  1. Facebook is targeting the young, college age crowd. Here we go again...same agenda, same age group!
  2. I didn't realize they used an outside tour company. Has it always been this way, and will anyone from the tour company be teaching? They don't really say.
  3. Has anyone seen this book--- "2008 - God's Final Witness" http://the-end.com/2008GodsFinalWitness/?g...CFQv7agodMX9u_A We were always taught that we would not see the tribulation, but I'm beginning to wonder!
  4. 'Mark Clarke' In case you haven't seen this... (or if you have, it's appropos and still good for a laugh) - My goodness---watching that production, he looks more like a Dying Swan in lead-filled shoes rather than a spiritual athelete!
  5. I knew them long ago when they lived in California. Does anyone know where they landed??
  6. Optifast is the weight loss plan Oprah used to drop 67 pounds. She needs help again. I had great success [and quick] with a medically supervised liquid diet. You do miss chewing [anything] in the beginning. Eventually I added non-starchy vegetable soups [clear broths only] and salads to my lunch menu, with a full but controlled "real" dinner. If you do these plans correctly and completely, I find that they help a person be successful quickly to drop the weight. This keeps you motivated. All your other numbers improve; BP, Cho, Insulin levels, thryoid, etc. The biggest thing it helped for me was relearning portion control. We've gotten so used to supersized meals. I learned to control portions of calorie dense foods---proteins and fats. I also learned to limit grain consumption. [Grains are a problem for me, but not everyone---our metabolism is as individual as our fingerprints, so it's a trial and error to find the right balance]. Therefore, I limit all starch intake [including potatoes, corn, peas, rice, root veggies] to no more than 45 grams per day. I have a protein serving at mid morning and mid afternoon without fail; this keeps me from being famished at regular mealtime with the family. I do moderate exercise 3 days a week. I have kept the 52lbs off for 3 years now!

    teenage acne

Here is another product that is all natural...aloe vera, clay, and water. Scroll down to see this kid's acne before and after photos... I became interested in the clay treatment by Myriam years ago when I suffered from a severe bout with acne. My Uncle had acne such as this when he was my age as well, but he received no treatments. The difference today thanks to regular treatments is that unlike my uncle, I suffer virtually no scarring and you would never be able to guess the turmoil my face went through during puberty. I am still a customer and always grateful. http://tigerseyeskincare.com/results.htm
  8. Lynn still is evoking this story to add legitimacy to his own cult...afterall, "Dr." Wierwille would be proud of him. GAG, YUCK, P-TOOEY!!!
  9. Thank you Tom...I only wondered about him because of the post I read. I knew him long before he became what I've only known in print. His overbearing urge to be "right" tells me that whenever he made errors in life, they were always pointed out and he was shamed. When he was newly married he seemed very unsure of his own place or importance. He did state in a meeting that VP told him he should marry Donna...so he did. I thought that was an odd admittance for a college-educated man. He and Donna were married at her graduation, then it was ROA, then it was move to Emporia to be Corps director. They barely knew each other and next thing you know, they were parents. He had such adoration for VP and was so convinced [as many of us were] that VP had special insight into the things of God---and that was the hook that ensnared. I was just mulling over the thought that maybe Craig started out like all of us; just wanting to serve God, but somehow [by greed, lust, or maybe guilt over even considering that the great MOG was very wrong] VP got him to take the plunge into avarice. I'm not excusing anything he did---he has earned the anger and the isolation in which he lives.
  10. Did he bother to expound on the wrongful practices he employed himself?? I've never heard him openly say he was guilty of the same.
  11. This quote [in another thread] made me wonder if Craig has been able to change, now that he is no longer the worshipped MOG?? The premise is that he's no longer surrounded on a daily basis by a lifestyle that supported his nuttiness. He's been relegated to an ordinary life, and it would seem that the sky may be unclouded now, especially since his oldest daughter doesn't live within the fold. I have no idea what his other two are doing, but the oldest one seems to be living a normal and balanced life away from the compound.
  12. Would this mean that all the TWI offshoots are still cults?

My daughter swears by Pro Active. She started breaking out after having her oldest child. At 31, she continues to use it as regular skin maintenance, and has gorgeous skin. She also eats very healthy, with few processes and packaged plastic food replacements [as she calls our modern grocery selections] :P It has Alpha hydroxy acids to remove dead skin and allow healthy cells to "breathe", and it has Beta hydroxy acids that absorb into the skin to kill the bacteria. The stuff was formulated by skin MD's, who at least have training in how the body operates.
  14. It was in the Denver Post, but i don't know what the date was. I found this mentioned on a different link; Fall into sawmill kills Granby man instantly Granby, CO - A 32-year-old Granby man was killed Thursday when he fell into an old-fashioned sawmill, Grand County authorities said John Tuttle, an employee of Grand Lake Log Homes, was making adjustments to the 50-inch circular saw just before 10 a.m. when the accident occurred. "Basically, they were fine-tuning a sawmill that they had moved to this location. [#x2026] The carriage kind of caught his leg and caused him to get pushed into the actual saw blade," said Grand County coroner Dave Schoenfeld. Two other employees were at the new facility near the Granby airport, but neither saw what happened. Tuttle, who had worked for the company for three years, died instantly, Schoenfeld said. Oh, I just noticed it was published July 23, 2006 on this link. So it apparently happened a few years ago? 15. Funny how we weren't flagged by the word "Law." It would have been more accurately stated as the "Principles" of Believing, Tithing, etc. Jesus was the END of the Law!

    Can I share?

AWESOME !!! I wish the evening news would have a segment called, "Make My Day" with stories like this...at least one a day. it would make the news worth watching!
  17. Ooops, do they HAVE a LEGAL DEPARTMENT???
  18. The beliver links page has an email for him [scroll down the page]. It listed him in Dixon CA Don't know if it is current or not... http://www.believerlinks.org/blinkca.htm You can also try yellowpages.com
  19. Too Many of us 50 yr olds are experiencing this problem. it makes me get on my soapbox once again! Modern medicine says that the treatment is medication for a lifetime to thin the blood, plus a stent [that often clogs up again!]. "To effect a cure, you must remove the cause.' Two years ago, I had high blood pressure, was 50 lbs overweight, had high tryglicerides, and was on thyroid meds taking .20 mcg everday. I was eating a whole foods, vegetarian, no added fat diet [McDougall Plan], exercising twice a day and the scale and my lab numbers kept climbing. WTH???? In tears, I finally went to see a bariatric [obesity] physician who told me that starch/sugar carbohydrates were the problem---say what??? So, we removed those completely and in one week, my blood pressure returned to normal, my tryglicerides came way down, I lost 8 pounds, and my thyroid started to work normally again. I continued on the plan to steadily lose the 50 lbs, reduce the blood pressure and trigylcerides back to normal, and reduced the thryoid meds from .20 to .10 mcg! In the meantime, I found the book, "Going Against the Grain" by Melissa Diane Smith, and became enlightened about "whole grains" and their effect on many of us. Backed up by scientific research, professional experience, and her own health journey, Smith explains the surprising connection between a grain-rich diet and so many of the health problems plaguing us today, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, some cancers, fatigue, and digestive disorders. One statement stopped me cold---“Protect against diabetes, heart disease, and other insulin-related health problems” No one [not even my family doc] ever told me that the over-production of insulin had anything to do with heart disease!! Too much insulin has a direct correlation to high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I mentioned this information to my family endocrinologist, who poo-pooed the idea because none of the studies show this, and finally I said to him, "Well, the typical studies don't tell you this, but one thing is true---you cannot argue with my lab or scale results!" He said, "Well---you are right there." Today, I am judicious in how many starch/sugar carbs I allow myself per day. Like everyone else, I love pasta, potatoes, beans, and sweets, but I limit them to only 45 grams per day, if that. I shop for foods from the perimeter of the store, and buy very little packaged in boxes or bags. For me the change was easy because the results are so undeniable. I encourage any of you to read that book, see what she has to say and give it a try. BTW, one of my kids is diabetic and by following the low carb plan, had to reduce the daily insulin drastically. The blood meter registers the results immediately.
  20. Loved the "It-Getter" page. Your statement about putting a TWI spin on things is how they continue their "research." They read books by Christian counselors [like the books on Boundaries], and then expound on them. What is amazing to me is that they don't see it. JAL appears to be intelligent enough, but he falls far short in understanding the realities of life.
  21. I don't think of it as judging, I think it is discernment and then avoiding them as i warn others.
  22. nice enough guy, but still thought all his research was correct. He would discuss, but not very open to consider another opinion. Just my experience...
  23. Women don't have the same success as men because we bear children...have more fat, are made to grow humans and our hormones respond differently. Plus...we have much less muscle mass that naturally burns calories even at rest. And that's why exercise comes into play. Cardio, using weights, stretching are all good things to do for many other reasons besides weight control. I actually prefer resistance bands to weights---it is a very different feel to pull rather than push. The results are you build muscle with no bulking at all...something we gals prefer!
  24. True, but these leaders were active out on the field as well when they came to town. surely they didn't ask for a health clearance..and a person can be contagious before they have symptoms...!
  25. It would seem that with SO much activity on the part of VPW, LCM, HA, etc., that the very active upper echelon would have contracted something! So many people from the hippie movement developed herpes which isn't life threatening, but lasts a lifetime, requires drugs to manage it, and if your immune system is really weak, it can morph into Hep B [that's also not widely known]. VP recruited so many hippie kids because of their free love philosophy, so it would seem logical that he would have contracted some form STD.
