Jonny Lingo: "Oh c'mon Galen, I am just bein' funny. I am thinking that there are folks here who are not familiar with the things that we have see as sailors, that's all. I have been a merchant seaman since I was sixteen (1973), and have been around the horn a time or two. Just thought I would spice up things a bit. I know that God has given to us inherently is not nasty or evil..." I'm sure by now 'everyone' has head of playing 'smile', it just worked out that I never did. On the other hand, I was a little surprized that your post did not mention the standard 'dog and pony' shows. :-) your the greatest.

LOL Give me a break, no not offended at all. I guess reading through it now, it may well give that impression though, sorry. :-)

Jonny Lingo: " ... you Galen, maybe you spent a little too much time in the Navy with those nasty little sailor boys, hmmm?" Proud to have served, honoured to have known and ministered to so many professional men. " ... And where did you learn those naughty little sayings Galen, hmmm?" Out and about, on and underneath great oceans. " ... From those naughty little oriental girls in the Far East?" Never been to the Far East. I have lived underneath the Med, and spent a good deal of time, many times under the arctic circle. And then I have served in the UK, and then in Europe. Observed various methods of 'mistreating' Christian Albanian women, at the hands of the Muslims we were defending. Now they did some 'nasty' things to those girls. I dont really view it as 'nasty' when the girls are of age and willing. It is only 'nasty' when they are too young and un-willing. I have seen 'nasty', and I have seen un-nasty. " ... I heard that they would do it for just a bar of soap! I'll bet you have lots of naughty little secrets Galen" Would not surprise me at all. It is a really big world out there, many cultures and many completely different sets of morals. " ... Did you ever play "smile" in those dens of iniquity, hmmm Galen?" No I have not. I have been to a few "Dog-and-pony" shows. [well actually they used burrows, I dont know if they had a shortage of ponys or what, but the dogs were real dogs, the girls were real girls, just that burrows had been swapped for the 'pony' part] " ... And how about those naughty little girls that shoot ping pong balls, hmm?" Yes, in Mexico and in Italy, I have seen very talented wonderful ladies shooting ping-pong balls into the air, from jets of air issued from their 'neither regions'. Blowing out candles, and many other things that were far worse and no doubt beyond the appropriate discussion for this board. " ... Could it be that this whole thread has fallen into the hands of.....SATAN" No, I dont think so. To honestly speak of that which does go on in this world, is not evil in and of itself. Even when discussing this very topic, have you not observed one married wife discussing what she was going to do, to better her performance of her wifely duties? Do you not think that others have likewise read the same threads and thought of it? Has it never occured to you that we are in fact providing an educational service? Sex is not evil, Our God created our bodies and then said that all He made was 'Good'. That good includes our physical bodies. If your mind is in the gutter then all you see is dirt in the gutter, if you place your mind in 'fellowship' then all you see is the possible good around you. What men and women do, willingly and un-forced, how can that be 'nasty' or 'evil'? :-) The real question is why are you 'channeling' the church-lady?

Personal Prophecy in the Way and Christian Educational Services (CES)
Galen replied to Clearwater's topic in About The Way
From what I have seen/heard, the Mormon PPs are commonly into the far-reaching or looking far into the future kinds of fore-telling stuff. Like stuff to be written down and reviewed in coming years kind of stuff. Done during ordinations, or right before an 18year old goes off to enlist in the military, or when an 18 year old goes out on his missionary field. -

diazbro- yes, yes, and yes. In my case, the first that I heard about it, or was taught it was coming from a Mormon. They have practiced such for a long time. But realistically, anytime that a 'laying-on-of-hands' type ceremony was done, it would seem to many as appropriate for the ministering person to prophecy. And it would seem 'logical' that whatever was said during that 'word-of-prophecy' would be stuff directed 'at' the person having hands laid on them. At least that is how I have seen it play-out. Mind you, I have never seen it done within CES, either. Just other places. :-) -
Radar O'Reilly: " ... Seems to me like there was a line from a movie once about someone with lips that could "suck the skin right off a banana." " Do you mean like when a woman can suck the crome off a trailer-hitch? Or when she can suck a golf-ball through a garden hose? Ooops, I did a no no. I knew that there were many phrase like this. So after asking Bonnie if she could think of a few. I Googled the "suck the crome off a trailer-hitch" phrase. Oh my goodness.

This is certainly an area where the first to get a lawyer, is often the only 'winner'. I did see once where a guy quickly took a day-off and flew to San Diego, then crossed into Mexico, paid $20 for a divorce, and returned home. Shut-down all joint-accounts and credit-cards [Of course, the wife had maxed out all cards and emptied the accounts anyway]. When they all got into court months later, his lawyer was able to lay that on the court. What do you mean? this couple has been divorced since 3 months ago, and has been providing support since then, only to the federal guidlines of support. Blew the ex-wife's claims out of the water. He was a real 'winner' in the scene. He only had to pay-off the $5,000 in bad debt from the credit cards, the back-payments on rent and his car, and after that his alimony was only $500/month. A much better deal than he would have gotten from the courts, had they determined an amount. Good luck. :-)

Steve!: "Galen, you didn't read that right. "What socks said was that "if folks were listening to PFAL, they'd know that once born again, ya can't die spiritually" was one of the clearest points taught." Ooops.
-
socks: "This is true, Oldiesman. In PFAL it was certainly one of the clearest points taught." I am going to have to throw the penalty flag on this call. PFAL DOES NOT state that if you go to an area without twigs then you will die spiritually. PFAL does teach about: 'standing' and 'state'. One deals with spritual birth and your place in the Heavenly family. The other deals with you current closeness to Our Heavenly Father, which could be accomplished in a Twig, or in a church or anywhere the two or more beleivers can fellowship together. Within PFAL it really does not say a specific method of 'how' or 'what' you must do to stay close to Our Creator, just that it is needed. :-) We have certainly gone to many areas where there was not an existing twig, that did not stop us from starting a twig. Nor did anyone every tell us that doing such would harm us. I dont doubt that some idiot told you such, but they were not quoting PFAL, when they did it.

Radar O'Reilly: "I think Al is making a joke, and the Hummers he is referring to are the CARS!!" Oh, and I see, but I did not think that cars were the topic :-)

Been a while since I last saw a price list. The last time a pricelist was explained to me [2001] this sort of thing would have been one pack of Marlboro cigarettes. Four packs would have gotten you a girl for all night. Of course that is on the Italian economy. I did not think it was such a terribly expensive proposition to get a hummer at those prices.

Belle: " ... He's single and has pretty good taste so all the men in the neighborhood watch to see when he's getting lucky." Good for him. Now are you sure the other men of your neighborhood are out to check-out his new squeeze, of are they checking-out you!! "I believe I e-mailed you a picture of me, so you would not be able to find it in the forums, although there is a new picture of Bob and me at the beach recently over there." I knew that I had seen you, and I was fairly certian that I had said at the time that you are a babe. But when posting, I could not find the photo and I was trying to make a point from what pictures other posters can easily obtain. You are great and great looking too. Thanks for the private photo, you certainly get heart-rates increasing when you down down the streets of your neighborhood. ;-)

Yes, I checked them. I have instant emails sent to me, everytime someone PTs me. So if you do PT me, then you dont need to also say it in the thread. I would recommend that EVERYONE do this also. Bless you. Man all this talk about oral sex, really reminds me of when I was dating. That was a long time ago. :-)
-
Radar O'Reilly: "... IT IS ALL ABOUT ORAL SEX!!" I beleive that I said this previosuly: "She looks so good, only one way that her face would look any better, that is with her lips wrapped around ... "
-
Belle: "I also think Angelina Jolie is one very hot, beautiful pig and wouldn't mind looking like her one bit.....big lips and all." Okay fine. I dis-agree, but fine. I guess if everyone says so. I just looked through some of the pictures on the picture threads. ... is a knock-out!!! Cindy! stops traffic. ... both need to carry big-sticks if they ever want to walk around near a Navy base [just to keep the guys at a distance]. Maybe I am the only one, who does not think that the movie stars are so 'hot'. I thought that I once saw a photo of Belle, but I can't find it right now. But I'm tell you, at least in my deranged little world, there are some fine ladies here on GS, and others can be found everywhere. I am certain that there are far more ladies who do have their photos here on GS, and I simply failed to locate them this afternoon, I apologize for not listing all of you. I just dont see the attraction of those who require putty and spray-paint and so much work to be presentable, when great looking babes are right here, that dont need all that other stuff. I'll shut-up now. :-)
-
Yes. ma'am. I apologize. Hmm, one is compared to a greyhound, long sleak muscular sexy. Another is compared to a sheepdog, shaggy uh, ... They must BOTH be wonderful dogs, to be used in comparison to such wonderful people. I think it is time for me to shut-up. Bye.

Commonly while registering for classes, the college office will also hand you a stack of paperwork [that is also required] that applies for Pell Grants and I think puts your name in the bucket for the local community grants bucket. Our eldest had to fill-out a bunch of that junk when he started college. Our next one has a couple years to go.

Radar O'Reilly: "Waterbuffalo, ... I cannot think of an animal that more closely resembles you. Beautiful, elegant.....and a total companion." She said that she and her perfect dog are: "I'm an Italian Greyhound, a dainty and affectionate housepet" That sounds nice, dont need to rag on her. Maybe she is dainty and affectionate, I dont know. :-)

sharon: "I should stop, get off the web but this is really making me " It is 'making' you? If I take a loaf of bread, can I further 'make' it into a loaf of bread? OR is it a loaf of bread still? Relax just playing with you. :-) "In approximately 40-50 percent of his meetings angels appear as witnessed by those who attended. In one meeting over 300 attendees witnessed a cherub in the room." Do they share from the same Hooka? Or are multiple hookas mounted in the pews and we just pass the mouthpiece up and down the pew? Maybe when filing into the hall, we pass by a really big bong and everyone takes a big hit. You know there are chemicals that you could just paint onto the hymnals, so that everytime people pick up the hymnals they begin seeing things. Does attending their services preclude anyone from having a job that requires peeing in a cup? :-) -

Hammeroni: I think that anyone who walks around with a name-tag proclaiming that they are thee prophet of a ministry, so just a little too self-important. I would probably not last too long in such a fellowship. My understanding was that we can ALL prophecy [assuming that we are all in-fellowship and that we each beleive to]. Obviously now since I have spent time here on GreaseSpot Cafe, I have come to realize that many were 'prophecying' knowingly falsehoods. After having read so many confessions of people who faked what they did. It never really occured to me that anyone would do that. We can see where anyone of us can be tricked, so many beleivers and yet so many differing opinions of how to worship. Presuming that there is a single method which is better, than obviously all other methods must be somewhat less than best. With so many opposing doctrines, there must be churches out there teaching completely wrong stuff. If their leaders truly beleive what they teach [which assumes that they are not 'faking' their ministrys, like so many previous leaders in TWI did], then when they do prophecy some of it MUST be wrong. I had assumed [yes I know what assuming does] that this passage was talking about any fellowship, where 2 or 3 stand to give words of either prophecy or interpretation. That everyone else is to listen and judge. If you find 'fault' then quitely afterwards and politely speaking at length with the 'prophet', to see if the issue can be resolved. Obviously interupting any service, whether in my home, or at a big hall, would not be decent and orderly. If this came from the leader of a big ministry, then I would presume that you've heard the guy speak before you came to this one meeting. If you think his doctrine is off, have you spoken with him about it? Have you spoken with others? Why are you still supporting him then? "Obviously there are more than five prophets present- three speak, "others" judge. Not impossible I suppose, but to me it would be out of the ordinary to have five prophets running amok in a little local fellowship somewhere.." Again, are not we all each one of us, a prophet, or a pastor, or a healer, or a recruiter, or a teacher? Even if we are not currently energizing our personal ministry, we still have some type of ministry. "Plus- I've been thinking about some of the instructions we got about prophecy. Here its not "if any man should speak" like with tongues and interpretation- here they are specifically named, "prophets"." No doubt you've been in fellowships wherein one person was really good at prayer for your healing. Did you hang a sign around their neck? Likely not. So you did not proclaim them to be a 'healer'. But if someone was in need, who did you send them to? Obviously the person whom you knew to have a long-suit at healing. The 'healer'. Ever have a grease-monkey in your fellowship who had really terrible social-skills, but that his prophecys were just wonderful? He had a great heart to help everyone and just kept wanting to give to others? Did anyone write 'prophet' on his name-tag? I doubt it. [actually I was just describing a guy we once had in our twig, he lives in Detroit now]. "I remember ole doc's instructions, that this is "the best guidance" we have for operation of "the regular" manifestation of prophecy- I kind of question this now though." Really you dont see it? your great you know that right? :-) -

Clearwater: "I agree that true prophecy or a personal prophecy should be right 100% of the time if it from the true God." My understanding is that any true prophecy from Our Heavenly Father must be 100% true. It is also my understanding that we are each to stand and judge what doctrines and prophecys each other says. 1 Corinthians 6:1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 1 Corinthians 10:14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 15I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 14:29 29Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. So if prophets each speak, and everyone else judges what has been said, isn't the purpose of that judging to pay strict attention and determine if it is 100% true? :-) -
Tom Strange: " ... As far as Angelina Jolie goes... " "...you have to admit she's a beautiful pig!" No I really dont have to. Seeing photos of ladies from this site, we have better looking babes than she. ;-)
-
ChasUFarley: "I would think it would be attitude that would make women more attractive to men than just their ... whatever... " You are correct. [but dont tell anyone] I do stand by my earlier idea: I see drop-dead gorgeous ladies on the streets, I dont get why they dont 'pick' naturally gorgeous ladies instead of movie-stars who when on the street, look terrible. The other evening between Sci-Fi and CMT we stopped for a minute watching a make-up artist transform a pimple-covered girl into a clone of Britney Spears. They puttied the dimples and used an air-brush to paint her skin to a nice even tan. The way they can do those things, is really amazing.

HCW: "Speaking as one who's been served and divorced twice, I would echo the physically and emotionally exhausting comments." I am very thankful that I have not had to go through such myself. It did appear to be terribly draining to each man that I had opportunity to minister to, as they went through those divorces. What I saw was certainly the financail side of it all. WOW !! Now that is nasty. Commonly we wrote letters to the courts and copies of financial statements, and so much work to get alimony and child-support levels to down below the men's Gross income. We were usually very happy if we could eventually get it all reduced down so the men could keep a fourth of their pay. We have often had guys sleeping on our couch, to keep them off the streets. Having a dependant intitles a servicemember to money for housing, but once that money is paid to the servicemember [and then re-directed to the ex-spouse due to court-order], then the servicemember can no longer get a room at the barracks either. The military is not going to pay twice, to house a servicemember and his dependents. The same goes for food. In Naples 'Paul' [a guy who worked for me] was six months without pay, while we tried to get the court-ordered alimony down to less than his Gross income. When we finally did, Paul still had to pay off all the back alimony from before the amount of awarded alimony was reduced. Fortunately for him, working in Naples was not security clearance stuff, we were just doing Law Enforcment; otherwise Paul would have lost his clearances and thus his career.

Xena: "Do you think divorce is ever "God's will"? Not the general practice of divorce, but maybe in individual cases? In the story of Abigail, she is married to a major bad person, yet she continues to be the good wife, until he dies. It seems like God would have / could have told Abigail to get out of that situation, if it had been His "will". I have heard other women refer to Abigail as the perfect wife, but I don't want to be like her." Is there ever really truly one single golden path that G-d has in mind for us to walk? I dont think so. With every breath I take, every step some choice is being made, with each choice I think that I more narrowly define my life and the future possibilities that will befall me. [if I am mean to you today, it will set the pattern for tomorrow's meeting, which will set the pattern for next week's ... ] I would like to think that as I walk with my creator, that I make 'good' choices. But I seem to think that I really dont. I pray, I meditate, I try to listen; I plan and I act. Is any of it really truly G-d's Will? I do think that no matter where I go, and what I do physically; I can walk a little closer to heaven spiritually. But that rarely effects what I am doing physically. I would like to think that, 'IF' I was listening when I dated a girl, I should have been able to tell if she was right for me. But more often than not we date people based on something else [lust]. I think that there is a path down which a newly wed couple could walk, wherein they could find happiness, companionship and love. And in that context then every marriage does have the possibility for being that 'RIGHT' one. I also think that in life we almost never do actually walk exactly where would be the best for us. Likewise I dont always treat Bonnie as a 'wonderful woman of God' that she is. I think that I try. Is it possible that a married couple can be together so long and walk so far apart that they can never be 'one-flesh' again? Yes, I think so. Is it possible that sometimes one or both partners, grow mean spirited and grow to hate the other? Yes, I think so. In that case, what is the profit in staying togehter? None. But does that mean they were never made for each other? No, I think they were at one point. It is just that one or both partners did not focus on staying 'one-flesh'. Once you get to that point, if you did want to walk out and minister to others, or heal others, or lead any kind of 'christ-like' life, somehow you would have to walk away from the 'bad' marriage. St. Paul did [and I find it interesting that the Bible does not give us any details because those details were not important]. :-)
