when a child learns to crawl, is it because he/she was taught to crawl? When we learn about the opposite sex, is teaching necessary to make a baby? Do we not naturally go beyond what we've been taught? Isn't teaching just an aid to learning? Occasionaly, doesn't the student become the master? Did someone teach Einstein relativity and Newton about gravity?

there's nothing new under the sun and great ideas can't come from our minds but the god of this world. all work and no play means you obey which makes you a good young believer, which means you'll live long on the earth. . .or does it just feel longer?

I remember before I left, (not too long ago) there was much talk in meetings about speaking things into being. Verses used were when GOD spoke things into being. The picture I was getting was to grow in your believing to speak things into being. (my mind really fights that one, I wish I hadn't tuned out so I could be more specific about the logic about that now) Believing is a very slippery concept.

I used to have the coloring book for Athletes. What you really should look for is the devil spirit outfits. We should all go to a Sunday Teaching Service as devil spirits. But which type would be most appropriate?

I honestly thought my mother knew the lady and that was some "victory sharing" that happened recently. lol - I'm a fool (or has my confession made me a fool?) I just could never line up what was taught about believing with what is practiced. The best definition I know of is the song "believing is acting on the Word", which implies that God and the Bible are involved. But I can never seem to see chapter and verse when some says they're believing for something, or when I've been ordered to believe for something, or someone says they're believing with me, or someone "brings believing to the table", or "has a longsuit in believing". Worst part is nobody seamed to really care to explain it to me. Even after the "walk of believing" theme. I keep getting referred to the blue book, but that is written like my grandmother talks. Maybe it'll all make sense when I'm 70. Perhaps it's my believing that keeps me from understanding believing.

I was born and raised by long-standing advanced class grads. For over two and a half decades I've had a troubling question. What exactly is believing?

Thanks dmiller. I'm looking for those raised their entire life in The Way. Not necessarily those who raised kids in The Way and are concerned. Those who have nothing to go back to. Those whose parents are still with The Way. Those whose parents work with Way leadership to keep them in The Way. Those who have not abandoned their family by being with The Way, but abandon their family by leaving The Way. I know little of mainstream Christianity. I have a hard time believing there are those who haven't heard of The Way. I have always had problems with The Way and am very angry with The Way. The Way and my parents have used my youth against me to keep me "fellowshipping" and "serving". I now have a child of my own. Yet still, according to The Way's teachings, I am not an adult. I am looking for those who were denied free will to choose their service to The Way from birth.

I'm looking for those "raised in the Word" Is there a forum for this already?
