  1. Ted, if ever a person wanted a cheer(ing) leader they'd do themselves well to come to you. Thank you my friend for the warm smile. Are you sure that ain't Pat Boone even though it says someone else (which I think you have there to trick us  don't ya). Well then I reckon I best give another clue for this huge pay that I'm being paid. HERE
  2. Are there any clues unguessed? And I've enjoyed the music even though I've not said so. Ala, we were posting at the same time. You are doing wonderfully. Don't fret about the title thing for now. Just enjoy posting because we enjoy listening. We just don't always mention that I've noticed. (((you)))
  3. Huey "Piano" Smith and the Clowns is right! Excellent Moon Girl! :) So I better see if I can come up with something else. brb...... I'll tell ya up front I can't listen to it all way through. I know when I was a younger I enjoyed him but something changed. HERE And because I don't think it fair to be cruel and leave ya with that one. HERE
  4. Saint George, Yes it is Billie Holiday. Did you notice the poor recording with background sounds? Everything I have of hers is that way. It makes me cherish her all the more because it was done by less than perfect equipment and had it not been we'd not have her at all. I'm thankful for the early recording engineers and novice that made possible our enjoyment today. As for the second one I wouldn't have known the artist myself and wasn't sure if maybe too remote a link so I'll provide a clue. HERE This may be a give away clue: He was born in New York but raised in Baton Rouge, cut his first record in 1957 at Cosimo Matassa's J&M studio as Johnny Ramistella and the Spades.
  5. This is an oldie that I love. Does everyone recognize the artist? HERE Another oldie that some of us may have heard before. Anyone recognize this one also. HERE
  6. Truth be told I'd find Rick a fitting avatar if I thought he'd use it. <_< Sometimes these oldies will bring back memories of my sister, brother and I lying on the floor in front of the tv and I can almost see and hear them. Those are very sweet for me, so very sweet. Send some snow my way Cowgirl! :)
  7. Cowgirl, Far out! Here's a theme that gives itself away in the lyrics but we've discussed this show recently and it has a cowgirl it in. HERE it in=in it
  8. Rick, Truth?...I don't particularly care for it and I love Irish and Celtic music. Sorry! :( Moon Girl, So what kind of avatar should the bluzeman have anyway I wonder?
  9. I'm glad to see the fake girl wouldn't have been your option guys. :) And no disrespect to any blonde bimbo's we may have reading. (I like your new avatar wasway)
  10. Free will is our freedom to choose from without outside votes and like any other freedoms there are conditions. I'd much rather be able to choose to say there is or isn't a God than be constrained to do according to another's will. But then you may ask "isn't that what I'm doing now?" "doing and saying according to God's constraints?". And yes, I am choosing to abide by his law (not as in dispensations but as in direction) and am being afforded freedom. How can something that doesn't exist kill me? (although I don't believe that he does)
  11. Sudo, smooth move....maybe it'll work and he'll stick around. :)
  12. This one will be history because of the subject, although not old enough to be nostalgia. HERE This one just because. HERE Instead of catching up and commenting (although Moon Girl and her speakers made me roar) I'm just going to post these and hope okay by y'all. :)
  13. (((((y'all))))) Wasway, good to see you back and I hope it ain't cause I left. :) Sushi and Abi, y'all got my PM hopefully. And I was a good girl and bit my tongue and told no one as well. I miss y'all and should be able to play again soon I pray. I must tell you of my new boneheaded thing though. I just accidentally called 911 and hung up not realizing it had gone through. But it became known when #2 was in a meeting and in walked 3 people telling him they thought I was in trouble and the police were outside of the office. Now of course it has traveled all about the building and even #1 had a smile on his face as I just passed him in the hall. Good lord! (((((y'all)))))
  14. Y'all, I'm gonna take a short sabbatical due to needing to focus on care of myself. I know this is dorky to announce it. But if I just don't post that appears rude or questionable since I love this place. So that's why I announced it. The folks that want to talk to me from here know where I'm at and if anyone else is looking I'm not hard to find. Be well you crazy and wonderful folk! :)
  15. Oh Ala, my goodness but you couldn't have chosen a better one for him IMHO. This has history for me. Thank you!
  16. Sudo, I don't even know where to start but I found something while googling after I knew I couldn't guess anyway. I thought it worth bringing here. (although I bet hiwayman knew it already lol)
  17. Ala, Thanks for that first link. He was definitely a part of my growing up. Didn't you play the second one along with another of his songs and I didn't care for :( the second? I could go back and look but I ain't. Interesting that he's been referred to as Ireland's Ray Charles. And how many musicians went thru the God phase. Sudo, I have no idea but I prefer it over the one played on the show. Thank you. :)
  18. I'm so embarrassed because I know this answer but can't recall it and I swear I think you were just talking about this person. No comments please! :)
  19. Sudo, I watched I Dream of Jeannie off and on but I couldn't handle the reruns. Hiwayman, I've never heard another version so can't help. I did love Get Smart though even though it was goofy as heck in some ways. I'm not a great parameter for some humor though because I don't like The Three Stooges. So I'm rather limited. :) Rick, Didn't know the singer nor the show. :( Ala, You're avatar is befitting of you at times. You bounce about in words with a smile on your face. Gosh I need to watch the news or something, I'm sounding giddy. It's not old but it's fun. HERE
  20. It's beautiful! I can't stay. Back in a gif!
  21. Ala, you're a dear. But actually I have lots of Patsy Cline just not Tennessee Waltz. Cool though that you brought that Willie Nelson song Crazy. I also heard him say she sang it better than he'd ever be able and he was right about that.
