  1. no, not at all it's not about different languages, imo and not what was taught in twi, or even close
  2. no one said anyone was perfect the 12 steps did not originate with Bill Wilson and he would be the first to tell you if he could
  3. I believe the bible in 1 Corin . focuses on the hearer. Not the speaker. Yes it would be a waste of time. I leave things like this alone. I mentioned my experience because it's not a lost art.
  4. it's not something i will offer proof about that would be a waste of time nor would i ask anyone to believe me that would be crazy enough to say it is not what i expected more
  5. Raf, all of that really depends on the one that hears the tongue. As you call, biblical-sit, not being understood or foreign. I would have to say that many did understand. It's only foreign to those who do not understand. And nothing bad about that either, for anyone, just sayin'. For me, modern-sit is the same as biblical, cause I've heard tongues and understood. Not that I'm special, quite the different perspective, that is quite opposite of what you are saying what modern-sit is. Anyway...we will all hear it eventually and understand the tongue of the spirit. In it's time.
  6. what is 'Biblical SIT' what is 'modern SIT' i don't see where anyone knows except for themselves for me, it's speaking by the spirit i suppose so if it was 2000 years ago or today it would be the same-if i hear it if i hear it today or 2000 years from today
  7. the burden of proof is the spirit's
  8. I don't see any diff in either approach. Allow me to sound the same, :) . Something as unprovable as some thing that is heard. Would require listening as the primary target.
  9. no i'm not upset at or with anyone i do understand what you are saying the aa deal helped me changed a lot of things more then i thought it would
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_steps a little about it the toughest step is number one even when one admits to #1 it's when they actually believe it and ready to do something about it the only requirement of AA is - that you want to stop drinking whether you still are or not anyway it helped me out of hell long enough so that I could think clearly enough to end the alcohol forever
  11. In reflecting on my experience with AA, I saw some "addicted to AA", in a way. At least they are not getting drunk and killing themselves and others. Some seemed afraid to quit AA for fear of going back to drinking. I don't know that for sure, but an educated guess.

  13. any gift without the giver is empty not full of it's intent to speak in tongues is a commitment to the hearer doesn't matter if it is understood or not the one speaking by the Spirit needs to have love with it as stated in 1 Corinthians "the bosom" is a very interesting perspective- of a state of being http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/?search=the%20bosom&version1=KJV&searchtype=all&limit=none&wholewordsonly=no about love and heart
  14. 'There is not one explanation or interpretation of any verse that has to be the same for everyone. God is with us in whatever perspective we see.' "As God is in what WW sees even so he is in what Steve sees or Geisha or anyone." One might look at these interpretations along with the others of 1 Corinthians 8.
  15. As God is in what WW sees even so he is in what Steve sees or Geisha or anyone.
  16. reminds me of 1 Cor 14 understanding has to work to get the intent which will not be seen or heard without knowing some meanings if they are not clarified in the words themselves i suspect that looking for the edification is a good start either words from a book or each other to find the spirit in the words
  17. With respect to Acts 2. What are you indicating or seeing in 1 Cor 8:6?
  18. Some good basics to pace yourself. As well as the methods used here to take it slowly. All these things can be experienced without guidance, or varied methods. But it may be needed because of what you may see hear or feel. It is about letting the Spirit guide you. http://www.onlinemeditation.org/
  19. I really believe you are missing what the 'fire' is and does here. Until you are in the fire, you can't draw any conclusions. Even then, the fire and you personally, is just part of what will be experienced. Christ will be with each of us in our own time. Your end of these worlds does not mean it's the end for everyones worlds. A common misunderstanding that everything and everyone will experience this at the same time. I don't believe this is what will happen. Or any 'total annihilation' due to the lack of seeing what it is to be destroyed...as Christ was.
  20. yeah, guilt, that's a sucky feeling I told my brother the other day he wasn't doing anything wrong. And it lifted a heavy burden off his shoulders. The subject didn't come up, but I felt he needed to hear it, and he did need to. There is a secret, and it is in forgiveness, but not how we were taught in twi. You already are forgiven. Even all the stupid stuff and mistakes we made. And you don't have to do anything to get it. You already have it.
  21. We, myself included, were serving the way, giving them allegiance and obedience. Why? We were trained to, mostly in 'how to receive' I believe. And the bogus teachings of forgiveness and fellowship with and from, what they referred to as God. But in reality, whether it was direct acknowledging or in the back of our minds. God was the ultimate Santa Claus, giving to those who "knew" how to receive or were in "alignment and harmony". Along with the rest of the bs that went with that framework set in pfal and more class after class. My observation and reflection when I think about it sometimes. But I don't think about it much any more, thankfully.
  22. Much freedom can be gleaned from taking this to heart. Thanks. Although it could be used abusively as well, one would see the difference when dispersed, I would think.
  23. not so sure about deflecting such attacks if i hear things directed at me or even in general, that is meant to to get a reaction from me somehow i still have to process it and file it usually in the burn barrel, or you might even say the lake of fire in my head and possibly engage the matter at another time, if warranted...i can wait to respond when ready
