"upper middle class" I believe is what I was told. When? dunno 90s or 00s.
-
what about when someone says in response to asking for an opinion, "God's Word is His greatest work a career studying another thing is the His second greatest, now, make a decision" a rush-decision false dilemma?
-
ah yes, but we have the truth! vpw did the work! the natural man just can't see . . .
-
yes, they are serious

which tavern did you say it was? :o

. . this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine . . . he he he . . . err

Most wayfers I know came from the U.S of A. Where one has the right, to toss the work of the ones who came before them. Aaaahh freedom.

or you might even notice the ventriloquist standing behind Harve, or fishing line connecting his arms to ceiling?
-
then there's also the Advanced Class . . . I was always in trouble for sleeping, fellowships, foundational, etc. people actually started throwing things at me in the Auditorium. perhaps caffeine is considered a spurt. . . causes people to start paying attention . . wouldn't want that now

twi parents love their children more than "worldly" parents . . . cause they don't lie to them about Santa Clause

I was often irritated that they never served coffee at HQ. the Q-tip and Co. got it. just wanted a cup a joe for my efforts.

reminds me of "Bless and Treat". When I was a kid we would turn out all the lights and hide behind the couch as a family so that the kids trick-or-treating wouldn't give us any devil spurts. I remember my neighborhood friends knocking at the door saying "I know your in their" When I went Way D, I went "bless and treating".

I think everyone does it at times. The rank-and-file are just a little more desperate to protect their fantasies and probably don't even know they do it.
-
Okay, maybe I get it. how about when you point out an error twi (the one true household) made or in it's teachings and they respond "No religion is perfect. You know, YOU don't have all the answers." oh, wow, silly me. --------- a red herring maybe?
-
not sure I know what you mean. there's always someone somewhere trying to muddy something. About every wayfer I know is able to pull a subject from nowhere that has nothing to do with anything. I don't know that the intent is to deceive or not. It is frustrating. Maybe I'm off topic. can you give a (generic) example?

are they financially in trouble? all they need to believe is that wierwille started something that they continue. can't they just resurrect the MOG idea later?

Going back after leaving "The Way"
Bolshevik replied to believersnonbeliever's topic in About The Way
I think you've got it. A good wayfer can discontinue any relationship and any memory of a person on command. -
no, I don't think it took any brain cells to accomplish not understanding anything.

that's interesting you mention the girl's change in mood. were all instances like this?
-
ahh I see, thanks for clearing that up. I would hate to start spreading false doctrine . . .

I was reminded of two instances today. One time out witnessing we knocked on a door and the family invited us in. We invited them to our "home bible study" and they were excieted that one was so close to their home. It was a happy meeting and everyone was excited and smiling. The next day or so I answered the phone and the dude was angry. He'd looked us up online (www.theway.org) and announced he didn't agree with our views and wouldn't be coming. I said "okay" ,*shrug*, and that was that. Now I'm thinkng, we kinda knew our views were not orthodox. And that if we'd told these folks up front what our views were they wouldn't come to our "home bible study". And since when was fellowship a "bible study"? I believe I knew on some level at the time he was misled but I didn't frown on it like I do now. ------------ another time at a Christmas dinner ... err. Ho-Ho dinner a wayfer dude was praying for the food. He said something like " and thanks that we can see the real meaning of this Holiday. . .". Now I believe I knew he meant Saturnalia and Trinitarian "deception" and so on. But another lady, not with twi, was like "Oh that is so true, so true." And I believe she meant "this is a time of giving and remembering our Lord not buying stuff and comercialism etc etc" I believe the dude praying knew what she was thinking and he meant were two different things. I remember thinking at the time "Now there's some BS." But there was a turkey dinner in front of me that I didn't want to be excused from, so I shut up. - - - - - So I was just thinking how commonplace deceptive behaviour was/is among everyone. That's all life is/was in twi. I don't think everyone sees it as deception but I think it is. Didn't know if anyone had any other common examples?

Ephesians 6:1 and being in the way international
Bolshevik replied to brainfixed's topic in About The Way
don't know if this is of interest, I've talked to several people who grew up in twi, from high ranking leadership to rank-and-file chumps, there seems to be a weird pattern. it seems "kids" my age are a little more ....ed in general than our younger siblings. I think they were "sheltered" cause lcm got booted at a certain point in their life. so even in a family things vary. once you were too big to physically manipulate the real mental games began. back-up was required in force. when rosie took charge things slowed a little. it sux cause the younger "kids" can't remember certain things, while the "adults" conveniently have no recollection. that leaves the rest of us downers. -
so hair contains devil spirits? lol

Ephesians 6:1 and being in the way international
Bolshevik replied to brainfixed's topic in About The Way
One time at a ROA, I watched for a few minutes an @12 year old girl smacking an @6 year old girl. There were people everywhere but this was happening. The twelve year old would smack the six year old, point, and scold "OBEY!". The younger would cry out, the older smacked again "OBEY!" rinse and repeat ________________________________ another instance at an ROA, my younger brother had a disagreement with my father on the shuttle. When the shuttle stopped it seemed like everyone on the shuttle got up to stop and quote "Eph 6:1" to my brother. -
We trained our minds to think we were giving "prophecy" or receiving "revelation" when really it was just random thoughts. (maybe not that random). you mention the "red-to-blue" angry face. then there's the zombie-complexion, produced by the very ugly thoughts I'm guessing  at a party last night, happy words made for happy faces. don't know where this leads yet, just thinking
