  1. I'm in a similar boat if that helps. Do I drive the car, which goes down in value in time and eventually dies, to save a few dollars now? Or will car prices keep going up? In which case buying now would save more than the surcharge spent?
  2. Yes and no. We need the bottom of the hierarchy of needs to engage in the top of the hierarchy of needs. The Class pressures from the top down. Belonging is not on the top, or very bottom, but sometimes I've seen it there. I have restated what GSC has already said. And got an argument.
  3. Did I ever say belonging was not a thing? I said it was a thing, and I put on a spectrum other things, that a person put together. The two of you tried to argue whether the thing exists or not. Which was NOT my claim.
  4. That's. . . Actually interesting. Not getting your gold or your money? If it's your money, we know about inflation, the silent tax, is our money really ours? The Fed can just devalue what we have. (Kinda like the NPD does) Gold might be better, since we still can have personal property. Unless of course there's a redistribution. How would those ideas sneak in?
  5. Maybe they're using the difference to buy gold? j/k Some manufacturers claim to be cracking down on that . . . We're facing a deglobalization of the economy . . . Could be a long time before anything makes sense.
  6. I haven't seemed to misunderstood. I've read this place for over 15 years. I present a MODEL. The two of you went on an ad hominem tirade.
  7. Just adding, Oldskool makes a mean brisket. Speaking as a parent, I honestly don't know if could have handled what he went through.
  8. We live in a time of low infant mortality rates and great health care. Selective pressures have gone down. It takes less effort to survive. I think someone was trying to explain different time periods to me recently.
  9. I have said these message boards do affect the real world. Especially in my teens and 20s when I couldn't develop new relationships because people would go online and ascribe the actions to the leaders to me. The same thing happened again when I was kept from one of my children for nearly a year "because I grew up in a cult". That experience makes me dangerous right? The locals here understand TWI = BAD.
  10. Victor Paul Wierwille was either rotten to the core or he wasn't. His organization was a total farce or it wasn't. I think we know this whole "everyone's experience is different" trope is odd. An elephant walks in front of two people standing together. They look at each other and one says "I didn't see anyhting, that was my experience". Part of gaslighting is to deny things are bad, as I understand.
  11. You're pretending not to understand. I think twi as a high pressure system has been discussed over and over again here. The context of the thread is THE *new* class. What will the class do to a person? Inspire belonging? Why and how? I presented a model. Some of my ideas do come from people in the real world. Likely people who know better than either of us.
  12. Ad hominen bologna. I repeated what I read at the ICSA site. This is absurd.
  13. I think I get my students. Some keep in touch, even 10 years later. I get invited weddings and numerous social events. I pointed out the old "everyone gets a gold star" trope. I'm sure you understand that. I pointed out a model, which inspired by Rocky and ICSA, not ....ing contest about education.
  14. You used the ROA to illustrate a sense of belonging. The ROA. It's like saying life is in the TWIG. The opposite is true. It really sounds like taunting. People outside of cults shun culties for a reason. The ROA was disgusting. I'm going to say now "belonging" is not a positive idea. I'm sure the Germans felt belonging during the third Reich. It sounds no different than starving a population to control it.
  15. I love science. Biology is my favorite topic. Our ancestors lived in trees. They were prey animals. Had to develop a healthy fear of predators. Ever suddenly noticed a snake-like movement without thinking? It's that sense in action. In you DNA, the memory of your nonhuman ancestors. A talking snake seems reasonable in that regard, in a story. As apposed to a fox. Our eyes are also from those tree dwellers. Red is the color of food. That's why red cars and red lipstick are so popular. But yeah they ate fruit very likely. Those stories . . . Stories . . Have a truth to them. Not facts, snakes don't talk. But truth. Symbolism is a thing, right? Unless it's not. I mean letters are symbols, so how'd you read about talking snakes in the first place?
  16. I am trying to meet you half way. If it happened to the Wayfer, it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
  17. Anyone, besides Rocky and Wordwolf want to explain? What are they afraid of?
  18. If the answer is "we handled this before" This website is dead. Shut it down.
  19. As I am speaking to a generation of failed leaders, Wordwolf is also trying to sidestep the subject, ad hominen style. I do think of you more highly than that. Midwits are intelligent. And due to Darwinian pressures that intelligence is coselected with social skills. That's another topic. You are attempting a red herring. Shame shame.
  20. The idea that THE CLASS pressures a mind down Maslow's hierarchy of needs, not up it .. . Is there some issue with that statement? I got it from the ICSA site. Belonging is not at the top of the hierarchy . . . It's just a model. But that NEED becoming parallel with your wants so to speak . . . Due to pressure. Due to stress. Due to the inability to think. Desperation combined with belonging results in unhealthy attachment.
  21. YOU made a claim that that you felt you belong to the cult. I am going to take that at face value. You are trying to take back the words YOU said. You felt a sense of belonging. You participated in the cult. I CAN judge the cult and it's practices as WRONG. Many many people judge it as WRONG. I don't know what you are trying to hide with "we handled that in the class . . . I mean GSC"
  22. When did I say someone's experience was wrong? To you? I'm told my own experiences are wrong all the time. As far as I know, you told me I read the ISCA website WRONG. You told me I read this website WRONG. SCRIPTURE INTERPRETS ITSELF!!!
  23. I'll go first. I was raised in cult. My experience was wrong.
