yeah... so WHERE ARE YOU DUDE?!?!?!?!
  3. I think you are right on this WG. Faith doesn't require a class or a syllabus. It requires trust and action. It was simple you were in a situation, God told you something wasn't quite right and that this guy intended harm towards you, you trusted His word and then you acted. Simple. No big formula. Just faith in the promise of God. Discerning of Spirits seems fairly simple to me. The ability to tell one from the other of more than one kind of spirit. Devil spirits may have differnent functions, they may not...dont know...dont see a reason to care. Devil spirits in my opinion lump into one thing, bad. Good spirits, like holy spirit or Angels can be discerned as well. Like when you are in a position where things are dicey and instead of hearing "this guy means you harm" you hear "this guy's ok, trust him". I've had it go both ways and when I listen things turn out just fine. The ability of course comes from God through the holy spirit that we get when we are born again. The AC made it all sound so very complicated and one sided...the focus was all on the bad side. It just seemed wrong to me.
  4. When I used the term "household" I certainly did not mean it as it was used in "Way speak". I was referring to a more general term that would be all inclusive of anyone that was ever involved in the Way or that was affected by VP's erroneous teachings. I still believe that we are the children of God and are also a member of His household. I dont really know how biblical that is, I never bothered looking as it just sounded logical that if God was the Father and we His children, wouldnt there be some sort of household? (I just dont remember and I could look it up now, but I really need to go and change a tire.) I certainly do not advocate that there are any other "levels" in the household other than Father, big Brother (JC not the bully down the street) and the rest of us children. From what I saw in the ministry VP exploited that term (along with a bunch of others) to "prove" the elite status of several groups or people. It was kind of like his "Father in the Word" junk. I never knew this was happening and it just makes me sick to think of the pain that many children and whole families endured. It was like you were being punished for reproducing. Sickening! I do hope that you have managed to mend some of the bridges between you and your son.
  5. That is a strange dichotomy isnt it? It was things like this that caused a lot of people to really believe that he was walking by the spirit. I never sat at the masters feet while in the Corps. We just listened to voices coming out of the walls.
  6. Dont worry about responding to me darlin' just have a piece of that cake for me! You know how I just love food... Happy Birthday Belle, have a simply wonderful over the top kind of day! And dont forget to drink a few Mojitos.
  7. Hahahahaaahaha Thanks! I can here it now, "You can't look spiritual if you have spittal just drooling out of your mouth...learn how to project!"
  8. Hi TG! The Verse that you quoted answers the first two of these questions. As for the third question concerning the logic of talking to God without "you" knowing what you are saying...mans logic is not necessarily logical to God. His ways are greater than ours so I try not to degrade God or what He does with my logic. But I do understand why you would ask that question. On a side note has anyone else visited any of the sites that are listed in the banner above this thread? Very interesting stuff...food for thought. Hi Ya'll! Hope you dont mind me crashing your thread!
  9. <_< Somebody start the fog machine.

    27? Holy Cow...er Dog!
  11. That's pretty cool. I was never a big Beatles fan but they were quite the phenomenon werent they?
  12. I believe that is the perfect example of using the Lords name in vain. But when you are there it really was like walking in a fog and how do you argue with a comment like that. If you are right...you have just insulted the "boss", if you are wrong you have just insulted the "BOSS". Bottom line is if you wanted to stay you just went with the flow and stayed as deep in the fog as you could...dont get into the sights of the MOG. What a way to live! "YIKES!" Darn right!
  13. Yes, I admit it I really loath mayo! Can't stand the stuff. So when it came on a sandwich I would immediately trade said sandwich for anything...even someones familia. Oh and deli meat? What was deli meat? The only meat we ever saw was in that Chicken concoction, Rev. Fart was a vegetarian so we had to be as well. Now when I got moved to Gunnison third block...that was a totally different story. Three of us ended up with food poisoning because of all the meat they served us the first day on campus. You just cant eat pork for three meals straight if you are a vegetarian. It will really mess you up! We ate meat with every meal...without exception. I think even the icecream was made from meat. You really had to search to find fresh fruit or fresh vegies. I know...bitch, bitch, bitch...
  14. Hey that concoction may have been horrid, but it was the only time we all got full at dinner, and with lots of cayenne pepper it was edible...and I liked those peanut butter thingies, they were the best part of the sack supper....so much better than those mayonnais coated sandwiches. (cant find the emoticon that pukes!)
  15. Many of us did...albeit a bit later than we "thought". The real crime here...at least the eternal crime is the one that seperated God from his children. Yes I believe that VP was all the things that DWBH said and I also believe that he druged, raped and otherwise ruined a lot of lives mentally and physically, but the eternal crime is his crime against the household spiritually. Some of our brothers and sisters have become agnostic or athiest because of the antics of VP and his little inner group. I know that not all that were in high places bought into his stuff and I know that many acted as filters for those "below" them. God will certainly honor their sacrifice. But VP's enablers will stand next to him and share in his punishment. Most of us entered into the Way Corps looking to increase our fellowship with God. We wanted to be ministers, teachers and pastors to the rest of the family of God. We didn't go in, as some people seem to think to become face melting salesmen for VP with a side job of washing windows. I personally never did the whole boot camp thing, or the "hunter training". (I shoot a M-16 for work now and let me tell you it is a pain. Darn thing is just a bit more difficult to shoot with any accuracy at a distance than the movies make it look. I prefer my 9mm.) As for boot camp, my LEAD experience was quite enough fun for me thank you very much. (That part of my story is on this board somewhere.) As Dooj said, our training wasn't anything like College. There was very little actual Bible taught to us. Our Corps got a lot of condemnation and brow beating. It was our believing that was responsible for VP's death (you can thank us later ) I guess my point is that the Corps program was never what we expected, but we kept trudging along hoping that we could somehow glean what we needed to become the minister that we wanted to be. For the life of me I cannot think of how the sleep deprevation, the small food rations, the lack of actual Bible taught, the face meltings and the general off balance feel of everything was supposed to make us more effective ministers. I just never got it...is that a good thing?
  16. Shame on you! No millet for you! And clean up those beans that is a waste of money! Oh and while you're at it you might as well count them because the guy that put 'em in the pot counted them first...you better not have lost any! As for your question, yes I was aware that there was a definate "pecking order" and those at the top were "privy" to special privilages. I did after all enjoyed the presence of Loy boys sister both in and out of residence. But I'm all better now.
  17. Of course it was a "lock box" kind of thing. Never speak of the bad that is negative believing dontcha know! Besides if folks knew about what really happened less people would be signing on the line. We didn't want to be lock stepping to VP's little cult, we wanted to be effective ministers to God's children. So often we Corps are blamed as a group for what a few fat heads did that hurt people. What people forget is the price that we paid for the privilage to be placed in a position to help. It was a lot harder than most saw or heard about because of the "lock box/ defend your fellow Corps" teaching. Lack of this knowledge or understanding of this knowledge still causes schism today.
  18. "If you just can't tell, give him a fair chance to respond. "If you feel anything when I hit you soundly in the head with a shovel, tell me.." Good advice to that poor little lost girl BTW. RUN! and dont stop till you run out of gas...or land whichever is greater. I wonder how many extwits ended up on the West coast in comparison to how many stayed in the mid west. Hmmmm...
  19. hehehe...silly squirrel! No really...did you respond to her? If so what did you tell her. I can't even look at the site 'cause my work puter blocks it. As for the youngster with the "what do you expect their old people" opinion...he'll be old some day and nature will let him know just how ignorant he sounded.
  20. I understand the desire to go home, even if it is TWI. That was the only home that she ever knew. But I would ask exactly what she was expecting to find. How did she view or remember home? If she remembers some loving, caring and nurturing environment I would wonder if she had been living with blinders on or was perhaps too young to really see the cancer behind the smiles. The bottom line remains that any organization that promotes hate and murder cannot be spiritually healthy. Maybe her "home" only existed as she remembers it in her own mind. She could be trying to return to something that didn't really exist and that is why she is having trouble finding it. That is what I would say to her, or something like it. I feel for her as she sounds kind of lost. Did you reply to her?

    For Pet Owners

Three cats live in this really nice house where they allow me to sleep as long as I feed them every morning before 5 am and keep the litter box clean and refill their water fountain (yes it is a real fountain) I am also generally required to share my meals and especially ice cream with her majesty Marishka the blue Burmese. The pretty white Burmese "Aroara" generally requires frequent and intense ear scratching and face petting but she is out on a poker run and I am beginning to wonder if she is going to come home. The final furball that is inhabiting our shared home is Tucker John, the little half Burmese (Mommy Aroara had way too much catnip while out having a poker night with the "girls"). TJ has had a rough couple of months. He lost his siblings to distemper and he had to have his shots early. Consequently after surviving a mild form of the disease which nearly killed him he now has permanent nerve damage. His hind legs dont quite work as they should but he compensates by hopping like a bunny and climbing instead of jumping and he cant walk a straight line for anything. So we call him our little "handicapped kitty", meant in the gentlest and most loving way of course. TJ is our little gift from God, after losing so many babies we were very blessed to have been given this one to spoil and love.
  22. That sure is a nice looking kitty. Cats do manage to get themselves into some really amazing pickles but with love and care they nearly always bounce back. I'm so glad that Twinky is feeling better.
