Your info is biased and not shared by all Larry. 'falling asleep' means other things to others.. If it is within you to even consider other things they will come. Like it or not.
-
Perhaps one should look up dieing, die, death and see what it actually means. Scripturally that is, besides the tons of info available at our finger tips that remain untapped.
-
Larry this is not cited anywhere. Why is dieing that day thought to be a bad thing. Didn't Jesus die and accomplish a great deal?

There was no 'fall' of Adam or anyone. Only progression. There is not any scripture that says it was a fall. It is a doctrine of men. The transgression of Adam had to happen. As well as what Eve did. Jesus didn't do what he did because of Adam but for us ALL. As well As what Adam did in giving his life for life. Without all subject to what Adam did. No one would be subject to what the last Adam did.

hmmm.... Cain a tiller of the ground, the charge to Adam also. Abel a keeper of sheep-beasts. -spoken to Cain.Sin-theirs sin in here? Interesting. Adam directly did what 'god' said not to do and received both the promises of the god and the serpent. Knowing good and evil, being as gods, to know what god knows. Apparently Abel still has a voice. And it is heard. Just some observations. Have some of us tasted of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? Knowledge is dead without works, if it is acted upon it father's results. Call no man your father-Jesus said. It's seems that no man fathers what Jesus is talking about.

IMO the Hook and Poison of TWI
cman replied to another spot's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
knowledge will never accomplish godliness or anything profitable to you and others(same thing) without selfcontrol, love, meekness, and a knowing of where the knowledge comes from one can have knowledge yet screw it up because of lack of wisdom though we have an ace in the hole Jesus Christ who will set things right in his time one can be schooled in electrical engineering for years but until there is hands on experience with electrical plans and implantation it's only knowledge without the wisdom to see it work so it is with the knowledge of god, faith hope Christ until it is seen it is only knowledge without wisdom which is dangerously close to ignorance and probably worse... -
for anyone interested in the greatest talking message program imo here's skype http://www.skype.com/ pm me or any one for the user name to connect with instead of posting it talkshoe.com has been great but this is for us too and can accommodate many people at the same time for conferences no moderator needed for either although Pawtucket has been and will continue to be a great one

Ha Danny, yeah, a serious lack of info here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah's_Ark There's at least a start besides Plato's ideas.

Why do yoiu think penguins were around then? And the flood is about the windows of heaven being open. Water represents the word of God in most places. There was twos and also sevens. Since you don't think it's physically possible then why not consider other perspectives of it?

http://www.google.com/search?q=buddha+jesu...amp;rlz=1I7GZHZ There are a few more people in history that have recorded there sayings. Easterners mostly, even Islam.

Thanks Roy, your perspective and knowing is needed as well as others so we can all be edified as the chapter elaborates on edification in 1 Corinthians 14. And open up those dark sayings to see the light they hold for us.

Shifra To explain the Godhead would be quite the challenge. The entire verse is not translated very well imo. 'ask their husbands at home' The home is always with you, the temple of God. If the woman is the Holy Spirit what is the husband? There are 3 on 'earth' spirit, water, blood. There are 3 in 'heaven' father, holy spirit, word. both in us, heaven and earth to bring us to Christ genesis is the beginning and the end as well as revelations the first and the last the beginning and the end yet we must get to freedom in Christ as your circle so shall a man leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife spoken to Adam the first time Adams mother-Holy Spirit the spirit gave Adam life and continues to this day giving life perhaps more or less of an answer but as you are, i'm still learning.....

Ever wonder why he said that johniam? It's a trick statement- "If you really feel you were doing better in life before TWI and THAT'S what you'd like to do again, go ahead and do it; there's no shame. I'm here because I want to be." Only giving two options. There are more then two.

Though some know this, I'll put it out here anyway. --------------------- "Say that Wisdom is thy sister" (Proverbs 7:4) "Wisdom has built a house for herself, and set up seven pillars" (Proverbs 9:1) Proverbs chapters 8 and 9 are in fact an extended allegory of Wisdom depicted as a woman. "Wisdom is known by her children" (Matthew 11:19; Luke 7:35) "Therefore also said the Wisdom of God, I will also send them prophets and apostles . . ." (Luke 11:49). In this text our Lord is equating the "Wisdom of God" with the Holy Spirit who provided Divine inspiration to those who wrote the Scriptures (2 Peter 1:21). He refers to Wisdom in the feminine gender. The Old Testament word for "wisdom" is chokmah which has the feminine ending. The New Testament word - in the Greek - is sophia - also feminine. In fact "Sophia" is the name for a goddess of wisdom in the Greek pantheon. It should be obvious that the Early Church, when reading the Greek Septuagint - the translation of the Old Testament for the Greek-speaking Jew - would have made the connection between that goddess and the Holy Spirit. Of course, a Gentile Christian would have known that the Holy Spirit was not a Greek goddess. Rather, he would have confessed that the Holy Spirit was the true Sophia in contrast to the pagan imitation. The connection between the Holy Spirit and Sophia is more pronounced in the Apocrypha. The Apocrypha are writings from the Intertestamental Period which was contained in the Septuagint but are not included in our modern Bibles. (They are regarded as deutero-canonical by the Anglican Church). For Sophia is a loving spirit. . . For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world. - Wisdom of Solomon 1:5,7 For Sophia, which is the worker of all things, taught me: for in her is an understanding spirit, holy, one only. . . For she is the breath of the power of God, and a pure influence flowing from the glory of the Almighty . . . And being but one, she can do all things: and remaining in herself, she maketh all things new: and in all ages entering into holy souls, she maketh them friends of God and prophets. For God loveth none but him that dwelleth with Sophia. - Wisdom chapter 7 (excerpts) And thy counsel who hath known, except thou give Sophia, and send thy Holy Spirit from above? - 9:7 In the writings of the Early Church, Wisdom (Sophia) is preserved as feminine (e.g. the Shepherd of Hermes) Jesus associates the "spirit of truth" with the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). Sophia and the Holy Spirit share identical roles (1 Corinthians 2:7-11; Romans 5:5; 1 John 5:6-7 KJV). Were it not for the masculine bias of later theologians, the Church would likely have acknowledged the allegorical associations in the Old Testament as literal theophanies of the Holy Spirit. -------------- 1Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. 5O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. 9They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. 10Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. Though the masculine will always be dominate, as the Godhead in the Kingdom within, is the man masculine enough to let the feminine out and reveal what she has to offer. To 'let your women keep silence in the church' is to allow the the Holy Spirit to speak when it sees fit, not when the husband says so. Control the tongue of the Spirit by the Spirit. The fruit of the spirit love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. No words can produce this, it flows from the heart. A word fitly spoken... and more...

Oldiesman, I don't believe you would consider at this time, nor was it handled well in pfal.
-
Heck it's right in pfal- "God says shutup" to the women. VP didn't even come close to what that section is speaking of. Yes TWI was degrading to women and men also. A hate group always turns in upon itself.
-
It's not talking about marriage in Ephesians. The husband is not a man, and the wife is not a woman, in the flesh, but it's about the mystery. Which will remauin a mystery till it's shown to you. And the woman will kick your ***, be man enough to take it.

IMO the Hook and Poison of TWI
cman replied to another spot's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I haven't read this whole thread but thought I'd say a few words. The hook and poison ... yeah... mathematical exactness and scientific precision fits like a hand in a glove keys to the word's interpretation contradictions in our understanding or translation An approach to godliness that is based on 'wisdom' of men. Could list more, but you get the idea, I hope. 'Thus saith the Lord' and the mind shuts off everything else. The worst hook and poison I know of. What the Lord does say is to continue to grow in understanding and wisdom. So 'Thus saith the Lord' changes as we grow in it, sometimes a completely new understanding, of what has been said and what is being said. Seeking wisdom from wherever it can be found. Hidden in the words of the living and in ourselves. -

what some are saying- http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls...+ascend+descend happens all the time to stop and stagnate would be boring -
Whatever? I don't want opinions, already got yours. If some don't want to use a computer then they have that right. I can teach them how to make good use of whatever they have. It's simple really. Just some people complicate matters.
-
Who's idea was it in the first place? Why would anyone want to expound on their ideas, when what it is is only revealed by one. Perhaps some pieces can be found in ideas of man, but not the whole, that much is certain. It is what is in man that cannot and can be seen. Though words and books enough to fill the world would not show it.
