  1. What we NEVER understood is that the ultimate in one's "life's calling" is to leave this world a little bit better than we found it. That could be as simple as rescuing an abused animal, working at a homeless shelter, helping the elderly who have no one. That is the heart of Jesus. It is simple and it's about giving of your time and talents to anything that is a blessing to others, or to your community. Amazing!
  2. WHAT????? VP taught that Paul was a sex pervert???? I must have been gone by then.....when in the heck was this??
  3. I've often wondered if Craig has awoken from his spiritual stupor. He's away from the mass adulation and servitude----and his driving purpose to stand on a stage for "all the world" to see. Craig was the ultimate coward----like "the man behind the curtain" who had minions doing his dirty work. Now, all that is gone. Is Satan done with him? Has Craig had a glimmer of reality, and does it get through? I wonder if he crumbles in silence...
  4. That is a very clear statement. I was always confused about the "hit or miss" results of applying the principles taught by VPW. My parents already taught me all the things that PFAL espoused about behavior and character. The rest of it seemed to enforce separation rather than chohesiveness and reaching out. I always loved the example set by Mother Theresa [i'm not Catholic]. She never said much; her life was about doing and giving, not about telling the world about what she did.
  5. I click these links and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
  6. Yepper, like the Heavy Rev they got about buying the Beta machines. Yep, straight from God alright!
  7. I think the CES/STF group support this same idea in their book, "Don't Blame God"
  8. The Trinity has always been a non-issue for me. I have never believed it and I really don't care who does. Nothing hinges on it----if it were so important, don't you think that Jesus would have stressed that he was NOT GOD??? He didn't----but he definitely stressed that we were to live the law of love, and teach all nations that he was THE saviour of men. What has been a real problem is that VPW made the Trinity an issue; that if we believed that Jesus was God, then our salvation was for naught----in fact, we couldn't be really saved. Says who?? If God thought the Trinity was so critical one way or the other, why would he allow the devil to make it so hard for his children to find out the truth?? Does this make the devil stronger than God? God made sure that holy men spake about what we needed for life and godliness. He made sure that Paul wrote in Timothy what was expected of a leader of the church. And yet, man has allowed all the pedophilia of the Catholic priests to be overlooked for years; in other denominations, there are adulterous men representing our Lord from the pulpit, but no one seems to these a glaring issue. I always go back to the idea of God as a loving parent. Many of us understand that because we are parents ourselves. We do every positive thing to ensure our children's success. If Trinity was a big deal to know about, why wouldn't God reveal this all over the bible---either figuratively or literally?? I'm sure there are those who disagree---so be it. When I hear the Trinity taught, it's just another aspect that I don't believe---just like I don't believe in God calling upon "sister death" [yep, heard that one at a funeral once] the "laws" of tithing, of believing, needs and wants parallel, yada, yada.....! "Love God first, and your neighbor as yourself. On these two hang all the law." "Jesus---there is no other name upon which to be saved." God made this simple enough for the simplest to understand.
  9. Tithing isn't important---it's GIVING that's important. When I discerned the difference, my heart and life took off. Tithing is a manipulation of men, and it's not biblical. I often get concerned about the youth of America (and those in my own family]. So many are bored, non-productive, and dull-minded and I think it's because they've been taught to be takers and to be entertained. It doesn't seem to occur to them to get involved--- which is a giving of oneself. Life truly sings when we just pitch in to help, in whatever form that takes!
  10. Craig not only lost all he had in TWI, but because of naieve hero-worship, he substituted VPW for his own father. I knew Craig early on; he had ambitions, but compared to my upbringing, he was a simple small-town boy. He wanted to be right----maybe a holdover from his jock days. But I remember he had a good relationship with his family. It became more and more eroded under VP's tutelage. I have no idea what kind of father Craig was to his children, but it couldn't be good, considering how distorted his brain became. Here he is in mid-life, staring at the fact that not only are his riches and position gone, he's lost time with family and friends can never be regained. It's just sad----for anyone. Even though he's brought it upon himself, it's sad.
  11. When I've been involved in training my dogs, I spent time with concentrated focus on the behavior I was trying to elicit. that means that I would give a word or command, watch, repeat, watch, repeat, reward, repeat, watch, repeat, and reward! There is a lot of repeating that goes on until the good behavior becomes second nature. That takes time and it takes as long as it takes. And there is a lot of reward too. A tug on the leash is about as heavy handed as I got, but that tug plus the command would give him the direction with reinforcement. Most people, when they "spank" usually do it in a REactive mode with anger. Training or raising children or animals is in a PROactive mode. You should be training in a positive approach, rather than an approach where you lie in wait just to strike them and get them to submit in fear. I used to think that VP should feel the whack(s) of a wooden spoon on his bare hiney! And, a spoon with holes in so that there would be no wind resistance!
  12. It wasn't just WayDale and GSC that exposed TWI. Rev John Juedes had been tracking them for over 20 years on empire.net and writing about all things affected by TWI including the offshoots that evolved. Here's his newest home page: http://www.empirenet.com/~messiah7/Homex.html
  13. "The wrong teachings were so wrong that that it leavened the whole loaf." YIKES, that's the first time I ever considered that idea! Talk about being so brainwashed that many of us forgot that scripture when considering the source!
  14. It sounds like TJ is doing what we all said was what we wanted--- A heart-felt apology. There's not much more he can do; they certainly cannot undo the hurt they caused. But if his apology is genuine, then Praise the Lord and let's move forward.
  15. Hmm...I wonder if this production is ever shown at HQs? Or at least until a time before he was ousted. His poor kids; to watch that clumsy oaf in tights.......gag.
  16. Serious question: like everything else, did VPW just "wing it" when he decided to give names to that long list of debbil spurts and their function? I recently came across the word Leviathan and it triggered those memories. Leviathan is used [in the real world] when speaking about big ships, or a coiled being [snake, dragon etc]. I still have my AC and DWA syllabus and opened those sections and there were spirits with their associated duties. What the heck?
  17. I no longer believe it is my responsibility to convert anyone. I no longer argue about God, the Word, or Jesus. I've stopped "witnessing with a purpose" as in-----purposely accosting someone in a park. My greatest witness to men is my life and my heart for others. Bear in mind that at times, this includes my short comings, my human nature, and my faux pas---and that's ok.
  18. On another thread, someone stated: That made me wonder if any of the well-known offshoots are growing? When I joined TWI, I was fascinated by the unfolding of the bible, and the ability to read it for myself and understand it. Plus, the fellowship of the believers was awesome. So many churches today are doing this very same thing, plus they have other activities aimed at ages or circumstances [childrens group, 20-30 yr olds, grandparents, retired, young singles, mid-aged singles, etc.]. It would seem that the offshoots are not offering anything different that community churches already have in place. So, why would anyone be attracted to an offshoot of TWI?
  19. Keep meticulous notes on a calendar. If you end up having to speak to the HR department or use legal means, this history will become critical to show a pattern of maliciousness, hostility, and maybe harrassment. My brother faced this same situation and his documentation worked in his favor. It showed malice aforethought along with how often and how varied the hostility occurred. The person in question was moved with the express notice that if this situation came up again, they'd be let go. And...they too were within the definitions of "politically protected."
  20. ["]Sorry Rejoice, I don't agree with that statement. There were alot of leaders who really cared and loved the people whom they endeavored to minister to. My LC was one. I know that there were many who were definitely self serving. But many who were not, my LC being one of them... [/"] Oops, sorry Johnny! When I made that statement, I was referring to the Corps notes and all the blather from CG and LCM. Lots of reference to "they have issues", but no one ever said what those issues were. Then another reference to "they're still lying because they said they'd change but they haven't," alluding to CG and LCM and the other top leaders having so much "in depth spiritual perception." My point was that these top guys weren't liars because they hadn't changed yet, they were liars about everything for years. I knew many wonderful Way Corps believers, and---I was in the Corps too.
  21. Reading all that just makes me aware at how unbelievably SELF serving ALL the leadership was, how SELF important they all acted. Why would God want anything to do with any of them? God works with the humble ones-----which likely would have been the lowly little believer. I was also apparent how both CG and the ones who wrote the clergy letter----the only one they ever quoted was Dr Wierwille-----not any other current theologian. That shows how brainwashed they were; to only quote one human being.
  22. Apparently, THE WAY CORPS is listed on Classmates.com with 11 members! http://www.classmates.com/cmo/reg/college/...egistrationUser
  23. Hmmm.....my bible doesn't say to "...mark and avoid them....FOREVER!"

    Obesity in America

I was fascinated by the book "Going Against the Grain" by Melissa Diane Smith. She states that we were not supposed to be eating grains in the form of flour; it's like dumping sugar straight into your system. Those carbohydrates in grains are causing heart disease, thyroid disease, cholesterol problems, and blood pressure problems, not to mention the weight problems. In biblical times, grain was stored for times of famine, and even then, man didn't have the industrial roller presses that are changing the structure of the plant. The grain was either sprouted for use, or ground by hand. In our grocery stores, all snack foods, cereal products, and desserts are grain based. this book is an eye-opener.
