I wasn't looking for whether or not The Trinity can be understood. I was asking why it should be understood. Accepting something doesn't mean anyone anywhere understands the matter.
-
Just going off of what I heard quite often (That folks claim they never believed in the Trinity). I will easily believe that a lot of people said that just to fit in with the group. Is there a reason that the Trinity needs to be understood?

In TWI God is something that can be understood, explained, is predictable and therefore controllable. In TWI there's only one point of view, one personality, to see reality from (although they gave lip-service to the idea of more.) The Trinity is something less certain, less concrete, requires acceptance without understanding, or multiple views to even begin to explain. (Too complicated, not easy to explain, and uncontrollable, therefore do not accept it.) JMO.

Protect their kids from angry ex-wayfers who come by to "visit" at 2 am?

Eddie Lane Bahahahahaha! Is there Beatles theme music?

I count all non-corps who followed corps as oppressors. Does that help?

*crinkles envelope with cash and shoves it into the horn-of-plenty in as noisy as possible a manner as it passes so that all those who have bowed their heads in prayer can hear that they may hear and will know that they know who gave of their abundance this day time and hour*

There's no rationalizing to some alternate reality to deflect or mitigate the pain of loss (grief) and the awareness that this is ultimately what will happen to you too.

Hi T-Bone, This is a rather passive analogy. Don't know if you were around for the 90's. If Mom and Dad took a wrong turn, that could have been the children's unbelief. LCM wasn't going to allow children to run the ministry. After all, that was our plan from the get-go.

I agree. The Law of Believing is selfishness at its core. Selfishness is very real. VPW had a knack for making selfishness fit Biblically. There are ways to make selfishness make more sense, I am sure.

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahaha . . . ha!

And then . . . who benefits from wearing the filter? Or, who benefits from others wearing the filter? If you can get others to see things from a very limited viewpoint . . . what kind of control does that give you over them?

Yeah, the L@dwigs . . . I was about to ask

Yes - TWI's teachings lead people to process information in a twisted, very narrow and over-simplified way. As those false barriers are removed, new perceptions are realized. Processing the new reality is overwhelming at times.

OMG I remember that magnet stuff at HQ. I somehow inherited the shoe inserts and special water. Gave me superpowers. You know the feeling.

Can Science Ignore The Assumptions Within Genesis?
Bolshevik replied to teachmevp's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I was being, um, facetious, I think is the term. My point being that the opening post is so broad there is really no topic. -
Definitely need more of this sort of thing

Can Science Ignore The Assumptions Within Genesis?
Bolshevik replied to teachmevp's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
In Genesis, Egypt exists. Unless, Egypt is a metaphor. Genesis covers a broad number of topics. "Science" is not even a specific term. That the "assumptions" in Genesis are assumptions and not something else is another problem. Therefore, Egypt does not exist. -
I don't know who is off topic. You want monotony? Try sitting perfectly still and silent in a large group for hours while the previous generations worship VPW.

This is a good point. Stop preparing for. Excitement begins. (random haiku . . . bahahahaha!)

This. (I did 15-minute blocks in high school . . . don't get me started lol) When I tried to leave home . . . there was a nation-wide network of yes, as you put it, baby-sitters. Between the baby-sitters and the internet cutting off escape routes. It was a cluster-fudge. TWI was a complete distraction to my education. Both academically and emotionally. I had more baby-sitters than I can remember. Lots of folks in multiple states keeping tabs on me. Dictates coming in from multiple limbs. I'm younger than LCM's eldest, so I've thought that was all related. edited for grammar
