I don't remember any direct teachings on stoning annoying kids. I was always aware of the verses on it for some reason, and I know that the thinking of "we should be thankful we're not going to be stoned" was not only in my mind, but in other wayfer kids' minds as well.

can we say how many of that 80% went off to be part of "splinter groups" of one form or another? I think they taught us in WayD to do stuff like this. It's about being able to "change gears" quickly.

ah, yes, many baby-boomers have succombed to lax thinking, giving a squadron of spurts an access, a host. These spurts are then able to go on Way runs, or sneak into the VPW PW Auditorium, holding a bible, and wearing, of all things . . . blue jeans!! . . . I think what's more important is not what is written, but how "believers" converse. They just sit there and make stuff up. So and so is possessed, it's so obvious . . . I can't explain that, therefore, spurts are involved . . . I don't feel I have the upper hand in this situation, so I'll make up a new doctrine in my head . . . There were some verses on Jesus talking about how the spurts come back to an uncleaned home. Other verses on casting out spurts. This wasn't vpw's idea. He just sold the idea which assumed that this is all possible and that you and I can do it too, (but not as good as vpw.)

nice pic :) Remy looked like he'd made an effort to be there. It was quite a sight. . . . Once talked to some Germans (soccer fans). They thought it weird that our sports had at least two announcers. (Over there there's just one at a time.) I like the banter that goes back and forth. Talk of past games and other insights. (then of course the all important discussion on does your tie match your suit and handkerchief.) I've certainly warmed up to Eck. Three would be fine with me.

The purpose of Staff is to keep the people in "da field" in la-la land. "Look, we have miraculously cut grass . . . the world just can't understand . . ." The purpose of Safety is to keep the Staff in la-la land "The Adversary is really angry . . .strange things are happening . . ." I wonder how many Staffers never realized how many ex-wayfers came by to yell at twi? As Safety, we've got to protect the hearts of those on Staff . . .

twi/pfal is a mindset. not a belief. If it were a belief, it could be explained to young children without using a stick. It cannot be explained. People either "dig it", or they don't.

I don't know about you, but my car was banished to gravel lot. Wasn't worthy of parking on that fancy asphalt stuff. every blade of grass is the exact same height. Natural man couldn't pull that off. When those guys came around we were told they were to be on the ground in cuffs. Never happened. Linder did possess the power to caste the devil spurts out of them. He didn't bother though, because they didn't keep their heads on the werd. So, as soon as they were caste out, the dang spurts would just jump back in again, causin' all sorts of silliness. Aside from the local doing way runs, there's the ex-wayfers. Some come to gaze upon the fountain, smell the hedge-protected air, and run their fingers through the miraculously cut grass. Others, like McBlah, come to make a stink. Still others, uh, . . . they uh, off their meds . . . The Way really must have done them in good.

I thought the real "deceiver" died @25 years ago. If thousands are still following, are they a deceiving people? Don't they believe they are doing good? If twi was not a "good" organization, that implies that there are "good" organizations out there. Word and values constantly change meaning. What's the goal of "being good"? Does that even mean anything?

Laws are arbitrary, yes. Love is an illusion, yes. Like religion, it causes people to wierd things. Why do we have to define good and evil? Don't we just end up redefining everything 5 minutes later? Billy simply did what Billy wanted to do. It was neither good, nor bad, nor Christian, nor non-Christian. I think in Milwaukee, folks were so hacked when the Braves left town, nobody would drink Coke products for years. I know there's a few Boston Braves fans left, but don't know of any Milwaukee Braves fans. Now they've got they're Brewers. (I think the Orioles came from Milwaukee via the St Loius Browns). There's bit of regional aspect to it all. It is an interesting phenomenon. I wouldn't know what to do if the Sox ever left Boston. They originally "displaced" the Braves. Does the 1914 WS count for Boston?

I would think it's just part of the cycle of being an affluent nation. People and therefore the kids, start getting lazier and lazier and just expect life to be easy.

I've seen numerous instances in twi where leadership intentionally tries to split marriages, including my own. Usually the if there's a split the wayfer goes and marries another wayfer.
