Ramble on please.....it's delightful to read. "Badge" I think the CD didn't have his heart like he can give. But then I'll be crazy for his next one and forget this one. :)

That's some 10 cents worth there! :) I've always had a love hate relationship with his music. This one caught me off guard. I'd hoped he'd just stay with Blues from now on. He seems so relaxed and at home with himself. He's done some mellow stuff I loved mixed in with some funky beats on "Pilgrim." Are you familiar with that CD? I'd play something from it but don't have it on my laptop and that's what I'm on now. I've heard those mentioned songs, excellent examples. And I will skip some of his songs even now if I have easy access. He's not the greatest guitarist agreed. It's his soul that comes out when he loves what he's doing. I bet he didn't love putting together some of those songs on "Back Home." Maybe the next one will be back to Blues.
  6. I swear that picture and what it wasn't has been the funniest dang thing!
  7. I'm richer for having you and Abi as friends. Happy Birthday fun man!

It's from his new CD "Back Home", of which I'm sadly disappointed. This song is one of the better ones but the overall album is something I'd be disappointed in him if he continued. I don't know what he was trying to do in it Socks but this fan hopes he never tries it again. I love your description (above post) of a guitar......you get it don't ya! Guitars..... (edits and me :( )

You better get your butt (speaking of butts lmao) over to Nostalgia before I send those dogs they have in Canada after you. Everyone go to sleep now. Hey that was quick, I didn't even see you slip in there David. Good headoff! :) Hey, thanks for that link, I marked it to look at further.

You can't run fast enough girl.
  13. It had substance to it, it felt like I was really off the ground if that makes sense. But I retained a tad of fear of being hurt again that carried even on our best rides. It sucked. But the bike was beautiful and he is a very careful but fun driver. :) And on your request....

I was talking to my best friend tonight and later recalled the first time I'd heard him play which would be only the beginning of what I would be able to hear. He knows I'll embarrass him but he forgives me. I listen to his music and hear the things I hear from you incredible players on this thread. You all love to play and it shows. And I hear his heart and soul coming out of the strings with similarities to some of my favorites like SRV, Clapton and Knopfler. He's even shocked himself at times. He'll stop playing and laugh and go whoa did you hear that and we'll laugh at his incredible shyness about it all. You men and women that can make yourselves known thru your chords amaze me. I think there is something that soothes a soul in music, the right music for the right time. And I prefer guitars. I grew up around them and I still remember the sound of my dad with his steel guitar and metal fingertips. He can still make some young men turn green. (Rick, I didn't get too outlandish did I? hahaha)
  15. This is a model but it's what he had except his handle bars were stock higher ones and it didn't have the fender tag and it was black like your picture. (nice bike you brought btw) It was a 1969 Norton Commando 750 (I asked).
  16. Why not excath! And with him is all the love there could ever be being sent his way. I know he has mine now.
  17. ha ha ha ha ha ha So you were smiling while we were seeing it for the first time eh!

The music has the sense that even though direction may change there is a continuance that lies just below all else going on. It's such a tender and sad piece. And you play beautifully. Thank you for sharing with us. This thread would be lacking without your music. I started putting words to it as I heard it. Yup, you did mighty fine on that. More please.
  19. Then I'm amongst (proper usage ?) some of my buds in this image, so glad to see that! ;) I enjoyed my quick AIM with you and Ted last night. And at risk of Ted getting me back.....I knew it was you typing after you typed the first line.....you're a tad faster than he is...... All have a good day please.
  20. I am so relieved you saw the same thing because I kept trying to be objective when I looked at it and then I looked and my head would go hmmm, now this may be interesting so thank you thank you!

Stevie Ray Vaughn was a master of tuning down to an Eb. As well he could make you understand pickup positions by sound alone. Gosh what a loss to us at his young age. I didn't see The Thing completely but wasn't there this hand and some cool music combined somewhere?
