  1. The strength of our boundaries are based on our values. I am guessing a strong value system filters out weaker ones. With the Allen Lawsuit, there was one guy with another guy's wife. In some cultures, that's part of the system. LCM was the MOG. LCM made the rules, and Mr. Allen should have gone along with it in that framework. Mr. Allen said he didn't like the system anymore. He knew a better one. Considering how The Law of Believing was used so absurdly . . . was it all simple deception? Or simple acceptance? (p.s. I found an address on Zillow yesterday that was "0 Integrity Place". Maybe an hour south of New Knoxville)
  2. Forgive me I'm not tracking From a young age I felt internal resistance to TWI doctrine and practice . . . I obviously accepted some because it was overwhelming and constant and I am a limited being. But I never could fully accept it no matter how hard I made myself. When people say GSC "exposed TWI" . . . it means to me they have a value system separate from TWI and are judging TWI with that . . . so to say something to the effect they were blindsided seems odd. The Allen Lawsuit is an example. The Man of GOD porked his wife. Shouldn't he be thankful? Or did he not fully accept TWI in the first place?
  3. Your statement . . . This suggests me you had a separate value system within you while you were in TWI. Otherwise, wouldn't you accept any explanation they gave you regardless?
  4. Not sure I follow. The Cult is a family structure . . . . or a substitute for one.
  5. Intellectual inbreeding I've heard is when a university hires the same people they trained.
  6. I don't know that the internet exposes anything. What is news to some was never news to others. I was born into TWI. I know others born into TWI. We all have parents. Those parents have relatives, these people talk. People ignore red flags. That's what people do.
  7. Sounds like escape attempt. Come to think of it I do know elderly who do this . . . they escape . . . it's hard, it happens. Was her family completely extinct?
  8. Time out. What? Last time I saw her she tried to give me and someone else figs from that tree in the pot by the Weirwille Home. Gave me an attitude for looking skeptical. Always had someone with her.
  9. A phenomenon on the internet is echo chambers. GSC is not a religion. Nor is TWI. The internet does alter people's reality, whether intentional or not.
  10. So was VPW a polygamist or was he doing something else entirely?
  11. I would have preferred to have developed relationships without influence of the people I was trying to get away from. The internet was an extension of the wooden spoon, one generation passing the buck.
  12. You're assuming a lot of this stuff is conscious. The internet absolutely divides community, and substitutes for knowing your neighbor. There's other factors are at play, there term I know is atomization of society. Social media sounds like pretending to be communal while upholding individualistic values.
  13. What do we critically think our way into? Just critically think our way out of things?
  14. The saga continues. I'm not looking for closure. That's in another life. I have an incentive to want outsiders out. I've tried to describe facets of that fight without details. I'm imagining that LCM lied is what struck the hardest?
  15. Critical thinking as a motivational tool . . . hmmm Was he short? He dressed like he was from the seventies . . . that was weird.
  16. SIT, witnessing, teaching . . . I hated everything. As a kid you watch people being witnessed to a lot, and their responses say most get it right away. I was in because that's my family and it can't be chosen.
  17. As I've stated. You meet a human being and they come with a bias from a digital source. That changes everything. You are attached to this idea that VPW was so hidden and secret it wasn't already obvious to most. ONLY the internet could unveil the mask.
  18. Internet no had goal. Me inglish not decent and in order. The people starting cites really just brought us into a new world of the internet. Everyone knew TWI was garbage. It just made them feel good.
  19. Exactly if people needed the internet to find out The Way International is weird . . . . that says everything. Go to ONE fellowship. If you don't feel gross . . . the internet can't help you.
  20. The same people can also google "affairs are good for marriage". And find justification there.
  21. Yeah. If the lawsuit was about TWI doing what the locals were doing . . . . what was the lawsuit really about? Has the world become more like TWI? Or has TWI changed the world?
  22. T-Bone, I've noticed polyamory in the locals. And those walking petri-dishes-abortion-clinics can be sneaky about getting others involved. Quick google search confirms my confirmation bias that the internet is involved. See how the internet once ostracized others for something they have nothing to with . . . to now facilitating the growth of that practice.
  23. How is trust earned if people are reading the internet? The goal of the internet was to crush opportunity? Ok so, the internet let the world know TWI engages in wife-swapping, social distance from Wayfers. Wear a mask.
  24. I am familiar with the Wayferism, "spirit is thicker than blood". I'm thinking you're touching on something in this paragraph where we both agree and disagree. I would agree social media is something that is now used like a drug to fill the void of belonging. I think that is wrong, and similar to joining a group like TWI. And think it makes VPW and LCM look tame.
  25. Please take the offensiveness as frustration. I don't think I'm talking about conspiracy theories . . . that's not we're talking about . . . there's no mastermind Society as a whole has become increasingly atomized . . . . the internet plays a major role in that because we don't need to meet other people anymore. Each person on the internet, in spite of best efforts, is a fragment of themselves . . . the internet is a collection of fragments of people . . . that is a new social order that affects everyone on and off the internet. Face to Face interactions are increasingly influenced by the reasoning on the internet. It's not something that can be escaped without a lot of efforts. The internet affects how people develop now. Getting back to The Way and how the internet was in the minds of many we have face-to-face interactions with . . . as a teenager I was inundated with topics of rape, wife-swapping and other matters I did not understand . . . due to my unintentional involvement with TWI. The internet cuts real word relationships . . . whether you are on the internet or not
