Cindy, I can do it in two questions, one being long and looking like more than one question but it relates although I broke all grammar rules and the second short and sweet. Thrown in with one statement that I hope offers you what you requested. 1) Have we preconceived a person of race, religion etc based on what the world defines of them only, as well as, my personal opinion guiding me on what I want them to look like, as well as, not liking what they do as in prayer practice as example, as well as, it just looks so different that I seem unable to see it? Are these things that affect how we view others? Or what about the ones that are just insane and should not be considered and seen by me? 2) Do we throw out the good with the bad? And a point I was making merely for objective purposes was: We don't have to believe in the Bible to know terrorism and radical thinking (as defined by killing someone for your beliefs) is wrong.

Adherence to things when it validates our beliefs is something we're familiar with I know. We were told not to go to the Word seeking proof for our thinking. While I understand that was to be a warning for not having preconceived ideas it does ring true in having the openness to receive as an honest objective. How we see ourselves being defined by outside sources is the worldly way. I can't speak for you but as for me it's certainly taken its toll on my thinking. There's not much unsaid about this point. But what about my seeing others only as the world defines them. And more to the point, what if I allow my view of what they should be to blind me? What a loss of richness to myself I've brought on. I'll never understand what its like to be inside their head, even if I take on the same belief system. All our steps leading up to death are varied enough that none are able to truly "be there" as another is. But what if I can't imagine myself where they are? Is it because I don't like it, or is it so different from what I know I fail at hearing or seeing the difference? Or is it because it's fundamentally and morally insane? By whose definition one may ask am I gauging insanity. I think that's universal enough in defining terrorism our most current example. I don't go looking in the Word according to God or The World According To Garp either for validation for my belief terrorism and radical thinking is wrong. I just know it's wrong. We were taught to remove the cause and I think without realizing it we may think removing the whole of something, when it contained good as well, is safer than risk of acceptance seems. Just thinking out loud y'all.

Muslim school in MN helps children feel more at home

Valerie, I don't believe I've ever spoken to you. Nice to meet you. A tad about me, I hang out in politics. I'm rather vociferous regarding my few of "radical" Islam's. But "radical" is the critical part of that description. I've no problem with that faith being practiced in this country. I've more than a problem with the "radicals" believing in and orchestrating my death because I'm not one of them. It's within that elitist thinking they err to barbarism. If I tell them they cannot believe in their god in my country how am I not at least partaking of some of their thought processes? And for those who read I had a problem with primary Middle East history being taught in the Muslim schools here, it's because they need to know what allowed them the opportunity to be sitting at that desk and chair in their somewhat safe environment. They can be taught their history as well, of course, but if allowed with no check and balances history could continue to be written for their young to learn, even about this country. Osama bin Laden did an excellent job of re-writing history from 9/11 forward for his benefit in his display at election time. I don't believe a stateside Muslim school would desire to ignore our freedoms and how we obtained them, but primary teaching of anything, yes even Christianity must be considered in light of blinders. Checks and balances can have the appearance of lost liberty as well. Seems there is a "balance" to balance. But back to the point, our country stands for the right of individual freedom to worship. God help us the day we not allow it to remain. -

Abi, this statement of yours "Now both boys are in a traditional style charter school. My oldest son is back to basic addition and my youngest son is now bored to death in kindergarten." is very disturbing. Such notice of failure to provide what their hungry young minds need is very disturbing. Mark, do you or anyone know if they are taught the same American history as public schools? -
oops dmiller, I missed that one not being answered.

Thank you Kry! :)-->
