  1. eh, I've seen too many of those weird "looks in their eyes" to think much differently. Both leadership and followers. Maybe giving and taking verbal lashing is like an initiation of sorts. Sometimes I think of gladiator games where the wayfers are like the crowd, and leadership is like Caesar, giving a thumbs up or down to please the crowd at times. Of course nobody's limbs get torn off.
  2. Yeah I know. I was referring to the next generation of dingbats.
  3. Why? Wouldn't you prefer a younger, improved model(s)?
  4. I don't think it had anything to do with hate and fear of homosexuals. Homosexuals were an easy excuse for hate. Why did people join The Way in the first place? They took a class that makes no sense and stuck around. There's something they liked. I know I needed no convincing about what was happening back then. I hadn't been introduced to anything else, that was normal behavior to me. In reflection, I'm angry. So many just miss Wierwille, and Martindale. Talking to those in twi today, these people are nuts. They love to hurt (in their mind). It's what they enjoy. Doesn't matter if the target is homosexuals or protestants, or their mom, or themselves. "overseer", yeah stupid word Are these psychological issues? Is it learned? Or just the way people are?
  5. I learned from the adults: Face Melting = Progress. Yeah, I enjoyed it. Even when I was being "face-melted". It meant I would learn something. Why, WW, would I have thought anything else?
  6. Everyone seemed to like it. They go back to their fellowships and homes and reinforce these attitudes. The leaders just gave them what they wanted.
  7. Once, during a class on Acts, the Limb leader got up and started talking about this guy and his wife. Mentioned things like how often they had intercourse and such. The Limb leader then bragged, yelling of course, about how he'd backed the man up against the wall yelling at him, asking if he was a homo. The man finally broke down and said he was. (Mind as well shoulda tied him to a rock and see if he'd float.) After that, the people in the class, the followers, would stand up, one by one, and praise the Limb leader for what he has done for them.
  8. This all reminds me of the "victim mentality" teachings. One way or another, it ain't yer fault. blah blah blah . . .
  9. So, you believe you have no debts to pay? OMG!!! How is Imaginationland this time of year? No wait, I already know . . .
  10. Hey buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did ya see me? Did ya? Maybe you did. You'll never guess what the fortune cookie said. . .
  11. no no no, Imaginationland doesn't work that way. "The law of Believing", it's about power more than money.
  12. Heck, just remember lcm's "teachings". If someone got made fun of, be it someone in twi or outside, it was a good teaching. If the bible was read, booorrrrinnng. FOLLOWERS of The Way like others to be torn apart. Someone's got to be the enemy for them to verbally lambast. That's what someone in twi salivates for. Who are you going to stand up to? Leadership? no, yourself.
  13. Followers of The Way enjoy being yelled at and seeing others get yelled at. "Turning a blind eye" does not make sense. This was a way of life. This was twi, the belief system. I remember after Rosie giving twi a "woman's touch" people talking about how it didn't feel right to not get yelled at as much. They joked about how the want lcm to come back and start yelling. Why people insist on distinguishing between leaders and followers concerning behavior I don't know.
  14. I'm saying they enjoyed it, and still do. That is when the adversary gets it ya know. Lord of The Flies may be a better description.
  15. That's not the way I remember the 90s. "Complacency" is not a word I would use on "Joe Believer". This analogy(or whatever) makes no sense to me when describing the 90s. I find it to be a soft description of The Way. Followers of The Way enjoy watching others be chewed out and kicked out. Standing up for what is right? What was there to stand for? Evil to fester? What? It was always messed up. No sense.
  16. You were talking about being limited by the "five senses". Then you talked about a baby. what is the outside source of learning?
  17. The baby uses its "five senses" to learn from its outside "points of reference".
  18. The baby has "five senses". It now has "centers of reference", people. What is your point?
  19. No, I want you to answer the question. I've already acknowledged that you've simplified the body for argument sake.
  20. Please note, I did not give you crap for not reading my posts carefully enough.
  21. I have a written question above you have not answered.
