  1. I don't know if "well-being" is strictly defined term. Modern technology reduces the need for manual labor. Where a person once was, a machine is. That's been the trend for a long time. What do people need that machines can't do? Or is not being developed? The cult leader filled a void yes? Replace that need with a machine.
  2. Covid is another example, helped push the trend of separation. Businesses, like food delivery or work at home set ups, spring up. We pushing away. Cults could only form via the internet, you could say.
  3. The point being, as humans with modern technology, we don't need each other. It appears to be exactly the same as what feminism does.
  4. I was speaking in terms of red pill and the growing mgtow movements. Easily googled. Whether or not you agree with them they do affect the culture as they grow. People are responding to issues by separating, not coming together.
  5. Dopamine. A process is hijacked like in a casino. People usually do what feels good. Why do you think?
  6. Biology. If we were not wired that way how would this species' children be raised? They are time and energy consuming. Groups are needed. That's just the most practical way to see it imo.
  7. You have asked questions and provided zero of your own viewpoints. I assumed it was your journalism stuff. I have mentioned major issues of the day. Part of the question is why these topics getted dodged so quickly, particularly by the older generations.
  8. So Rocky, You have a large portion of the population, actively pointed at and socially accepted to be less human. Their very essence is considered toxic by nature. The propaganda is so successful these subhumans actively participate in the self-flagellation. Familiar? To cope, many have disengaged from society. The internet, modern technology, facilitate that. If that bulwark where to break, that subdued energy would be released. Without the internet to guide their minds, what would they turn to? A marching band?
  9. On top of that, the destruction of the economy, potential of aimless gangs, and the general danger to everyone.
  10. I was talking about populations and generations of people. Culling out individuals will do little to improve society.
  11. Skepticism can help us identify what is matter. Skepticism does not help us identify what matters. I think that's a common enough saying, is that clearer?
  12. From what I remember the speaker said critical thinking doesn't help much with psychological reality. Sounds like basic Nietche to me.
  13. Religion is part of our evolution? It was there for survival. Questioning everything doesn't mean survival. Evolution doesn't care about "realty".
  14. The lion analogy was bad. If you stop to think critically about rustling bushes you're more likely to get eaten by the lion. Standing there thinking like an idiot. Those who don't think and just haul arse outta there are more likely to survive and think critically later. If you don't think and run away, and there was no danger, you're still alive to think critically another day.
  15. http://studylecturenotes.com/what-are-the-major-theories-of-the-origin-of-family-theories-of-evolution/ If things have usually been one way, a cultural social narrative over the past century has argued it's another, meanwhile a third or more ways of doing things is becoming normalized
  16. Was it Ramona's husband who offed himself? After her affair with LCM? I remember in college looking at body of a guy who just offed himself with a shotgun in front of my dorm. Largest pool of blood I ever saw. His girlfriend just dumped him blah blah blah. We wondered if classes were canceled. This phenomenon is more common among men and the CULTural attitude of indifference, men being the disposable gender. It looks like Hefner had a different way of responding to it, doesn't it?
  17. Hefner’s first magazine had Marilyn Monroe as the centerfold. It didn't do as well as later issues with "the girl next door" as the centerfold. Hefner had hit upon something about the male psyche.
  18. It's practilly a pick up line. It's a common enough view.
  19. I think there's a lot of folks who consider all wives to be person's with Stockholm Syndrome. So the question would eventually be pushed back to be about how Hefner is no different than any husband, or any male. Not that many guys won't virtue signal to the contrary. Marriage would be seen as a cult. With the male as the narcissist.
  20. At which point the purpose of marriage ended. Why did it persist? Marriage rates do continue to drop. The ceremony itself a symbol of slavery, a transfer of property, isn't it?
  21. I think Huxley imagined that, but he still had only two genders. In a cult like The Way we used masculine terms like "Heavenly Father". But did "he" act as a Father, or a Mother? What would religion be with no gender? If we were born from machines?
  22. Elon Musk and someone else have talks about creating the artificial womb. For space travel. It could be that women are eliminated from being needed before men. But that's a long time from now. And we have 72 other genders and counting to replace them.
  23. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCUM_Manifesto#:~:text=SCUM Manifesto is a radical, and eliminating the male sex. What are we on? The 83rd wave of feminism? The end goal being the annihilation of humanity through attrition. China may begin its population crash sometime thus year, as other countries are. Stephen Pinker I believe said causes often don't stop once they've achieved their goal and then become counterproductive. I've always known about Playboy but don't think I've seen one. That's a magazine meant for the Baby Boomers. Hefner was irrelevant a long time ago. I don't get a cult leader vibe from him. Does seem he was acting out in a way in doing what he did. He was a creative person who needed an outlet. He had a statement to make and took it too far. A lot of men at war live in the delusion someone is waiting for them back home. Hitler ultimately contributed more to this than Hefner. He instigated the world into bringing women into the workforce, the opening of daycares, and the end of traditional family units. He had cult leader vibes.
  24. Virginity has tripled in the past decade or something like that. After reading stuff like that, who wants to go near the opposite sex?
