Wayfer Not!: "Have you seen the women from these groups Z? They look like they are still living in the 1800s. Long hair pulled up, no makeup, and long dresses, with birkenstock type shoes" WOW Sounds like some 'hot' girls there. [remind me to never show you any pictures of my wonderful wife, Bonnie] :-)

From what I have read nothing but nothing beats the firewalls provided by a router. Then no matter what your computer is doing, an entirely seperate box is handling those hackers.

Hmm. we don't lock our cars. I have never had a vehicle stolen from me. When we lived in Southern California [Atwater, Ca] we kept the keys in the vehicles, and our house did not have a lock on the doors. Italy had a very high crime rate where we lived; shootings, stabbings, muggings, rapes everyday. And every little neghiborhood was the same, they all had it. Here in Norwich we have a population of: 36,177. One block away from our home is a city park w/ gangs and drugs, and since we have been stateside one drive-by shooting happened there. I read our local newspaper 'police log' daily, the number and types of arrests I see, amaze me. Some kind of robbery, theft, or larceny at least 10 a week. And from watching the storys we have a dozen murders a year. Does that make it a big city? To me it is a lot of crime. It is too big for me.

GarthP2000- "Or that a man who considers himself a lesbian, should not play santa?" "Now, why would you consider yourself a lesbian, hmmm? -->" "For years now, I have been secretly thinking that I am really truly a lesbian. I am trapped in a man's body. I really love the female form. Redheads, blondes, brunettes; it makes no difference. Now with my preoccupation with females, I must be a lesbian. But here I am trapped in a man's body, I hate the male body." Dont you love the female form too? :-) You are saying that as a man, you like the look of men's bodies?, or girls? Then perhaps you could also be a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

GarthP2000: "Galen, Ya know, you'd make a wierd Santa Claus." Are you saying that an-Ex-Way-Followers should not ever play Santa? Or that a man who considers himself a lesbian, should not play santa? Or that bearded lesbians should not play santa? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thomas Heller: "But since you asked, I believe the idea is that they are used as a front for the illuminati as they work to bring to pass the "new world order" which I think is bad idea." Well they were a big moving force behind 'public education', and are still kind of proud of that. They do provide lots of educational scholarships, and the 'speech-therapy centers', 'Language-disorders' centers, 'eye-sight' clinics and all tied closely with public ed. So to get reffered to one of those many centers for treatment, a child needs to be reffered by the public school system. I used to argue to effectiveness of public education, being a Home-schooling parent and all. But anymore their focus has entirely shifted to their lack of recruitment and dwindling membership rolls. The main 'thrust' of their movement toward that 'New World Order' was Public Education and the ideal that bringing the literacy level of the common man up to a higher level was in itself a worthy goal. Now they sale off their properties and close their temples trying to stay 'liquid' to maintain both the scholarship-programs and the speech/eyesight/language therapy centers. Even the 23 Shrine Children's Hospitals, are reduced to 22 as they try to maintain funding. To provide to the public free medical treatment for children and children's disorders seemed like a nodle and worthy goal. But only as long as they can maintain the flow of money to afford such. No federal money has ever been used, no public funds, only what Shriners can raise. But they did 'perfect' burn-treatment and burn-centers, and discovered the importance of Folic-acid for pregnant women.

Zshot- “If a girl starts ordering ala-carte and/or has "special" requests for items off the menu... RUN away!!! There are 2 things I don't like in a woman, they are: 1. "high maintenance" 2. too fussy” I agree. Krysilis- “All of us women require some maintenance or else we wouldn't be female! I know you know that. What I'm wondering is, how much is too much in your view?” No, not really. That is truly not the case, sorry. Steve- “"Just a salad" - when you order just a salad, a guy will take this as a HUGE red flag! He will take it that you are not being yourself.” I don’t know about that, I commonly order a chef’s salad, or grilled-chicken salad. “One rule to keep in mind, whether you are on a date or not, is: NEVER, EVER send back your meal to be recooked.” Agreed. Our eldest son ‘Daniel’ does the McDonalds thing and has off and on for a while, he has accumulated over 2 years on their grills. He tells of things that others do during the ‘re-cook’ requests. Never Never ever send food back. Our stereo’s CD player holds up to 400 CDs, so it takes a while to cycle through the CDs in it [though it is not close to full]. I am reminded to 2 ‘oldie’ songs that come up every now and again. One is saying to take out a rich man’s daughter and expect to pay a lot for dinner, take out a poor man’s daughter and any food will do. To which I would have to agree. The other one says “make an ugly girl your wife”, the song it does however make a good solid case for it’s sentiment. :-)

"Some of Paul's letters are his opinions. His comments about marriage in 1 Corinthians 7 are his opinion." ”Yes, but don't forget Paul's opinion counts more than most since he was hand picked by Jesus Christ. When he sat down to inspired writing and ministering to the Church Paul's opinions were not really his own, but God's. God had Paul use a figure of speech in that section to let people know that there were no hard fast rules that applied to everyone, in every situation. They were God-breathed verses that you refer to, but they were not absolute commandments from God, but more like general guidelines for most situations. To go against them, it would be wise to be sure it was an exceptional situation, and that no other sections of God's Word were being violated.” A few days ago, on a different website, I was asked what I thought about marriage and divorce. I answered with Paul’s guidance. Man did I get stomped on. Nobody wants to be confined to just a few marriages; they all just completely justified various rational for racking up as many marriages as you possibly can. It does amaze me that our changing society does more to modify and dictate ‘Right and wrong’, more so than the Bible does. “The problems begin with vpw's biography and his extemporary statements made in times and places where you weren't. __ The 1942 revelation is doubted because there is no record of any snowfall in that area on that date." “We have had a witness here on GreaseSpot who saw in his lifetime TWO highly localized snow "storms" that were very dense, yet very small in the area they covered, like football field size.” I have seen them. Perhaps it is just one of those things that G-d does for you as a ‘special treat’. Once while driving Bonnie in a U-Haul coast-to-coast, we were on the freeway between Needles and Barstow, going through that horrible washboard section of 100 miles. When she asked me why they kept those washboards in the freeway when they built it, wouldn’t they have leveled the road and made it smooth? It was sunny and without a cloud. I knew the answer and as we were talking about flash-floods, it began hailing. It hailed so heavy we could not see the road. I creeped to the top on the hill and parked. It shifted from hail to rain and then just as suddenly it all stopped. We looked and the road behind us as well as the road in front of us were both underwater. We waited a few minutes while the water sub-sided, and then continued on our trip. Now was that just coincidence? Was G-d doing us a ‘special treat’? It happened just as we were talking about the possibility of such a thing happening. Did it happen? Were Bonnie and I ‘transported’ in our minds so that G-d could show us the event and we could be witnesses of it? Nobody else was there, nobody else saw it. Does that mean it did not happen? I am witness, as is Bonnie.

I have found great 'wisdom' at: http://Theeldergeek.com/ I was a major geek with DOS, but WinXP has just so much to it, that I needed to find a good resource. His 'Geekiness' does seem to have a good handle running WinXP. Also his forums are good. :-)

Hmm, As I have posted and discussed previously, I keep honey-bees. I have never thought to do it 'au-natural' Do you find this works 'better' for you? Would you be so kind to give a short pro vs. con from your experiences, to guide us in why you like nude-beekeeping? I could see doing this while changing out their water, but I am not entirely convinced such is my prefered method for harvesting the frames. :-)

I don’t know if military duty-stations count. But I was active in fellowships and running classes through out. 1979 in Ct, alternated 105 days onboard sub and 100 days in barracks. 4 patrols totaling 7 moves between barracks and boat; 1980 moved to Newport News Va [1 move] until; 1983 moved to Fresno Ca [1 move] until; 1984 moved to Upper Lake Ca [1 move] until; 1985 moved to Atwater Ca [1 move] until; 1987 moved to Damn-Neck Va for 3 months, then to Holy-Loch Scotland [2 moves] until; 1990 moved to Norwich Ct [1 move] until; 1993 moved to Charlestown SC onto sub, made 2 patrols cycled between living onboard and in barracks [4 moves]; 1994 moved to Bremerton Wa [1 move] until; 1995 moved to Bangor Wa onto another sub, made 6 patrols [10 moves]; 1997 moved to Naples Italy [1 move] until; 2001 moved to Brunswick Maine for a couple months [1 move], then on to Norwich Ct [1 move]. I have done in 32 moves, some confined to everything I own within one sea-bag, some included everything my family owns, since completing PFAL.

Abigail: "Interesting, Galen. My first fellowship coordinators were corps. grads who got married in CT. When our region coordinator found out they were married by someone who "was not supposed to perform their wedding ceremony" they were publicly reproved and shipped off to another state." Okay fine, when did they get married in Ct? I thought that I had pretty much kept track of all weddings that I have done. I did not think that any of them had gone corpse. I could be in error. "After I left TWI, I attended a graduation party with my then husband, .... I thought it was pretty funny at the time. It showed me they were more afraid of me than I ever had been of them." LOL Oakspear- Bonnie and I found a Baptist minister to marry us [he and I rode motorbikes together]. Bonnie was an advanced class grad and I was a foundational class grad at the time. But being in Ct, we had no clergy within the ministry who was willing or able to perform the duties of a clergy.
-
Oakspear: "You must have driven some "leadership" folks _crazy_ " Such was not our intention. We were jsut trying to minister to G-d's people as best we could. Who ever heard of a church that could not even marry their own people. I am still amazed when I speak with people to discover they were previously followers of The Way International Ministry; and how many of them were married by a Justice of the Peace. "Here you are, performing weddings, even though you are just a lowly "Joe Believer", getting kicked out, then resurfacing somewhere else in the world. I can just see it: "Well, we've gotten rid of _him_...hey, who's that in the second row?" " LOL, yes well. There were beleivers who we have ran into again and again over the years, but it was never the 'leadership', it has been mostly the military servicemembers that have been in our fellowships. They have been glad to see us again, each time. It is interesting to consider, with each move, generally other servicemembers knew us or had been in our fellowships from previous duty-stations. But they obviously never told any of the visiting corpse about our previous run-ins with leadership. We just figured that someone was looking out for us, to help us. Bonnie has commented to me that she thought it odd, how we never did wear-out our welcome in a limb, until we already had orders 'in hand' shipping us out to our next duty-station.

Oakspear: "Dateline San Diego, February 2805 C.E. (AP) Scholars unearthed a rare English edition of _Power for Abundant Living_ today in the ruins of ancient San Diego. As any schoolchild knows, English is a dead language that was spoken at one time in North America and other scattered parts of the world, but was supplanted by Tagalog after the Phillipine Hegemony required all public records to be in that nations language." LOL LOL LOL A buddy of mine has been running a Twig in San Diego, one service each week has been in Tagalog. [his other fellowships are in English and one in Spanish] He should get a kick out of your post. We get very nicely done CDs each week of his English fellowship.

Hope R.: "You're right - the Branch Leaders _were_ corps - but they didn't make the call. The Louisiana Limb guy was the one who called _them_ to WARN them about this guy. That's the way it usually worked. The old leaders called the new ones with the "dirt". Or they were told at some meeting or the ROA. Otherwise, you're right, no one called to "check up" on people for the most part." Oh I see, the previous guy called ahead to warn those in the area where you were going to. Ouch. "I don't understand what you mean by "No body could be called to check on us"... Did the people who kicked you out in '80 and '93 leave the area you had been in?" In 1980, it was Steve Strezpec, I have no idea what he did or if he was moving. Again it was the first time I had ever met a corpse-grad I was on active-duty, he came to Twig and made a big scene because he did not want this couple to be married. He was told that I had done the wedding. He confronted me. I said but they need the wedding as they are shipping out of the area soon. Steve than told us all that he had been 'counseling the couple' but that he had no real intention of ever truly performing a wedding for a non-corpse couple. He was just going to lie to them and string them along, until they finally gave-up. He announced that I was born of the Adversary for using my ordination from another church and 'threw' me out. A few months later, I was transfered to Virginia. I doubt whether Steve ever knew my name, I certainly doubt whether he ever knew where I was being transfered to. I doubt whether he ever knew where the newly-wed couple was transferring to [Hawaii, and yes they are doing great, I still talk with them]. In Virginia we contacted HQ and located a local Twig. The locals were wonderful and life marched on. We ran more PFAL classes. I remember being 'drafted' into a group to see the Va Limb Coordinators off at an airport once, I did not recognize them, but they were the Limb Coordinators [was it Barb and Tom Lally?]. I doubt whether they ever put it together that we had once been up in Ct. I doubt whether they ever knew our names. Our 'seeing' or 'meeting' them was in the context of attending a Limb function, so it would have been a crowd of hundreds in Virginia Beach. Bonnie remembers it because we were introduced as "The Outer Surrounding Areas Twig" from Newport News. I dont think they ever knew our names. They were the only Corpse that we had contact with in Va. We just ran classes. In 1993 [we were again serving in CT, I was working as an MP and I was the Subase Police Department Chaplain] We got 'new' Limb Coordinators into the area, and they wanted to travel around the state and visit each Twig. They spent an evening with our twig, and a few weeks later called to tell us that it had bothered them that some of the couples in our twig had been married by me. [The previous Limb Coordinator had supplied me with a TWI course on beta 'How to perform a wedding" I still have a copy. He had encouraged each twig to be self-supporting and to take care of our own needs, after all who else was going to, if not the Twig Coordinator?]. This new guy [darn I can't re-call his name] said that he was insulted that since he could not perform weddings, that I could, so he 'threw' us out. Again at the time, I already was at the end of my tour, and had orders in hand sending me to my next sub. I left the area and went to that boat [uSS Casimir Pulaski in Charlestown SC], called HQ found the local Twig, was soon appointed Protestant Lay-Leader on-board that boat and had a Twig under-water. Again I doubt the Ct Limb Coordinator ever knew where I was being transferred to, or cared. Nobody in SC ever called Ct [as far as I knew] they were just glad to have another believer in the area and on that boat. The boat only stayed in SC for a year, then we changed homeport to Bremerton Wa. Where we found a Twig, again ... "We are not on any list of M&A either - we never even got a letter. It was spread around by word-of-mouth that we got kicked out." Oops my bad, sorry. Later we once had two corpse-couples assigned to our Twig, they were both on 'suspended' status. While talking to them, I got the idea that there existed some hard-copy listing of "Marked and Avoided" corpse. Thus it was my understanding that Joe Beleiver was "flying below the Corpse radar", and we could more or less travel around the world as our professions required, getting envolved with Twigs anywhere we went, without the M&A tagline still being attached to us. That was kind of how we ended up with Country-Coordinator titles for a short while. CC-for-Americans-stationed-in-Scotland. Gartmore House was friendly and inviting for Sunday service, but not for running PFAL classes or handling blue-forms. So we had to contact Paul Norcross [the international military outreach coordinator] and work-out what to do with blueforms and PFAL classes while running a Twig in Scotland. :-)

excathedra: "galen, just because you know someone by their initials doesn't mean you were an "insider." i think it means you knew the same people" In a ministry of thousands, scattered over such a huge area, stretched out for 40 years? Yes I think it does, sorry. :-) "i don't think this discussion has anything to do with having ministered to people" I thought that was supposed to be what we were [are] doing. My bad. :-) Hope- "First of all, I think that the "average" believer did move around a lot. I only know a few folks who were in TWI for any amount of time who stayed in the same place they got involved in." I agree entirely. I have moved around a lot, I generally have stayed in any one area for about 3 years and then moved on to another area. And yes, it certainly does seem that most of the beleivers that we have known, also have moved on. We were most certainly among a group of highly mobile people. "Even though I went through the Way Corps, I wasn't an insider at all. Some of these reputations were simply known because TWI was really a small place. If you moved around a lot like I did, you got to know a lot of people - whether you were in the Corps or not." Hmm, and here we agree, but come to different conclusions. I also moved around alot, and during those 18 years, we knew a lot of people. But when so many here on GS begin rattling off all these names of people, none of them are from any of the fellowships that I ever attended, Europe or North America [coast to coast]. Maybe you ALL jsut moved around a lot more than I have been doing. "I would hear things about certain leaders like "man, you don't want to get sent WOW to THAT state - Mr. Big is there and he's a mean SOB". Or, "watch out for that department head [at HQ's] -- she's really tough to work for..." Working with WOWs, I thought that most WOWs were off limits, do it all themselves, the local beleivers were commonly told to stay away. I know that I was told that in 4 different limbs. Department Heads? huh? In what limb? "The other side of the reputation coin is that there were many "Joe Believers" who had certain qualities pinned on them because of a mistake or two they might have made in the past. When I came to Florida, there was a wonderful guy in the West Palm branch named Tom who had recently moved there from Lousiana. I mean, this guy was the salt of the earth - one of the nicest, funniest people I have ever met. Well, it seems that the Limb leader of LA called Tom's current branch leaders and told them all kinds of awful crap that he had apparently done in LA - and to watch out for him." That was one of the greatest things about NOT being an 'insider'. There was / is no M&A list of us. I was thrown out in 1980 by one LC, I moved to another area, called HQ for the local fellowship and started going. No body could be called to check on us. I was thrown out again in 1993, and gues what? We moved to another area, called HW got the local fellowship and started attending. Why? because there was no body for the local fellowship to call and no list of M&As to check. Only Corpse were put onto a listing, only corpse knew each other enough to call each other areas and ask about. When I went into a new area, 'If' there is already a fellowship going, then I go to it. But who is going to 'call' anyone? Who are they going to call? The Twig Coordinator is often a local, he is not corpse, he does not know anyone in the state or country that I just came from, how could he? He is jsut a Joe Beleiver. "I give the Florida branch leaders credit." Bet they were corpse, regular BCs would nto have made the call. Watered Garden- You are wonderful, bless you. Thank you. I too am amazed at how many recognized the person by their initials.

I think that this 'gesture' was only partly to get his wife back. I think the true alternative goal was to fill a little black book with names of girls who want to take his mind off of her. Likely well worth the money in investment terms, too. ;-) Second best scheme I ever heard of.

I saw this previously up in the thread: "Can someone tell me what the "Corps Coordinators" did, as opposed to the Corps _DIRECTOR_?" "I remember reading in _The Way: Living in Love_ that Duncan was the "coordinator of the second year (First) Corps, while Martindale was coordinator of the first year (Second) Corps. Both these guys were in the Way Corps training program at the time. At some point Martindale became the Corps _Director_ succeeding George Jess. Also, Don Wierwille was the "dean" of the Emporia campus, and there have been "campus coordinators" at the training centers. " I thought that Steve Strezpec was the Corps Director. That is what he told me at one time. [in fact the second and last time that I ever spoke with him. I have spoken with him for a total of maybe 10 minutes in my life.] The first time I met him, I exposed his public lies to the branch, so he annonced that I was born of Adversary's seed. The second time I met him, he did not remember me.

I am glad that many here were such 'insiders' that they can recognize one another by 2 letter initials. And that they were up on all the dirt. Did any of this help the thousands that you were ministering to?
-
Radar O'Reilly: "I agree with your basic premise. Often times the "joe believer" types were completely aware of certain leadership types reputations. The twi followers were close with one another, and we tended to keep up with our dear friends by phone, mail and of course roa." I was followign th etopic until here. The lowly Joe Beleiver was aware of leadership's reputations? How? If you 'Joe Beleiver' have never seen /heard of some 'leader' how did you know about them? I dont think that 'Joe' had contacts with other followers in all other states, so that with a few phone calls he could find out all the dirt on some 'leader'. If you moved around TWI every year for each different assignment, and met all your friends again each year at the Rock, Than I dont see that as being the average beleiver. Sorry. That sounds to me like someone who had been drinking the coolaid for a number of years and had either gone WOW numerous times, or was a corpse themselves. :-)

Pirate- “ … all women really want …. ” For the life of me I can not seem to think of a good sentence that I could say being with that phrase that would not get me in trouble with my wife. “He says that deep down all women really want to be rescued.” So he thinks that he has finally discovered the secret motivation for females. LOL “…men are "wild at heart" because Adam was created in the wild … Women are more domesticated because Eve was created in the garden …” Yeah that should go over real good here on Greasespot Caf?BR> “Clark said, adding that treating women as a figurine rather that the personal image of God will hurt relationships over time.” Could be.

simonzelotes: "This is sort of off-topic,but isn't there sort of a 'guideline' that a young man should spend roughly three months salary on his bride-to-be's engagement ring?...If so,where did that come from?...That seems like a lot of dollars to spend to express one's love...." I have heard that said. The thing is though diamonds have only recently came into vogue and it was mostly due to Ad campaigns of the diamond industry. When I was in need of wedding rings, I went out with my bride to be. We shopped together. If she really wanted to be spending huge amounts of her budget, then I was prepared to go along with it. As it turned out, she was very frugal :-) I have since had the honor of escorting a couple sailors who were intent on purchasing wedding rings to propose with. After first looking through catalogs, then a couple jewlery stores [keeping note of carat weight, purity of gold, weight of gold, and price], we then went to pawn-shops. If a pawn-shop has an ultra-sonic cleaner, those weddings ring sets will be far cheaper for the same carat wieght, purity and weight of gold. Not saying that you want to be cheap, and you certainly want to stay away from anything fake. But the jewelry industry does have a lot of mark-up. Buying used is often a much better deal. Spend a couple grand for an item that goes for 5-times as much in name-brand stores.
