I think he gave 3 choices. To consider more would be going beyond therefore they do not exist.

See time stamp 3:26. Or watch the whole thing. Or don't.

My spirit tells my mind and The Word interprets my renewed mind and the senses realm doesn't matter so don't mind it and the old man either. It's like I don't need me at all.

It IS Written . . . and if scripture interprets itself . . . what does my mind do when I am reading?

https://thewayinternational.com/operating-the-gift-of-holy-spirit/ The great principle we see from these verses is that God, Who is Spirit, teaches His creation in you, which is now your spirit. Your spirit teaches your mind. Then your spiritual power becomes manifested in the senses realm as you act or as you speak out. Wait wait wait . . . if my spirit teaches my mind after being taught by Gawd . . . then my spirit is beyond my mind since it was taught and my mind wasn't . . . and I acquired this spirit with my mind . . . cause my mind was taught beyond the absent spirit? And as my spirit teaches my mind it's putting thoughts there? Thoughts come from spirit? By talking between myselfs I am learning to go beyond what I have not been taught but actually have been. So I read the Word to renew my mind (RMM) because . . . . wait why do I need this spirit?

Interesting . . . When I look at PFAL I see Power first. The rest is fluff, IMO. I feel there is talk of abundant life in Way "Doctrine" put there is much more talk about Power. It's essentially children's playful imagination at being superheroes. I have power because I can imagine it. I would consider any get-rich-quick scheme a fantasy daydream for entertaining the lazy, though.

Fiery Fart. Renew your Mind.

"Great Principle" "Greatest Secret in The World Today" No (scripture) build up of where the ideas came from. Just presented like one were learning the alphabet as a toddler. This is an "a", Don't ask questions, just accept it.

https://thewayinternational.com/operating-the-gift-of-holy-spirit/ In the third or fourth paragraph, Dec 26, 2022, it's the great principle. (GP) But it IS lower case. The article goes into freewill decision making . . . after being told we have power and decide to do it. That's how you make things happens. Someone puts a thought in your head about your freewill. So you're all like "I have the POWER", cause you thought it. Ok, so the Giver gives a thought . . . and you have that thought . . . which is a He-Man image inside you . . . and that dopamine hit results in a manifestation of fruitiness . . . which is why you have to keep putting on The Word . . . cause dopamine crashes . . . and new thoughts are needed . . . and your dependent on the source, The Giver. Kata Kratos Karate! (KKK) *grabs more string and thumb-tacks*

That reminds me of mindfulness where you are supposed to sit and observe your thoughts without judgement. Just let them be. (JLTB) "Renewing your mind" (RYM) is ubiquitous as Oldskool mentioned, I felt it shut down the emotion response to thoughts, which negates thoughts. Maybe it was training to halt thinking? (MIWTTHT) Need to research more . . . . *grabs string and thumb tacks* (GSATT)

I agree we don't have complete control . . . if I understand correctly most thoughts are unconscious . . . meaning we are never conscious of them When we "put on the new man" twi-style are we shoving matters to the unconscious? Just wondering.

"A person cannot heal themselves by their thoughts – end of story. Prosperity doctrines are false as well. It’s simple. New Thought adherents made a logical step with their error. If you can heal yourself by your thoughts then you can become wealthy by your thoughts. Both doctrines are straight out lies and are not Biblically sound, but I will admit they are convincing counterfeits. At the heart of these doctrines is the idea that man can save himself, and they ignore the truth that we need a savior, that we need Jesus Christ as well as God’s grace and mercy. We should turn to God for healing. We should turn to God for our prosperity, not ourselves because it is not in man to save himself." Interesting article . . it's interesting the article points out you can't heal yourself or get rich on your thoughts . . . kinda implies an individual has complete control over one's thoughts in first place? I'll have to renew my mind on this.

That was years before I was born. I have not known women to be less abusive than men in general. Marriage rates have declined because there's no incentive for anyone to do something so limiting and destructive. It sounds like VPW is speaking to the fourth wall, and said what he thought others would be drawn too.

I've toyed with the idea that religion and politics are reflections of the family structures of that population. If most of a population is raised under a certain type of family, their psychology will develop in that environment, and the religion and government will grow from that. Maybe a little chicken and egg going on, but seeing your family in government and your gods is interesting, imo
-
I've speculated VPW had an abusive mother. Maybe she was a free spirit?
-
Well, according to some, God who is A Spirit, can only talk to spirit. And if spirit is feminine, God can only talk to women. I don't about you, but that takes a huge burden off my shoulders. It's someone else's problem to listen, right?

I do enjoy your input T-Bone, This three part team, Father, Proginy . . . shouldn't there be a Mother? When God-Breathed into Adam the Hebrew word used was feminine, if I recall correctly. (ruach Elohim) https://www.cbeinternational.org/resource/feminine-imagery-god-hebrew-bible/

The Wierwille Legacy: Who Will Write The Book?
Bolshevik replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
I stayed in because that was my family and you can't change that. The arguments were just always there. When I became a parent is when my tolerance ended. -
In TWI, your cult experience was both UNIQUE and NOT unique
Bolshevik replied to Rocky's topic in About The Way
I'm also of the opinion the meaning of a "sexual deviant" changes over the years. The practices in "cults" are less shocking as time has gone by. Because what goes on outside of cults is often more shocking. -
When I stiffened up it got into conversations about how I can't be trusted. Out on "the field" . . . I would tell people about these things . . . but it went over people's heads. The followers don't care. (How does the internet trump the voices of actual people? . . . There's another matter)

I often point to the open use of the wooden spoon, was everyone blind? If people need the internet to figure out right from wrong, we should fear the future. -
The Wierwille Legacy: Who Will Write The Book?
Bolshevik replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
I think we both still know people involved in The Way. Part of my point is it is impossible those involved to not know items posted here. I can remember decades ago people would pass around typed letters, to communicate. People walking up to me in parking lots because they saw a bumper sticker. Sitting on the floor in TWIG you hear things. I really give you more credit than needing the internet to put things together. -
The Wierwille Legacy: Who Will Write The Book?
Bolshevik replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
I can remember a time before the internet was prominent. The arguments that TWI is wrong were always present. VPW was never present. The FOG years were not caused by the internet. The greatest decline TWI proper participation. No internet needed. People were capable back then to think about what they value, and choose. When people outside TWI get tired of arguing with adults they target children. There's a burden placed on some that the internet circumnavigates. The argument is displaced away from those causing the problem onto the rest of us. It remains that the internet is a way to punt responsibility away from decision makers. -

Is it leftovers from "The Word doesn't come back void"? -

This rhetoric disturbs me. GSC does what? It's the internet. Innocents are always punished. These websites have no control over where the bullets strike. How on earth can victory or progress be calculated?
