  1. LCM had good reason to feel threatened then. CGs superior example of believing must of been something to behold. His actions must have really drove LCM to look outside himself and grow spiritually. See, that's how spiritual competition benefits everyone.
  2. If you read the POOP paper it strongly implies he wanted them as adversaries and played the victim about it. So, I guess we should feel bad for him, from a spiritual perspective. P.S. POOP spelled backwards is POOP.
  3. Gods arise from from nature. They are a naturally arising tool and product of evolution. Looking at VPW's works and realizing he was a bad guy is one thing. Doing that toward a god is another. It's a move toward "reason" and Totalitarian Rule. His question "Are you more moral than Yahweh" sidesteps any practical application. It's a real danger.
  4. If you were Mother Nature, would you allow sea otters to rape baby seals to death? Why the hell not? YOU are more moral than reality.
  5. See kidz . . . Debil Spurt influence. Slippery Slope Arguments. There may be evil acts done in the name of religion . . . but don't throw all religion under the bus. Definitely don't pull one from thousands of years ago and make moral judgement against it. They have a place in the progression of history that we should appreciate in context.
  6. I said your not putting anything in context. Like others have said. Nature is chaos. Law is order. Think about it.
  7. The Law apparently has a provision for killing someone for picking up sticks on the wrong day. Most people would not do this. They would think it silly. Does that make them more moral than Yahweh? NO. Because, How would that make anyone more moral than Yahweh? What has been established to equate disgust with a provision in the Law with a superior morality?
  8. God: Get out of Eden, Life's gonna suck Life: Yup, it's gonna suck Queen of Hearts: You've got to run fast to stay in the same place, off with their heads Mother Nature: It's gonna suck Raf: We are more moral than Yahweh
  9. You have to be delusional to think you're more moral than Yahweh. It completely ignores your own human nature. You believe you're not capable of genocide? You think because you haven't done it indicates a measure of morality? Because you fail to imagine scenarios in which you'd do horrible things, that's an indication of morality? You haven't cited a verse showing Yahweh worse than what happens in the modern world, anyway. Did Yahweh torture before killing? Just curious. I'm just putting the goal posts back where they belong. Look with your eyes, Bud. Shall we start with genocide, sticks, or rape?
  10. Subject vehemently refuses to show practical relevance of topic in real world applications . . . Also continued superiority complex toward invisible being that he denies exist . . . is it an anger toward VPW's betrayal? Something to fill the void of a lost Adversary? A shift to direct former Waybrain energy? . . . *looks for roaches* . . . Perhaps Waybrain is but a single manifestation of deeper societal issue . . . perhaps there are more out there than we realized . . . debils spurts . . . different only in name . . . the journey for answers continues . . .
  11. No. Typing with my thumbs. Each of our views is very different. Have to assume everyone has a spark of divine. Speech is an act of creation to bring out a better world etc etc. Part of the foundations of our current system is Yahweh among other things etc etc You don't like Yahweh because someone died for picking up sticks. Mother Nature and human activity today is just as bad if not worse. Is not Yahweh a reflection of reality that will never change?
  12. Because what wold a perfect Law look like? Every person on Earth would disagree with it.
  13. You've reasoned that if God is all-powerful he should have thought of a Law very different from what is written in the Old Testament. A better, perfect Law. Essentially, you seek perfect systems. If there is not perfect systems, there is no God. Or he is not worth acknowledging. That implies that free speech is an act of Yahweh. Because free speech is part of developing imperfect systems toward more perfect systems.
  14. A person should change with time. Their understanding of everything should change with time. Their view of God should thus change with time.
  15. On this thread, Yahweh is the name used for the God of the Old Testmanent, specifically the one under which The Law was given.
  16. Please explain. According to the Christians God is looking out for our eternal well-being. So the apparent harshness of the temporary Law is not to be taken to hyperbole. From the evolutionary perspective God represents the process goal. That star on the horizon one never reaches but continually aims and recommits to achieve.
  17. You've claimed to understand the intentions of a god. Which is akin to thinking the outcome of free speech can be predicted. If we're moving toward something better, are you saying it can be down without sacrifices?
  18. You've laid out two extremes and claimed one is superior to the other.
  19. This is our major point of disagreement. If you consider yourself more moral than Yahweh, you open yourself up to all manner of atrocity in the name of reaction to extremism.
  20. You have assumptions. Lots of them. Yahweh here is entirely Raf's literal according to Raf's usage. It's not from a more scientific perspective. Using human and pre-human evolution and psychological interpretations. If you accept Raf's question, that you are more moral than Yahweh, you will accept a lot of other mumbo jumbo along with it.
  21. Nobody is making the claims about Yahweh that Raf is in this thread. But to show the assumptions Raf made in order to come up with the Thread question are false, only proves his assertion. Personally I think it's more important to tackle the assumptions on which the question is predicated.
