  1. It's not a stupid question since it asks how you are reading it. Why would the bible say God is the source of objective morality? (assuming it really does)
  2. I just don't fit superheroes into evolution. Maybe you've figured that one out.
  3. Ok. I can understand why this thought would be thought because I did it too. PFAL's criteria? . . . think on that Something like The Bible has been around so long. It's survived generation after generation and war after war. PFAL has survived what? As a non-christian, I certainly think The Bible deserves a little more respect when being questioned and is not in the same boat as PFAL.
  4. Or, the abstraction of the collective subconsciousness of a thousand generations is wiser than even a number of conscience wisdom.
  5. Correct as I understand. VPW's abuse of substance would have relatively, permanently screwed up his wiring. He was an evil robot. LCM did not use drugs or alcohol like VPW did is what I understand. But, he learned to be motivated by what VPW taught him. Later . . . In an STS, LCM would shout nonsense, people in the crowd would clap and cheer. Nonsense was celebrated with positive reinforcement. Which would affect both the speaker, LCM, and the every individual in the crowd to some degree. Their minds would then associate garbage with good. (Unless they resisted).
  6. Maybe . . . The thread itself looks back on Genesis and asks silly questions. IMO. There's at least a couple of natural reactions to that. 1. Generate nonsense to give answers to nonsensical questions. 2. Toss out the whole book as nonsense. It can't answer silly question so it must be garbage.
  7. https://www.google.com.mx/search?q=how+dopamine+works&rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS751US751&oq=how+dopamine+works&aqs=chrome..69i57.4231j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Just trying to understand what was seen and how to undo it.
  8. I wonder how much TWI doctrine can be attributed to literal drunken rambling. What little teachings I've heard by VPW (and his classes) he did generally force claims. IMO LCM was also forceful, clearly. I don't know that he has the reputation of being under the influence of anything. But LCM was a follower of VPW fairly young, right? I gather he was a reflection of cult processing.
  9. There's systems in our heads that release dopamine when we achieve a goal. It feels good. It also causes our brain to reinforce memories or circuitry that lead up to that event. So that's it's easier to repeat later. This is a good thing and natural for when you work hard toward a goal. A lot of drugs hijack that system to give immediate reward. The mind immediately reinforces circuitry leading up to that event, such as where you were, who you were with, what you ate and did. If you see any of those people, places or things later, you feel the strong need for that drug. Makes the drug hard to quit. Between love bombing, sleep deprivation and other things described on this site you've got a number of ways to hijack the system. They rewire heads. One way our reality gets framed is social reinforcing. One person says "these figures of speech are so deep", next person agrees excitedly, dopamine hit, the problem is reinforced. (Disclaimer: This post may or may not be mescaline induced rambling. Probably not. Maybe just rambling. Probably)
  10. Okay, Adam? (not humans) . . . can I infer there is more to expound on? (I think I've heard of JC as the second Adam)
  11. Apparently, if you take mescaline, one thing it does is make things of little significance super important. When we first encounter something, like a coffee cup, we might find it interesting. Over time we understand it, have a memory of it's purpose, and don't really notice them or don't really become excited by their novelty when we see them, along with countless other objects. Mescaline sort of stripes people of that memory . . . and everything becomes super interesting. Which might be fun but isn't practical for survival. Just thinking of that in light of Waybrain. Things that had no significant meaning to most were significant to the Wayfer. Having Waybrain is like being on drugs? edit to add (which is shown in that silly book description, IMO)
  12. You're saying humans were/are a replacement for Lucifer's original position. God somewhat jokingly, uses earth to make us. (Which I agree IS humorous for God to do :biglaugh:) (we disagree on weather Lucifer loved himself or his ideas more, that's okay for now) I was thinking of our present population of humans trying to get back to Eden in a sense. (Sorry if I mixed up our understanding here) . . . I don't really think that's the right motive.
  13. I think there's an interesting issue in here. Are abstract concepts object or subjective? Particularly when dealing with larger groups? Of particular importance to keep in mind, is God the concept invented consciously or subconsciously?
  14. Grace, you do have the option to play chess, lose, badly, and go on living to play games you do enjoy.
  15. There's a further dynamic. The evil genius. The mad scientist. Wormtongue. Nerdy is equated with evil . . . there's a danger there. Who's the real bully?
  16. Similar thing happened with Hitler. He spoke grievances to a large audience, the crowd applauded. Nobody, can resist that, his ego grew. Our interactions with others do affect our reality.
  17. Grace, VPW picked on those who didn't understand what they were doing. (This thread is about 6 years old now, I may have struggled to articulate a point) That he was allowed to do so. Was it because the legal system was insufficient and unaware? Or a price of a free society? Should the focus be on VPW as sly tyrant or the individual as inept? VPW himself appears to have gotten away with his actions. But maybe that's the wrong questions to ponder.
  18. okay, we'll assume that's true but that's a view that we're currently trying to get back to something, reclaim something?
  19. Individuals and groups can understand something, without being able to articulate what it is. Some view the Bible as a process of articulation . . . as clarification occurs over generations deeper understanding is still in need of articulation . . . a process that goes on forever. Clearly, Adam and Eve didn't have the whole picture to begin with, and never did.
  20. The jumps between emergency shouting and mundane monotonous tasks is evident in the posts. TWI thinks of it as "dynamic" . . . like real deep understanding of change Jumping between extremes is not a sign of skill or understanding.
  21. See, you ask some important questions, don't answer them . . . and then jump to unimportant questions, and get consumed by those.
  22. What happened was this. LCM frequently made claims and shouted "If I'm wrong, I'll eat the book!" . . . and things of that sort. Books are made of paper and that is loaded fiber. Quite hard on the human digestive system. Naturally, Mother Nature called and purging just exploded into everyone's reality.
  23. I think there is a good point though. We DO know things we can't explain.
  24. Human expression is what is being mocked in the thread. If the flood didn't happen, there's no truth to the story?
