  1. The Algorithm Knoweth what you did last summer . . . . and what else you might like Is this the video? I googled it to get around Face-hook.
  2. This is just the tip of the iceberg . . . Twinky is declared the winner. Cause math.
  3. The opening post says 99% of the woes are due to us not getting it right. Your sharky remark is a reminder that all these waves has many of us PFAL nay-sayers foaming. Thus, caste your inter-net on the right side, and you will indeed need a bigger thread. (John 21:6)
  4. As pointed out in the DTA class, it's a spiritual competition. The only thing that matters in life is winning. I will "spot" you an upvote.
  5. The use of social contract I think is related to a blank slate concept. We come into this world and something hands us beliefs from outside of us. I tend to view gods and religions as part of or stemming from what Jung calls the collective unconscious. We are born with concepts inside of us that work their way out. Social contracts might be involved. But they come later.
  6. We're just trying to remove the scales from folks' eyes. These matters can get quite slippery. (Acts 9:18)
  7. I suspect The Babble Fish would have eliminated the entire Intermediate Class.
  8. Sometimes when I came across a math problem that was unclear to me, I would look at it in light of similar math problems that were clear to me.
  9. After all the "build up" . . . The literal translation would be that 42 is just a number
  10. I'm pretty sure 42 has been used before . . . That's why I didn't define it where it was written
  11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_(number) Under "popular culture". It is a comical way to reference the search for the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. A recommended read, if not, there's a movie, or two.
  12. On these forums we are using words, letters, English . . . we are using symbols. Some of us are very good at conveying our thoughts and some of not so much . . . using the same symbols. I find Mike is almost communicating something profound. The difficulty in articulating the experience of existence, perhaps? But I think there's a presupposition of exactness that is demanding a conclusion of absolute clarity. That hand-in-the-glove mathematical exactness that always arrives at 42. He's inviting spoon feeding? I was just thinking in TWI, we were seeking to obtain revelation every second of the day, so as to follow God's commands and never be wrong, ever. What's the point of that?
  13. yes yes both dog and dweeb are in Da Werd. Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. Vomit of course being a result of alcohol . . .
  14. That was an interesting story. I was thinking cultie to non cultie. But cultie to cultie is funny! Cults have a malignant narcissist at the core, so Mr. Sun-and-Moon and Dr. PeePee propably spoke a "common core" language.
  15. If the language is cultspeak, does that mind have the option to even process, interpret, or express other modes of thought?
  16. This post sounds condescending and aggressive, Mike. Before I thought you were joking. This is the closest to LCM I've read in your posts. Spirit of Leviathan pertaining to alcohol has no Biblical basis.
  17. Drunkenness results in collateral damage, wherein is excess. I was taking the first part of Mike's creativity as just having pun. Since only the Father can be creative, it's just a Dad joke. >>> >>> >>> ocean waves >>> sea monster >>> Pareidolia There is no serious reason to relate Leviathan to alcohol. I'm assuming VPW didn't come up with this on his own, either.
  18. I remember complaining not understanding what believing was. Because "believing" was used ubiquitously, it had many meanings. "Spiritual" was also overused. Definitely a removal in nuance of thought. Expression was reduced to to a limited set options. If our thoughts are limited to a certain set of possibilities . . . it certainly increases the chances that we're all like minded and of one accord . . . Right?
  19. Translating the Bible into the common language of the people and the printing press were big deals at one time. In The Way for some reason it was decided only the MOG could read. Or was the decoded behind the secret messages. Cause God forbid someone read for themselves without parroting the MOG. Likely a case of learned helplessness.
  20. Actually kind of humorous there, Mike, with the walking on a boat analogy. This chaos vs renewed mind binary is a bit unsettling, though. Not much option in there. It you're completely out of control the alternative is being controlled? Also, The Bible is not saying "there's a spirit called Leviathan that specifically works on alcoholics". Analogies can be made about the effects of alcohol on the mind and life, but there is no spirit of leviathan the alcohol guru in the Bible.
  21. "Working the Word" now means "working words, feelings or sensations" . . . perhaps transparency is more subjective than I have been allowing it to be?
  22. This is fascinating. I assume most of us here come from cultures that stress the individual. Whereas others stress the family, the community, the clan, the state or some other group. The language reflects and reinforces that. A bit of a chicken and egg question in there I suppose. Not sure VPW had some cultspeak template in mind from the get go, but it sure as heck developed. A language that always drew attention back to him.
  23. I agree. "How you read it is how you understand it" - a teacher in an elective course once said to me. One trick is nobody is "going to The Word". They are not allowing the literature to speak for itself. Using Word studies is just a method of generating confirmation biases for preconceived perceptions, probably planted from some class. When your thoughts align with "The Teacher's" thoughts, it certainly feels easier in that context, since you found your validation. That is not sunesis, that is the slow progression of rivers of toxic sewage.
  24. This video, while not mentioning cult speak or even cults, hits on the importance of language in shaping perception or reality. It also revisits the color blue and touches upon Russian superiority. The narrator's stately mustache is all the credentials really needed to know this video is God-breathed.
  25. Death wish? They were just washing the sand out of the machinery of life.
