  1. I see Yankee fans are gloating. Thanks.
  2. The Yanks just swept the Red Sox. Either the Bambino is back, or they used voodoo like in Major League, or something like that. My wife thinks I am a sore loser. I am not. Well, Raf, according to posts I am reading, this must be making you happy! I think the Yanks need a curse. Have them visit TWI HQ. Nah. I couldn't even do that to them. Red Sox, get moving before the Yanks catch up before the season is out! Eagle
  3. True, A born-again Christian can be influenced by devil spirits but not possessed. There is a major difference.
  4. Here is a dilemma. You have God's holy spirit residing in you. You are the Temple of God, Christ in you, the hope of glory. It is God's tabernacle. Can you get possessed by a devil spirit? Remember, giving the adversary, the devil, the ability to have "seed" of the serpent anywhere at any time makes him equal with God. To have a devil spirit come in and take over God's tabernacle makes him more powerful than God. Ever wonder about this? Eagle
  5. I knew I should leave when I wanted to start hitting people. I'm not joking. With a mindset like that, swinging back against verbal assaults and general tyranny, it was not God's ministry. I wanted to be delivered FROM that, not delivered INTO it. Eagle Eagle
  6. On a more serious note...this thread was supposed to be entertaining and it was until I heard of the passing of John Shroyer. Now I don't feel like joking about this anymore. In reality, and I mean this, with a heart like his, I would have wanted him to take over the Way. I refer you now to the In Memoriam section on this post.
  7. Prediction: The Boston Red Sox will be in the series this year and most likely will win.
  8. It was a pretty good ministry at one time, but since we saw a lot of adulterous activity going on, despite all that, the living would have been the sincere followers trying to actually do something for God. Yes, the infrastructure and most of its legalistic mindset people would have to be let go. Letters sent to all still in TWI that the doctrine, all doctrine, would be looked over again, no more mark and avoid and an apology, anyone with friends buried there have free access to the gravesites 24/7, forced tithing done away with and so on, just free will giving. Turn Way Corps into a more serving organization, not a self serving one. Reinstate WOW, and so on. Who would be the best to do this? dmiller, you did have a very good point. The only life IMHO were those taken in that seriously wanted to do something for God. And the others that had the same opinion also had a very good point.
  9. You Write it and I'll post it on my website! I'll buy it, too!
  10. If it was made possible to take over TWI as president after RR, who in Greasespot would be your choice. I did this post before and the responses were mostly to become president so they could tear it down. This time you have to make a go of it and bring it back to life. What would you do to bring it back to life and who would you pick to do it? I'd be interested to see this.
  11. WG: Sorry to hear about your diabetes. Same reasons I had for leaving. Eagle
  12. Thanks Jeaniam and pond for more serious replies. I wasn't joking about this piece of doctrine from the Bible. I wonder how others think of it?
  13. I know where VPW thinks he got "Seed of the Serpent," but his interpretation of it is bizarre IMHO. Does his belief of the devil getting people "born again" of himself, unholy spirit, sound rather bizarre to you?
  14. The Texas Rangers, behind 3-0, came back pretty good. Final Score - 30-3. This is baseball we are talking about, NOT football. First 30 run score since 1897.
  15. Just interested in asking greasespotters if they have any old information on the Lake of Fire from TWI or any other church.
  16. Well George, I do believe the commas and periods and how men rewrote or interpreted events in the Bible do matter and are not anal-retentive. I guess I misunderstood what you meant.
  17. Coolchef: I agree, only prayer keeps this country intact, though I can't say how long God will give us on that. The Return, maybe?
  18. George Aar hit it right on the nose. Why would God spread a bunch of different crucified or different denials here and there in four different gospelas that are supposed to be telling the same story? I believe as George does, that God does not do that. It would make no sense. He would more plainly tell it and there are only three denials of Peter in each gospel that records the denials. I don't think it was an attack on anyone or God or anyone, just an observation, and a great one at that. Thanks, George. But I appreciate those that still want to believe the six denials. It shows they still have an interest in the gospels.
  19. Sunesis, It is always good to read that book since scripture quoted it once, perhaps as an historical book, I'm not sure. Maybe it should have been included with the Old Testament, but I'd have to read it to figure out why it would or would not be included. But Enoch seems to be a great source of information which Heron did use. I'll do that search on the Nephilim here at GS out of curiosity. People do come up with good information. Eyes Open, thanks. Hope you get the time to read it. I know you are busy with your own book which I hope is posted here at GS. I'll post it on my website.
  20. What TWI taught on anything is not what was practiced. What a shame.
  21. I would agree the VPW did it for that reason, to point out no contradictions in the Bible. However, he brought forth more contradictions on his explanation. Nice try, though.

    I'm coming out

Okay RG! I'm coming out, too! I'm a welfare-hating, gay-bashing, homophobe that wants to nuke Iraq! I'm coming out as one sick puppy!
  23. Anyone read Patrick Heron's best-selling book, which ended up on DVD with Grizzly Adams Productions (GAP)? It can be picked up in any bookstore pretty much now. The rights to his book were bought by a U.S. publisher for mass distribution in the U.S. It is called The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse. Pretty good fascinating book. It is about the giants of Genesis Six. The doctrine he presents is not taught in most churches, but in many it is. His view on it is unique. I liked the book a lot. I agree with Bullinger, Schoenheit and Heron on this topic. Wierwille never taught on that.
  24. Larry, I think you bring up a valid point. Why would an athiest be interested in doctrinal issues, perhaps? A lot of them seek out the Bible to either prove or disprove it. If proven, they will believe the Bible, If they feel they disprove it, then they seek out alleged contradictions in the Bible, such as problems with the different gospel records on the number crucified, Peter's denials and where and when things are and point to them as doctrines of men due to inconsistencies. On another side, after some of the problems in my church, I have seen a better heart from some athiests than those professing to be Christian including some Christian ministers. A lot to talk about.
  25. Joel Osteen, Charles Stanley and my wife likes Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer.
