  1. cool, what was it like? was there teaching points or just hanging out or something different?
  2. death began in Genesis as a result of rebellion. If God kills someone for any reason, who cares? Everyone is going to die someday anyway.
  3. Does God convict everyone for everything, or just certain people, for certain things?
  4. someone once figured out that at HQ, it takes $30 to change a light bulb. Because of the man hours and paperwork. Not including the cost of the light bulb. Now, if paperwork were to be mixed up . . .
  5. apparantly R@----a B-d-n's previous did
  6. 2,347 oh, and I forgot about Joe, Sally, and Frank . . . I think that's it, unless the Henderson's are still standing . . . Bob is out in left field though . . .
  7. there is no such thing as good or evil twi is really annoying?
  8. will there be Drambuie and donuts?
  9. if vpw lived in his own world, did he really KNOW? His view of right and wrong could be a lot different than others, he simply could have understood what were acceptable and unacceptable social norms, and worked around them. lcm on the other hand, could have thought he shouldn't have to hide anything b/c he was god's best, had the truth, didn't need to bow to the realm of the unbeliever etc.(similar to what you said). How much vpw KNEW he was WRONG, probably changes with each person's perception of right and wrong. Maybe both these guys really believed everyone else is deluded. Can we know?
  10. cult leaders like vpw are "charismatic psychopathic narcissists" or something. not sure if this is a disorder, but it is untreatable: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychopathy Maybe they'll have a pill for this someday. Maybe it's genetic, and can be bred out.
  11. http://www.anandainfo.com/cult_leaders.html There was that movie about that guy who pretended to know Howard Hughes and write a book about him. He got so caught up in the lies his mind went into some kind of dream world. He'd lost touch with reality. I wonder if some desperate situation instigated or accelerated a process like this for vpw. WWII? He wanted to avoid that didn't he?
  12. Paul?Peter? was wrong, we are sheep for the slaughter.
  13. y'ad think people would get angry . . . a few are I guess what are they afraid of? friends and family? the loss of structure? that Hell might exist? they lost a bet?
  14. but he enjoyed every minute of it, no? would you say con men are a subset of liars in general? yeah, supernatural delusions are a subset of delusion in general Nobody likes hard core reality, why else would so many remain loyal to vpw's teachings?
  15. he lives comfortably off of illicit income? I won't ask how one knows that another man is a premature ejaculator. . .
  16. Did he plan a scam before he became a minister? When was this choice made? Was it a single big choice or are a series of barely noticeable choices over time?
  17. Aren't we all? Aren't supernatural belief systems set up to help us think we are not? (or can really reverse it)
  18. and the thousands of people who support him.
  19. I don't see what vpw's childhood abuse has to do with anything. He was victim of religion. Just as the corps were, and their followers were, and the followers of those followers were.
  20. Do you think he, when he was young was looking for god, then realized one day it's a wild goose chase. He had an opportunity to build a following, and took it, because, well, everyone else is doing it.
  21. sure, one can make choices. but you were unaware you were duped? many promoted vpw's ideas apparently as victims themselves what are you not aware of now?
  22. It has been said that many joined twi when they were young and were duped by the con man vpw. They were victims. How does this work for lcm? Didn't he get in at a young age? Isn't he ultimately a victim?
