Well throwing science articles at him seemed odd

I got the comfort/nomad argument from Nomads. Living in a van. Give up comfort, you have more freedom to move.
-
I posted it in hopes of getting clarity from Allan on his thinking. Like I said.

The car stuff was about the "vaccine". Just an illustration.
-
Well you just used religious jargon as a shield.

I don't think the self driving ignores the human need for control - it highlights it. Whatever lifetime it does happen in- that generation will have that discussion and eventually people won't think about it. I was postulating fear and resistance to change. An entity might be felt . . . Hence the "God-given" phrase two posters have brought up. Perhaps they feel controlled by the social shaming.
-
Allan's position remains unclear to me.
-
Can we be more specific? This guy is celebrated all over social media for contrarianism. At the center of that was a malignant narcissist/borderline.
-
I would agree a time a fear is a great opportunity for implementing social controls.

It is my understanding people used to not get on elevators that didn't have an operator. They were uncomfortable with the idea technology would work at the push of a button and keep them safe. They chose the stairs. But elevator operators are rare now, and I don't know anyone with such a fear. It is also going to be hard to convince folks cars drive safer without a person behind the wheel. New technology will dominate the roads someday. That may not feel right. But it is logical. The idea that vaccines and other medical technology will increasingly be created at faster rates may feel weird too.

Are you saying getting the vaccine is equivalent or analogous to joining a cult? Awhile ago you were bragging about your God-given immunity abilities. As predestination was involved.

WANTED: Seasoned Ex-Corps Leaders to Come Back
Bolshevik replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
This I think gets back to healing from narcissistic abuse involves confronting ones own narcissism. VPW told everyone they were superior to Jesus via his teaches . . . God loves you you are the best . . Blah blah blah . . . Idealization idealization idealization. -

In the abuse cycle. . . Idealization switches to devaluation so swiftly by the narcissist that the abused, in shock, desperately cling to the return to the idealization phase. Missing those initial times, thinking those experiences were real, thinking it is something they did wrong, thinking there is something they can do fix the situation. Not understanding the internal world of the narcissist operates to the beat of it's own fantasy drum. When people cling to hope for change I tend to think they are make themselves open to the hoovering. And perhaps some are so used the cycle it is the only thing they know. -
https://quoteinvestigator.com/2017/11/30/salary/ I think a lot of folks simply play dumb.

This is a teleological viewpoint. Did you know the pilgrims didn't invite the Natives to share in the harvest? The Natives heard gunfire and came running and were like, oh, you're having a party without us? BYOB, we get it.

WANTED: Seasoned Ex-Corps Leaders to Come Back

A harem is part of a political system where a number of children are born by numerous women and expected to execute each other until one remains for the right to rule. -
"God-given" word associates with "rights" in my mind. Maybe there is more to it. Immunity can be used as a biological weapon as has been done, intentionally and unintentiolly, in the past. Such as with Native Americans. I'm assuming most modern individuals have a basic understanding of how the immune system and vaccines work. If we understand something we understand that it can be turned into a weapon. Anytime there is a threat to life of any sort - freedoms are often sacrificed to deal with it. This can be reasonable or unreasonable. I tend to think some see a greater threat than the virus. But can't say what it is.
-
Like when I mentioned helmets earlier because we have skulls? I think this is a safety/comfort vs freedom argument. What the hell does god-given mean? Yes the vaccine will save lives.
-
There's a covid pill now. No need for the vaccine. (Still wondering about God-given meaning)
-
You mentioned them a few posts ago

China is going to suffer a population implosion too. What are god-given freedoms?
-
Does "god-given" distinguish this freedom from other types of freedom? Can you be specific on what this freedom is? Doesn't the vaccine increase freedom?
-
"God-Given immune system" - what does that mean? With Thanksgiving approaching . . . we are reminded of other pandemics . . . in which one group of peoples "god-given" immune system was pitted against another people's "god-given" immune system. A lot of it has to do with the domestication of animals. Eurasia/Africa had cattle, horses, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats maybe some others all mixing with people and sharing each others boogers. The Americas had llamas and alpacas and the like. Maybe Guinea pigs. Not in North America. Are we referencing "God-given" immune systems as a superior technology and innovation versus someone else's? Or what?

I recognize many of them, spent a lot of time with them, . . . holy dange . . . wasn't sure about a couple of them . . . of course they still wear nametags . . . cause after all these years together memory must fade
