Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Winter 2006 Concert
pawtucket replied to ChasUFarley's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
About 3 to 4 years ago, Linda Z mentioned this group. On her recommendaton, I bought the CD's and have absolutely loved the music. I turned my whole family on to their music. 2 years ago, my sister and her family saw them in concert. Last year, my sister got me a ticket to their show. It was as Chas said. It is magnificent if you are already familar with them. As a new listener, you have to imagine the best in Christmas music as told through the eyes and effects of Pink Floyd. My brother got me tickets for this season and am looking forward to it. (There are two traveling companies) -
I happened upon a treasure trove of radio shows from the 40's. All of them are Christmas shows. I thought I would post some of them for your enjoyment. The first one is Fibber McGee and Molly. I've enjoyed episodes of this in the past and their Christmas show is also enjoyable. This show is circa 1942. I am amazed at some of the comments that they make are statements WE make thinking it is a new problem. Anyway, here it is. Fibber McGee and Molly

Some may recall that on July 8, 1947, witnesses claimed that an unidentified object with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well-known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and the federal government. However, you may NOT know that in the month of March 1948, exactly nine months after that historic day, Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., Hillary Rodham, John F. Kerry, William Jefferson Clinton, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, Charles E. Schumer, and Barbara Boxer were born. See what happens when aliens breed with sheep. This piece of information may clear up a lot of things.

Thanks for all the well wishes. It was a quiet day with some computer geeking. And I managed to put up another Rascal story too.

Well that someone (not you) while in admin mode would go to the c drive and DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS. Pick the ALL USERS folder and go to START MENU. Any missing elements can be dragged in there to restore the menu for everyone. If it is a menu for a particular user follow the same instructions and then add the missing menu items in their START MENU folder

Abi, You can download songs from iTunes at about 11.00 an album. You are allowed to make audio CD copies. It will automatically convert the downloaded file into a WAV file for an audio CD playable on most machines

Gloria Allred is great at getting "out of court" settlements. How much is Richards willing to pay to make this go away?

I have to concur. I bought the album on Tuesday and have been listening to it quite a bit. It is a VERY different album. I don't know that I would replace any of my original favorites with ones on this album, but I certainly have some remixes to add to the lot. For the avid fan, this is a big puzzle. You are listening to "Lady Madonna", for instance, and this familiar guitar riff happens in the middle. You know it doesn't belong there, and then you realize it is from "Hey Bulldog". It really is a celebration on a CD.

Let's put it in context. The Beatles agreed to let Cirque Du Soleil create a Vegas show based on the Beatles music. The show opened earlier this year to rave reviews. George and Giles Martin were given persmission to take all the beatle recordings and make a montage of music for the show. The music sounded good enough that with a little tweaking would be it's own record, loosely a soundtrack to the Vegas show. Beatles.com is doing a free listening party this weekend. So you can go there and listen to the whole album. I've listened to a good portion of it and it is a refreshing mixing of familiar elements.
