I was thinking about buying one on ebay a few months ago.... the price was too good to be true and it was a scam. The 828 is due for an upgrade soon it will go down in price when the new one comes out I bought the 707 when the 717 came out and they had reduced the price by about a 150 dollars

yes that is the one. It takes great pics. One thing i really like is that the body rotates so if you want to catch a candid shot you can hold the camera low and see the screen

Abi, If it is any consolation, I was working at a college in September. Specifically, we were helping students clean up their machines. One girl brought in a computer that she had just bought. I literally unsealed the box and installed anti-virus and spyware checkers. I ran both for the heck of it and the spyware checker founds about TEN problems. I did some research and found that that is very common. Computer companies put in "free software trials" that actually have trackers in them.

Krys, You say that you have TWO Virus programs. Which TWO? They do not cohabitate very well.

I've got the 707 Sony cybershot. It's replacement the 828, has a great lens but has some serious problems when you take photos at the full megapixel setting (8.2 i think) There is discoloration around the edges The 707 is great as well as the 717, but they are much bulkier than some of the other Sony models. The Carl Zeiss lens is a great lens.

I tried a Nikon digital (d-10?) a few months back and took about 20 shots in the span of about 6 seconds. The key to the speed is in the size of the pic you want (the larger the slower) and flash. Flash will slow down the process. The memory card will help also. When i tried the same camera setup and a slower card, the time almost quadrupled.

Well here is the scoop on retrieving. There are two backups one from the 20th and one from the 24th. The 24th one won't have the thread on it. The 20th will have it. The problem is that the resore brings the whole forum to the point of time onthe 20th, in other words every post made on this forum since the 20th would be lost. Now if Rick is a whiz with MySql, I made a back up last week. This might be a possibility

Satori, Your post count doesn't go down when I prune thread. You search count will be of existing posts. Although 86 is rather low. Infopop admits that their search feature is sorely lacking. The whole forum has to be indexed manually by infopop upon my request. It was indexed last week. And if you use the "author name", it may just be bringing up the threads that you started.

I have a trouble ticket into Infopop. We were attempting to prune some of the old posts and picked a date range that should have done that but it deleted the whold thread. I should find out in a few hours if it is retrievable.

You should see an improvement on Searches Only about a third of the site had been indexed. As of a few days ago the whole site is now indexed.

Norton Internet Security has been at the center of a number of problem computers that I have fixed. Since you have multiple computers, why not just get a Router. You can get one pretty cheap now. That IS a firewall and a hardware one. Most routers today will email you when you are getting intruders. Once you have the router, you will have little need for a software one.
