I just noticed this thread. When is this thing?
  3. act2, Have you tried downloading to your internal drive? You indicated that you are downloading to an external drive via USB. That can sometimes be a cause of missed frames. If you have room on your internal drive, import there and then move the finished file to the external drive.
  4. White Dove, I bring up the mission as a reference. The difference between Jonny's link and the others may be a matter of taste, but it seemed a bit too graphic and even crass for the open forum. The open forum is for other subjects. That said I always look at the mission statement as a means of deciding about content. I want something like the open forum to be for discussion of different things and a fun place to throw out different things. But Jonny's thread was NOT a discussion. Someone that may be looking for info on the Way might get offended by that. If you didn't that is fine. As I said earlier, it was amusing, but it was vulgar for the board. Many peoples' recovery is seated in the sexual arena. I would hate to offend someone searching as a result of copulating monkeys with overdubbed voices. I am not going to restrict the open board. Nor am I asking that anyone follow the mission. I was merely showing you what I use to make decisions. I rarely interfere with any threads in the open forum. This particular one was considered offensive by members of this community. We looked at it and agreed that it fell into a category of offending people.
  5. Jonny, I, personally, feel that as soon as you replied in this thread that changed it from an apology to a discussion. AND you made public who said what to you, bringing in a moderator that had the courtesy to write to you privately.
  6. Jonny, Are you apologizing or are you making an issue of it being removed? You aren't very clear. One post you apologize and another you defend it. I thought it was amusing, but it doesn't fit into this forum. We deal with adult things on this board. And will continue to have fun doing it, but in the open forum, that came across as too graphic. The bigger issue is this: Our mission is to provide information that tells the other side of the story about The Way International and its trustees. Our hope is that GreaseSpot Cafe serves as a place where those who have been impacted by The Way can make connections with people and information which will support their particular process of recovery. We don't have to be squeaky clean. But there are very few people that I would have sent this to in my private life let alone on GS Here is a case in point, Our political forum. It is not visible to someone that isn't logged in, nor is it visible to anyone that is offended by the language (if they let me know) That forum is not PG rated and we deal with it to protect the GS mission. I opened the monkey file at work and had to stop it so that my co-workers didn't hear it. Removing it wasn't about you, although you seem to want it to be, it was about the purpose of this place staying on track.
  7. It is a sad behaviour. My cousin's niece just committed suicide in the past month. Noone saw it coming.
  8. My IE7 works perfectly. Plenty of room for tabs; many extensions to extend it's capabilities; user friendly out of the box... Oh wait I'm using Firefox 2.0, nevermind.
  9. Would adapting these rules make GS a ... happier place?
  10. What did he do? Most of what he did in Europe, we haven't heard. There is a situation happening in Florida right now that places Geer in the middle of domestic violence. I'd like to understand. And venting is a good process. I won't make anything public without asking you first.
  11. Do any of you guys know about any letters sent out by the Way of GB about dismissing Geer? Geer is rearing his ugly head in the states and I would like something to slow him down.
  12. I have removed connerron's recent post. The content needs cold hard facts before releasing. Some of the allegations are things that I have never heard before even on the rumor mill.
  13. Heartman, Send the PDF's to igotout or to me and we will get them up and running. I am not a promoter of any groups. I did go to a CFF thing way back when. John knew who I was in relation to GS and we spent considerable time together talking that weekend. I don't subscribe to their teachings, but I found John to be pretty straight forward. I've called him and asked questions. He answers them. Maybe someone wants to take the time and hear it from someone that was there! I think it is easy to put a couple of "hearsays" together; create a posse and go for a lynching. At GS, we are always faced with airing opinion that is hearsay or just a flat out lie. We do tend to "let it ride". Sometimes it is good to let some steam off. Just make sure that you weigh in with facts, not just 3rd or 4th generation info that can't be verified. Anyway, I've opened it back up, Engage.
  14. I spoke with Rascal this week and got her to tell a few of her more infamous stories. We had a great time. She even managed to get a few stories out of me, for the future. Enjoy these stories. Intermission2
  15. Intermission 2: coming soon to a website near you
  16. I will add whatever is needed for various language needs. The new GS website will have translation built into it.
  17. This interview was a long time in the making. I had heard of someone that was still inside reading GS (certainly not the only one then or now) And I heard that she had been "discovered" by the powers that be at twi. I was flabbergasted at the lengths that an organization would go to find out who mailed an envelope to someone. It was the perfect illustration of the control that leaders needed to manipulate and keep people in place. I was not surprised by the actions. They just supported the cancerous mind set that permeates twi. The spotlight is never on the bible or God or Jesus Christ. Don't get me started!! Anyway I wanted to speak with this brave and ballsy person. We were going to meet, I believe, during a trip I made to Florida, but that was not to be. Much time passed and I was informed that she couldn't tell her story right now, but maybe someday. I was in contact with her via email and eventually by phone. She was a fiesty southern belle! She was hesitant about putting this into any form. I met her about a year ago and we had a good time at the weenie roast. She still wasn't ready to come out of the closet. By the way, she was posting under her current screenname. NOONE, except a select few, knew about this story and if they did, they had NO clue it was Belle. I approached her when I was planning to do GS Radio. She went back and forth about doing it. Finally it was an absolute NO. I respected that. I continued to line up people for interviews. I forget what changed her mind, but she contacted me and it was a go. I scheduled the interview for that weekend. There was some BIG Nascar race going on and I could only interview her around the race schedule. We started and the interview was lively and full of stories. I think we taped for about 3-4 hours. I told her I would call her back in a while if I had any follow ups questions. I was saving the taped interview (one very large 3.5 hour audio file). I don't know what happened but the complete interview was not saved. I did everything I could, but it was nowhere to be found. I won't bore you with the technical details, but I walked away with a mantra of "save often" from then on in. I sheepishly called her back and told her what happened. I had planned this thing, in essence, for years and it was gone. It was about 5pm. Without a hesitation, she said, "Well I gotta get something to eat and watch the races for a bit, but if you call back in an hour or so, we'll just redo it" I was flabbergasted that she would do it again. But she did. And I was able to have some "dramatic" fun at the right points. This interview shows the control that twi will exert, if we let them.
  18. Isn't Southhampton mentioned in a Beatles' song? Ballad of John and Yoko
  19. She looks an awful lot like Shirley Temple
  20. Rascal is someone that wants to tell her story, but like me is very self-conscious. While I was "testing" Skype to have multiple people online, I added Rascal to my normal tester Shell. The combo is dynamite. Rascal, in my opinion, is a gifted story teller. Being able to communicate a story effectively is a difficult task. She does it with ease. Add to that ability, the fact that her life has some of the most amazing stories I've ever heard. Shellon has a laugh that is infectious, it is like the drummer in a band. So I taped this strictly as a test and then realized in the jungle of sounds from IM's there was a great story. So I put it on warts and all.
  21. Firefox is updated very regularly. IE(internet explorer), save for the new release recently, was all but abandoned in development hell. Firefox adhers to web standards set for the whole planet, IE likes to set it's own standards. While all online apps will have security problems come up now and again, Firefox addresses them very quickly, IE does not always address things immediately. Firefox has 100's of extensions for it's browser. Extensions are little addins to customize your internet experience. For instance, Firefox has an extension that lets me see if I am being sent to a site other than advertised. If I click on a suspicious link claiming to be Paypal, it will let me know that I am indeed being routed to server in the Ukraine. Firefox is FREE and when you install it, it carries over all the necessary items from IE to make the transition as smooth as possible including your favorite links. Firefox is developed by the Mozilla company. The same group that made Netscape, one of the first successful browsers for the internet, that got it's life sucked from it when Microsoft used it's power to put it all but out of business. Try it, it is harmless to install and can easily be removed.
  22. I am relistening to the interviews. I thought I would give some thoughts about interview. I first met Chas in a chat room that I think Biker Babe was running at the time. She was still in at the time and just ready to leave. If I recall properly, we thought she might be a spy for the way. But she knew too much about good music for that to be true. This was during the Waydale days. Chas went through her withdrawal from the way in style. Her story as well as a few others in the Waydale days started getting me thinking about doing a website about being an ex-way person. And if memory serves me well, Chas was registered on GS on the first day of it's existence. She was the first on an ex-way site to get married to someone else on the site. I've always enjoyed chatting and emailing with her from music to our common Geekness with technology. She left TWI and returned to a normal life sans a few years of wear and tear that she will never see again and moves on. The interview that you hear is actually the 2nd interview. I had many problems with the audio not to mention being self conscious. I wasn't sure how to approach "interviewing". I wanted it to be conversational without me in the conversation. :) John Ruiz aka Socks was very generous with some music for the interviews. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that testing of the audio went on for months as I bought stuff and tried different methods. Bluzeman talked me down from the complexity I was making of taping a phone call. And Shellon had to put up with months of my calling and testing various programs. Although not a polished work, the content shows that there is life outside of the walls of TWI.
  23. dancing, Since Apple moved to Intel machines, windows can live on a mac without sacrificing speed. Apple has made a free app that allows you to install a copy of windows on your Mac.
  24. Larry Romaine's oldest daughter is getting married this month
