  1. Any chance Rico was being sarcastic concerning audible revelation? Just making a point? Everyone has known Rosie is a brick wall.
  2. From seven page doc -- "Understand also, that we are not going away. This is our ministry at stake and we will not go quietly into the night. Efforts to “drop from The Way Corps” those who are confronting this leadership dilemma will no longer be acknowledged." They intend to splinter. Like, in your thumb. Where it keep breaking apart under the skin.
  3. Wait a f'n minute . . . kids in The Way were allowed to communicate back then?
  4. You're right Skyrider. His statement is unclear and confusing. But God is not the author of confusion.
  5. "If they cannot answer a question they will be able to contact me for further insight from God's Word" It's too bad God's Word isn't written down somewhere where everyone can access it. Thankfully, this man has a heart to serve.
  6. I'm surprised to hear some folks on that list are still standing. These types of letters are nothing new. I watched at least one couple on that list try to stop letters like these as TWI splintered after LCM's fall. Probably the only reason there's such a list of names now is that the there's no rank and file left to speak up in place of Way Corps.
  7. Can a believer believe so big that they can believe for a rock that even they can't believe to lift?
  8. People use cults as much as cults use them. It is very likely someone is using TWI to justify their current course of actions. In which case, learning more about TWI will change very little.
  9. So this outsider comes and attacks a community's identity and tells them the burden of proof is on them. I can see the pitch forks . . . "here's your proof"
  10. PFAL is piracy. http://www.empirenet.com/~messiah7/rec_geerclone.htm You could subscribe to these guys:
  11. Thanks Skyrider. That is interesting that it was originally a star. I'm sure he was trying to enter into his own flow-charts. Like becoming the triangle in the great principle.
  12. Sure. The backgrounds in the auditorium were switched from the way tree/bible to the pentagon depending on the meeting (corps vs everyone else). The corps obviously have superior knowledge to the rest, VPW may have wanted a freemasonry-like symbol.
  13. TWI was clearly gnostic. I remember Donn@ Martinfail teaching clearly that the spirit realm was more real than the chair you're sitting in. Two-thirds of our being is lesser than our spirit-third. Thus wayfers ignore the five senses, emotional input, and seek to completely control the physical realm. Wierwille plagiarized, but what type of works? The most common symbol of Christianity, the cross, was seen as evil. But the holy spirit dove was everywhere. The only other symbols that come to mind are the pentagon, or inverted five point star, and the open bible on a tree. Did he steal that idea?
  14. Googling "Way Corps Pentagon" came up with pictures of Donald Trump and the Secretary of State. But I also found this: http://waycorps.ning.com/main/authorization/signIn?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwaycorps.ning.com%2F Which shows a five-pointed star. I remember a pentagon. Not a star. A pentagon with Apostles, Prophets etc. From a list, in a verse or two, from the Bible. Here: Pentagon Is there any known history as to why a pentagon was used? Does there happen to be a more symbolic reason for this?
  15. I don't agree this is a good analogy. I agree there is no "static recipient of information". A qualified physician today may not qualify as a physician many years for now, because information grows, training changes. What counts as a physician is in constant change. A person has to decide to do what is necessary and make changes to be called "physician" and submit to those who decide on such things. And keep at it, or that will change. Information is infinite. There's no point, and there will never be a point where you can say, "Ok, all the holes in knowledge and perception are filled" god / no-god is a back-and-forth discussion that goes on forever. IMO. We call or think of ourselves as atheist or theist or agnostic as a matter of decision at specific moments in time. And we're always free to change our minds. We may have started out assuming what we have been told to be true to be true, and then realized later that the alternate views are just as valid. Another thing is using the Bible to argue against Christianity. I agree the Bible is loaded with fiction. But fiction is a real tool for dealing with real life. From this book. "I had to believe now that the Bible was written by men inspired to write about God, and sometimes these writers got it wrong" . . . Many do believe that the Bible being full of non-factual information does not necessarily disprove the source of its inspired purpose.
  16. If you believe there are an infinite number of alternate universes, any noise is a language somewhere.
  17. The purpose of Speaking in Tongues is to loosen people minds, or, reduce critical thinking enough that they will accept TWI doctrine and direction. It aids in building non-coherency. It is a sign to the unbeliever, to walk away, now.
  18. like in the video above . . . You could argue . . . if you are good and throwing sounds around to fake language . . . you can be good at throwing points around in English to sound like you are being logical . . . and making points . . . as in a teaching in TWIG . . . jumping from verse out of context to verse out of context . . . but with enthusiasm . . . en theos . . . you know what I'm sayin' . . .
  19. I had thought for a time people who'd never heard SIT would be impressed. Isn't that why we're trying to get them to TWIG? To be wowed by what we take for granted? . . . what? . . . THAT didn't impress you? . . . I must have kalyunta'd when I should have lo shunta'd. . . . yeah, THAT's the problem . . .
  20. Raf, As you describe the video "How to Pray in Tongues", I would call that bullying. Someone else might call that love. Or tough love. So which is it? If SIT was proven true, or not, would that decide which it is? (Bullying or Love) . . . Probably not?
  21. I think it entirely relates to why we argue about SIT. Or, why we don't argue about SIT. Meaning I intended it as on topic, if that was issue. But yes clearly their is another conversation here. That conversation appears to be about God of the Gaps. Also, of doubt. Which I feel is best illustrated by infinite nature of fractals.
  22. With disease, I chose "my faith healed myself". I think there's something more subtle there . . . I understand you are looking for a more testable framing.
  23. Some people see a sunset and see God. Other people see a sunset and ponder Raleigh scattering. "Proving" SIT might change atheism for you. It won't for me. Perhaps my reasons are different. It is noteworthy the refusal to use the word "lying". SIT is a small point. "I'm speaking in tongues" . . . "no you are not, because I am not" . . . "you are not, but I am" . . . "no you are not, you are just claiming to be" . . . "that's just you're perspective, you don't know me" . . . "well I'll leave you to your fantasy, peace" Kind of a bigger deal with say, disease. "I'm healed by my faith!" . . . "no you are not, go see a doctor" . . . "you can't make me" Or you know, how government works. That's politics. We don't talk about that.
