  1. No to the question. I'm still a child of the one who could "come up" with me.
  2. As a father I want the best for my kids. That involves letting them think for themselves a lot, even if they are wrong. From my children's perspective I am both good and bad, depends on the day, or moment, or year. I am the thief, the destroyer and I give them an abundant life, as much as is in my power. As they have grown, they see more of what actually happened, and still happening.
  3. My wife and I made 2 sons. I've told them not to do some things and they did it anyway. And I've told them to do some things that they didn't do.
  4. I know what that teaching is, I disagree, I don't think that is what these scriptures are saying.
  5. To be clearer, I don't think anyone will miss out on the day of the Lord. Each person will have that day soon enough. I don't believe that this happens to everyone all at the same time, as those bible versions seem to indicate. And timing is not so important as the fact that it will happen.
  6. 2 Thessolonians 2: 1 & 2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Looks like these verses are speaking in the present tense to me. Although we were taught by the way that it was some time in the future.
  7. Vpw contradicted everything he taught. In the same classes and books. While teaching that it's Christ in you, he contradicts saying that Christ is not present now but will return at a later day. Teaching one spirit and then the giver and gift which is two, not one. Teaches eternal life but denies the resurrection. Teaches one body but splits everyone into categories of his own choosing.
  8. I'm really tired of hearing scripture used to threaten people. It's insanity. If anyone is even close to understanding 1 Corinthians, they would know better.
  9. Looks like they are just reading the book and too damn happy. Nothing "today" about it.
  10. lol.... are you yelling at me mike? lol Maybe you missed the parts in pfal that talk about what is going to happen to those who do not believe according to pfal.
  11. So, let's sum it up. You know, math. If you don't believe that pfal and the collaterals and vpw and, of course mike are not breathing out god's word then you are going to endure the wrath of god. Too funny
  12. Well, anyway, back to the topic. I've known some people that think the way it's stated in the first post. I don't know where they are now or their current state of thinking. Stayed Too Long has a good point to make, and to see, exaggerated or not. I think that in heaven forgiveness comes first, a super powerful forgiveness seen by few before they get there, and I believe all will get there. Love, this kind of love, is the most powerful force there is, a burning fire, a flaming sword.
  13. Yeah, true waysider. I've only just lately beginning to understand what those people were talking about.
  14. No, I'm not choosing any religion, but thanks for the offer, although I haven't asked the question. I don't believe the bible was meant to be a standard of living. It's more like a historical document, with plenty of learning in it.
  15. I'm not sure what "live a life that the bible requires" actually is, or that it's a thing to do.
  16. Telling people that they are not loving enough is not a loving thing to say. That was always said in twi, not loving enough - not believing enough, and other such non-sense. Adding stress is not an answer. Leaving twi was a great stress relief. Leaving twi doctrine wasn't as easy but it finally happened. I admit that some of it is still in me, and I think it's the good that happened. For long held beliefs to die brings an awakening that cannot be denied.
  17. well.... Mike, going off on a little tizzy? What is "God's Word"?
  18. lol, you so funny I'm not PMing you, but I will talk to you here. I suspect you have forgotten how to talk to another human. It's time to remember or start anew because that is where God is.
  19. I kind of relate to Mike in some ways, as I was pro-pfal at some point in my life. I could have a conversation if he wants to talk.
  20. yeah, I was here 15 years ago too, still you didn't post "from PFAL there were many pure things put into written form"
  21. like what? you always say that Mike, but never say what these pure things are
  22. There are no steps through reading material to take, no ladder of manifestations to climb. There is character, a desire to know in humble courage. I have learned what it is not, that's for sure. The way and many other experiences have brought out the best and worst of me, can I see it now? A little better I think.
  23. Trying to go from or one extreme or another is not a good idea imho. To say or prove that the pfal/twi experience was totally bad or good, is a waste of time. There was good and bad, just like most anywhere. Not much different than any other religion or cult or organization. As to the point of this thread, there were no good old days, or glory days, that are not any different than these days. There are still many people looking for answers that will be drawn to a good sounding bait and hook agenda. Started with the green card then session 1, "you have to know what is available to get anything from god", this is false, a lie and not true. And another hook to get you thinking you needed to know more.
  24. I doubt that I would read this book or any other book for that matter. Like most of Christianity, the Muslims go by a book and claim that Hindu is superstitious. I will not go to war against any of it. Why look for a way in? Or some type of answers? For peace I suppose. Some folks want to know and others could just relax a bit.
