic in Getting help for cult dysfunction
This word seclusion is interesting. If indeed it is self-imposed for a period of strengthening oneself in your convictions, be it godly or morally, for a time being that could be helpful. But what twi has done is impose it on their way household to the end they are cut off from being able to function normally. My son was a friend with a young lady born and raised at HQ. They were at the advanced class together and she shared her heart with him. Telling him she needed that class to help her avoid being kicked in the butt all the time by the adversary. She said having lived only on grounds was isolating to her and had left her helpless against the real world. And she felt her personal adversary was well aware of her weakness and regularly kicked her butt because of it. They view it as safety, to pull back from the entanglements of the world. But they have pulled back from people?s hearts as well. Placing themselves on a higher plain of action and thoughts. Yet as we who have walked away can see clearly they have isolated themselves to the point of control and personal destruction. Their seclusion has aided in disengaging themselves from more than material things. It has caused them to actually disconnect from those who they say they are on earth to reach. Kathy -

Fresh, Good to see you, we missed your fresh air insight. Kathy -
A la procahine was talking about being exposed to music thus having the opportunity to appreciate it. How true this is. When growing up I heard country and bluegrass all the time. In my teens I went thru a period where I thought I hated country. That was just not cool. Then later on heard it playing one day and memories, like the ones several just mentioned, came flooding back. And I found I loved the music again. But I had once loved it as a girl and the sounds tied to certain memories. I wonder though would I have loved it so much without those memories. Today yes, today I love nearly everything called music except for some of the real popular stuff. Guess I am getting old. --> Cool car there Alkafat. We did one of those burn the chaff things on some books and music one time. We got a fire going in the back yard that caught the attention of the fire department. Up they drive in their fire truck. And what a trip it was explaining what it was we were burning and why. Pirate can ya imagine the worth to just the right customer of those original Beatles tapes just recovered..

There are new faces here in this thread, and I know that sweet french girl has been faithful to welcome you. I just want to say my welcomes and thanks for joining us. This has been a fun thread, I think it has something for everyone who likes music. And I don't think there are many folks who do not like music. It offers so much to life. And tells of life in ways nothing else can even come close to. Well gotta go again, back later tonight.

A la prochaine, I was taught the basics from firebee awhile back, then have self taught myself the rest. You can obtain things to post here without having to be confined to Google Image Search. I just played around and figured it out, trial and error it was. The computer forum is a great place to try things out in. But I will teach you what I know sometime when we have some extra time while in AIM, okay. :)--> And I posted more about hubby over in my thread under lift list. All is well. Yahoo......... Kathy

WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS GEORGE HARRISON I LOOK AT YOU ALL, SEE THE LOVE THERE THAT'S SLEEPING, WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. I LOOK AT THE FLOOR AND I SEE IT NEEDS SWEEPING; STILL MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. I DON'T KNOW WHY NOBODY TOLD YOU HOW TO UNFOLD YOUR LOVE, I DON'T KNOW HOW SOMEONE CONTROLLED YOU, THEY BOUGHT AND SOLD YOU. I LOOK AT THE WORLD AND I NOTICE IT'S TURNING, WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. WITH EV'RY MISTAKE WE MUST SURELY BE LEARNING; STILL MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. WELL... I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU WERE DIVERTED, YOU WERE PERVERTED TOO. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU WERE INVERTED, NO ONE ALERTED YOU. I LOOK AT YOU ALL, SEE THE LOVE THERE THAT'S SLEEPING, WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. LOOK, LOOK AT YOU ALL... STILL MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. OH, OH - OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH - OH, OH - OH, OH. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, OH! OOH - A la prochaine, Was I quick enough? :P--> ;)-->

Oak, cool background stuff. I also thought about the chain of command in a devil spirit light but was not sure if this thread wanted to go in that direction so held back. Interesting though with Sauron as the head and how the level of intellect deteriorates as it moves down. And the end result of the last book is interesting in this light as well. Not to get into that should no one have read them, and of course have not seen the movie yet. :D-->

Hello In There ©John Prine We had an apartment in the city, Me and Loretta liked living there. Well, it'd been years since the kids had grown, A life of their own left us alone. John and Linda live in Omaha, And Joe is somewhere on the road. We lost Davy in the Korean war, And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore. Chorus: Ya' know that old trees just grow stronger, And old rivers grow wilder ev'ry day. Old people just grow lonesome Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello." Me and Loretta, we don't talk much more, She sits and stares through the back door screen. And all the news just repeats itself Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen. Someday I'll go and call up Rudy, We worked together at the factory. But what could I say if asks "What's new?" "Nothing, what's with you? Nothing much to do." Repeat Chorus: So if you're walking down the street sometime And spot some hollow ancient eyes, Please don't just pass 'em by and stare As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello."

QQ, my thoughts are this. Tolkien is a masterful story teller. And although the movie follows the book, it does so only to a degree, but lacks the story telling. Some of the points you brought up just weren?t addressed. But for me, it was still a great piece of entertainment and I had forgotten so much of the books history.

Hubby just finished reading the last book and is ready to see the movie. :)-->

LEE ANN WOMACK "I HOPE YOU DANCE"
ChattyKathy replied to ChattyKathy's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
moreyt, She has two versions of that song, the dance version is not as good, as it does not have the back up voices of her guys in it. Their voices make the song nearly as much as hers does. Those words are just great, talk about believing, we know a group that could learn from these words. Kathy
