  1. It's all relative. Without more information I don't know to be worried or not.

    bin Laden is Dead

Last night every other channel discussed Osama's death. The other channels were about the royal wedding.
  3. How much is owed to us? How much is our assets?
  4. School yard bully could be another example. Society honors him and shuns the nerd. The bully might goad the nerd into doing his homework, and then take is lunch money. But the bully is needed to win sports games. He is above rules that apply to others. Was VPW a bully? Did society value him over others?
  5. Just as VPW made his own luck? Better liar, more freedom.
  6. I don't follow your logic. Joseph took responsibility for everyone else's actions, it seems to me. I don't recall anyone arguing not to take responsibility for one's actions. You're answer to injustice is to invoke the supernatural. Supernatural beings don't run the impersonal court/legal/law enforcement systems. Maybe they do? It's a better system than many times and places. But still unfair and worthy to consider, IMO.
  7. see . . . "bad decisions" can be construed as "not as crafty or refined as vpw" or "less resources at their disposal than those who get away with it" . . . why didn't vpw go to jail? (down on luck could mean a mental handicap that is not recognized by the system yet . . . or a language barrier . . . racism etc.)
  8. It's generally an older crowd here . . . if you found data based on age groups it might line up better . . . if that's at all of interest
  9. Um . . . nobody said it wasn't.

    The Blogs

    Just please don't take the ShoutBox . . .
  11. Prison is full of folks down on their luck. People our society shuns. They don't fit in, so they end up in jail. Did vpw, lcm or rosie ever go to jail for what they've done? Did their most-loyal followers? Is our society/culture is accepting of folks like vpw, lcm and rosie?
  12. Growing up I always remember leadership saying it's up to the individual how they vote. I remember individuals typically gathering around leadership asking them who they think LCM would vote for. Leadership usually said they didn't know but that LCM probably would vote for ________ .
  13. (no idea if that worked from this computer . . . )
  14. I know we were always trying to kick the adversary "in the teeth" . . . wouldn't that scuff your shoes? the Adv. hates a group of believers sitting together SIT. . . . but wouldn't handing out flaming swords increase Class sign-ups?
  15. who's got more time than that? Course . . . wayfers had time . . . 3 fellowships a week, study night, witness night etc. . . . too much time on their hands . . . .
  16. No . . . people still want to feel part of something.
  17. I my experience religion (The Way) steals life . . . time, experiences, knowledge etc . . . what could any other religion offer? Christianity included? The pull for religion is usually unlimited time . . . so experiences, knowledge etc will be unlimited . . . . but if there is no unlimited time . . . why bother? When constraints are put on the system, there is a more interesting wave function . . . maybe that's one reason.
  18. Well if you consider the working class as poppy farmers . . .
  19. (and deciding if that's even possible)
  20. Simple, Mr Socrates . . . It is WRITTEN . . .
  21. I'll be stealing the cherry pic later.
