Hi Bob: There were still a lot of good people in TWI and Mrs. Wierwille was definitely one of them. Personal experience. I'm glad everyone acted with respect at her funeral when LCM was there. Regardless of how we felt about this guy, I do believe he wanted to see her one last time. It probably broke him up about her passing away. But those that said he shouldn't have shown up are probably right. Even though there were those that treated LCM with respect this day, it no doubt made them uncomfortable. He would have done better to send respects in writing to the family and left them all alone. His policies were the reason the Wierwille's went through hell in her last days trying to make her comfortable.

Thanks Oldies and Robes: Robert Frost was a genius, my favorite poet of all time. I forgot about my sign off. I guess appropriate for the occasion. I've got to go out to load trucks again. Katrina effort in full swing up here in Michigan and Northern Toledo. Weekend work. It's fun though. I committed to this prior to Mrs. Wierwille passing away. Couldn't leave the rest of the guys hanging without help on the trucks. So I didn't attend the Visitation or the Memorial this weekend. I send my regards and deepest sympathies to the Wierwille family. My feelings were posted on the website Memorial. It was all I could do at this time. Our trucks are headed to a Florida drop off point and Biloxi, Mississippi. I wish the best at the Memorial today for Mrs. Wierwille. I know a lot of us are unable to attend.

The Way International did post a Memorial to Mrs. Dorothea Wierwille on their website under "Current News". It is a very good history and memorial. They did a very good job on it. I posted one on my site in her memory based on my personal experience with her. Please bear in mind that through this tragedy I am not promoting my site. Please also bear in mind that expressing love and support for the Wierwille family at this time is not "worship" of the Wierwilles". Today is a day to respect her memory and that is what I wanted to do. I hope the Wierwille family will seem the memorial article appropriate. It is at: The Woman Who Is A Spiritual Giant God Bless Mrs. Wierwille, the Wierwille family, and all at Greasespot. Eagle

Hi Def: Not sure if the pastor that left our church became bishop. There was a pastor a while back that did leave the church but some of the older folk there said the church was dying. Then they got a new pastor and it took off. So, probably not. They do have pretty good uplifting and practical teachings.

Exie, We LOVE YOU. Please come back. Entertain us with your charm and wit. I have charm but I don't have wit. Well, maybe half your wit. That somehow didn't sound right. I am not a half wit and that is not what I meant. Really, this place has a big hole without you. I wouldn't "ex-communicate" you from anything. Wow, what happened? God Bless you, Exie. Eagle

It was me, wasn't it? She left because I joined Grease spot. Or did she find out I was a paranoid schizoprenic? Is she out to get me? Did she disappear from Greasespot to come out to my house to take me out? Did she find out I was a Republican? Is that the reason she wants to kill me? Wait, gotta take my meds...there it is...much better... Exie, did you leave to have your chair reupholstered? Why? What's in that chair? And what does it have to do with me? Is Exie really Janet Reno?

Was TWI doctrine correct? No.

CFF is another great one. Doctrine wise, they are Wierwillian, but they are not TWI and are far better than they are. I believe by now they may have surpassed membership in numbers as far as TWI because TWI kept losing and CFF kept gaining. The people are generally kinder and old Way Corps habits are discouraged. There were a few times where one fellowship with old TWI leadership tried to take over another for whatever reason but this is strongly discouraged by John Shroyer. There is a lot of grace in the ministry and the people are generally friendly. I personally am not into VPW doctrine anymore but I respect those that want to believe it as long as they are nice about it. It should be just fine to join the group.

I believe CES is a great organization. I am thrilled to hear Momentus is history. They are busy building a Bible college and it takes a lot of work. They do have some of the best research available.

Read it and enjoyed it. Had lunch with Karl and his son in Toledo. His son is extremely intelligent and Karl has done good by him. It was a pleasure to be in his company and buy his book.

Hi Jan: My wife and I attend Northpoint Church in Toledo. We're involved in disaster relief right now. It is a United Brethren church and has pretty good teachings. The pastors are usually graduates of Moody Bible Institute.

Where is Exie? Is she on vacation? I left for a while to do a project and cam back. No Exie. This bums me out. She had so many posts ... did she max herself out of GS? Eagle

Well, I admit I tried walking on water once, in college, at Ohio State on Mirror Lake, over twenty-five years ago. I shouldn't have been drinking before trying it, though. There is nothing worse than waking up to a 400 pound fat woman giving you CPR and wondering if she used her tongue. I don't remember too much, except I believe I might have been able to run across the water like Remo Williams. Either that or upon waking up to the the female Jabba the Hut, might have leaped over the lake to the other side. I don't know.

Is TWI Getting Better or is it About the Same, or Worse?
Eagle replied to Eagle's topic in About The Way
Whoa, great postings here. I had to admit that the absence of hearing about a scandal does not necessarily mean scandals are not there. I guess you are right. I went blinded for years never hearing any of it, and at the end when I heard of some of them, I did not believe them. I left the ministry and still had a tough time believing them. I guess I would like to believe by now that the current BOD are not sexual predators like their "predator-sessors". -
One always wonders when TWI buys property in Toledo that LCM is someday returning, and was gone long enough to rid themselves of lawsuits. I have heard of no scandals, to my knowledge of the current BOD at TWI. The believers are friendlier than ten years ago, too. Is it better leadership there? Or is it the same?

I don't think it would be considered hero worship to display the affection and respect Mrs. Wierwille earned all of her life. I know she of course supported the Way International. Her husband founded it and how can you not? Well, in the end, I guess she did not, pretty much isolated as her family was kept from her own home. I am hoping J.P. or another Wierwille family member, most likely in another ministry, that knew her well, could write a book about her heart and life. I would buy that in a heartbeat. I knew Mrs. Wierwille better than VPW. I personally saw her love the unlovable. I am not making this up. Whatever "faults she had I don't even want to think about, because I don't need to know them now. She was truly born to serve. The Wierwille family might be able to remove VPW from his site at the fountain of living waters (as bad as that sounds) and have him re-interred with Mrs. Wierwille in a much more pleasant and suitable place where family and friends can pay respects unhindered. Not sure if that would happen or not. But I do hope Mrs. Wierwille stays with us as long as possible and pain-free. I have pleasant memories of this lady. She made TWI look pretty good by her presence, and when she was absent, the darkness was certainly felt in that organization.

I really hate people protesting soldiers, especially dead ones. This happened to me coming back from Vietnam and I have hated every anti-war protestor that did that and have a tough time forgetting it. I need God to help me on this. I am not sure why Phelps was protesting this funeral. Something about Phelps being anti-gay. Was this soldier gay and killed in battle? Not sure. If he was, it gives no right to grieve the family so much. This is real cruelty. What the hell did this soldier do to Phelps, anyway? Phelps is ever so way off on AIDS. The first mention of any virus used to attack the immune system was mentioned in a Defense document in 1970 as a possible biological weapon to use against superpower enemies like the then Soviet Union. Strangely enough, it cropped up in Africa in 1974 to 1975 and hit the United States via a male steward in 1977. It is believed, no proof, but believed, that African monkeys were used to inject the virus into as experimental subjects and when the virus did not kill them, they were released into the jungle, immune, but carrying the virus. Some African tribes captured monkeys and actually ate their brains as a delicacy - raw. The brain is the best place for the virus to fester, and the virus was possibly passed to African people easily passing through unclean oral tissues into the bloodstream. The virus was then spread by sexual contact with women. It was originally a heterosexual disease and was only a gay disease in the United States for a number of years before becoming pretty much everyone's disease that had contact. So JFK, RFK, and Marilyn Monroe died prior to the existence of this virus. It did not exist anywhere and no credible record exists of this virus prior to 1974. Did the United States start it all? Who the hell knows. Whatever the case, Phelps is bizarre, and there is no right to be a nuisance at a funeral. Free Speech does not cover that. Eagle

Thanks guys, Scott and Heather took the money we gave them as a present and...bought us a present. We got two DVD movies, one being French Kiss with Meg Ryan and another comedy with Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell, kind of goofy, but then again, Scott likes that stuff. I think Heather picked out French Kiss for "Mom" (my wife Debbie) and Scott picked out the comedy for me, bless his heart. I don't enjoy those comedies but I am not letting him know that. I'll watch it and say it was great. The movies arrived on Deb's birthday today, her 49th. It might have something to do with that. But whatever, the couple seems pretty greatful for the wedding and short honeymoon we gave them. We are grateful they have such big hearts for such challenged individuals.

My mentally challenged step-son, Scott, was married this past Saturday to a girl named Heather. One year ago he found her at a homeless shelter and moved her in to his apartment that was supplied by the county. While not the most Christian way of doing things, they decided to get married two months ago to our surprise. Heather was homeless due to being abandoned by her family at age sixteen. She is a very beautiful girl but has many of the same problems Scott had. No one, including her family, wanted her, so Scott, having the limited intelligence but big heart he had, moved her into his own apartment. Scott slept on the floor while giving her his bed for months. They began dating after a couple of months, and the two connected easily. Finally, they decided to get married and called a minister and were going to get married next to a trailer in a backwoods town. My wife (his mother) and I heard about their wedding plans and took them over, moving the wedding to a secluded bed and breakfast where they were married under a beautiful blue sky surrounded by trees and flowers in a rustic setting. Scott wore a tux we rented for him. My wife bought Heather an amazing looking white wedding dress. Heather went from homeless with torn clothing and rags to looking like Cinderella. The look on their faces was worth all the money spent on it. Shortly after he got back from his two day stay at the Bed and Breakfast we paid for as a gift, Scott found out a job with the state of Ohio was waiting for him. Since he is disabled, it is a job under supervision and part time, but he was ecstatic that someone would let him work for them. He always was depressed for being fired for being too slow at jobs and being turned down due to his obvious slow appearance. We are still working on Scott even though he is married. But God has been helping us greatly. I wish the greatest blessings to Scott and Heather in their new life together. Heather has adopted my wife and I as her new parents, sort of. Eagle

I don't buy the one year ministry of Jesus Christ and do suspect he had three and a half years. I have the tapes "Harmony of the Gospels but doubt it was done in one year. I believe the record of all four gospels crosses the traditional view of three and a half years. Just a thought. I am still studying it.

You guys are all grossing me out with this pizza talk. My wife and I ordered some tonight but now I don't feel like it. She is eating it downstairs and I'm drinking orange juice now.
