Now we see the importance of interpreting all information through a singular source. Lesson learned.
-
There's a lot of information in the threads by a number of the more regular, long-time, posters, who've spent years researching TWI, that ought, IMO, put that knowledge into article or book form and posted online. Less drama, more concise and easier to read. If resources to moderate discussion forums are scarce, wouldn't that be better?

You've met angels??? Awesome!

Didn't someone want to translate snippets? October 1977 Translation: You idiots are so pathetic that I've been forced to get out of bed and use a typewriter to make words on paper for you to hang yourselves on. It does take my mind off this hangover, though.

So was VPW the source of these ridiculous salutations? (God Bless in the most powerfully abundantly blessed name that is above all blah blah blah . . . ) "I thank you Dr. Weirwille, for never attaching a single string to my life" February 17, 1981 BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
-
BA! heard that 1,000 times before. (Does anyone stop to think the student has no farking clue what on earth you're talking about??) Wordwolf's threads should be pinned. Always good stuff.

Don't be surprised if they take it personal. Rev. Thorney used to leave angry messages for me after I just stopped. Be prepared to ignore, ignore, ignore. Edited to add: Leadership may also send more naive folks to your door, leaving gifts and loving words. Implying how they miss you and how you're hurting their tender, innocent little hearts. All part of a ruse to tempt you to doubt your own decisions. You are, after all, a cruel person on the inside, why else would you leave?

Yeah, they RE-search, not research. VPW did the heavy lifting already. No need to re-invent the wheel. I often use a laser pointer to move cats from one room to another. Sometimes, just to play with them. I find it amusing. Also, intriguing that they never seem to learn that it is simply not possible to catch the dot. Shine it right on their paws, they will not learn that more effort will not equal more success. I just point and make use of the cats own misplaced belief. Works. Every. Time. All teachings are re-scripted. Not the point. There's no new research. Not the point. New ideas are presented and dismissed. Not the point. The old research was plagiarized. Not the point. The plagiarized material was questionable in the first place. Still not the point. People keep believing there's something of value to hold on to. . . . Maybe, just believe a little harder, and Rosie will like you.

She's right. Or not.

During times like you speak of some will actually become more committed to TWI. I was meaning humor, but, I disagree that you would be a source of harm or division among Christians. It is like a game for a Wayfer to be the last one standing. That way they get to tell their God they're better than all the quitters.
-
You know, when some people leave they take a bunch of others with them. . . . Rosie then loses the opportunity to throw them out, or threaten to throw them out. Start a schism, that's what the cool kids do.

Hi Bluecord, You didn't get involved with twi until 2010? Way D success stories are few a far between. You are the exception.

The national debt has risen? Did I win?

The political forum was nice because, coming from a very narrow viewpoint, it did help broaden things. That was, relatively, a long time ago. With so little traffic, that would mean limited numbers of views here, and a political forum would be a step in the wrong direction.

well, if they're "survivors" . . . then they don't really need help? BAHAHAHA . . . j/k If The Way is not recognized as harmful by any group that has that authority, no victims could be recognized as being victims. Who would make those decisions? . . . Just hypothetical. Does Rosie really need an escape plan? I thought as long as she avoids sunlight she just slides into her coffin and sleeps until conditions improve?

How? Didn't Tom Cruise die for her sins?

I've posted before that I'd wondered the relationship between alcohol and the nature of The Way. Most Wayfers, (The older generation) in my experience, rarely, if at all, drink. Wayfers sit around in groups called the TWIG or HHF and reason out together complete nonsense. They don't need a substance to alter their minds to an abusive, sometimes violent, state. Words, The Word, is indeed powerful. (and did LCM abuse alcohol?) If the cause of The Way was alcoholism then a way to prevent groups like The Way from forming would be to focus on alcoholism. Catch the leader there. I tend to think that wouldn't work.

Maybe is used to be. VPW has been gone forever. That the smokescreen morphs into its own life is amazing in a way.

I was always taught this what mature individuals do. "instantly changing gears" was a mark of growth and discipline.

Submission? Ephesians 6:1 (KJV) Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. You are not an Adult until you are 18. (Proverbs 22:15, *cough cough*) (turns 18) You are not an Adult until you are 21. (turns 21) You are not really developed until 35. Some Biblical cultures didn't considered people mature adults until 45. It's best, as a Godly person, to obey your parents until they are DEAD. Meanwhile, parents are under submission to who?

Might also explain a Wayfer's knack for memory-loss.

I'm assuming the marketplace, in the context of TWI, is a circa 1960s/1970s enviroment? (I would be guessing here . . . Dead are Not Alive was written during a time seances were more popular?) Creepy. Upon reflection, uncomfortable ideas come to mind.

Yeah wasn't trying to make a soap box of it, but it kinda stuck out in my mind as a . . ."um . . . wow . . the trinity? . . .um . . " And yeah, maybe a side topic, but the "value" of the teachings. For all the talk of "truth", their logic, their knowledge . . . just masks, veils to insecurities and imperfections. Cult teachings are shields and armor. Maybe each doctrine serves a hidden purpose to the individual, as well as the overlord. Know which doctrines are important to the individual, which they defend, and know more about them than you want to know.

Years ago, I announced to Wayfer family my non-belief in God. (Which, at that time, was kinda a big deal) Their response? "Yes, but, what do you think about The Trinity?" The stance on The Trinity was more important that an actual belief in a God, to a Wayfer.
