  1. I'm not worried about death or much else for that matter. Why should I? Not concerned about those that sleep either, they will die and find out for themselves. That is comfort.
  2. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. and Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
  3. lol, both of you lean on these commentaries That's fine for you I suppose, not for me. Thanks for the info.
  4. Who are the ones who sleep in Jesus Who are the dead in Christ For they that sleep sleep in the night
  5. there is no "return" of Christ, there is a coming, that is different
  6. So, we are seated in the heavenlies, Christ in you, now we are sons of God, and all that. And then we have to take a nap, sleep, at the end of our lives until 1000's of years till we meet the Lord? Does this make any kind of sense? About love? Salvation? Saved? I'm not so smart you know, but I can see a few things....it has to be simple, easy for me to get it... I think it is
  7. I could not explain being born again; I don't think I could do it justice. It has to be experienced to even come close to believing it.
  8. That does not say everyone at the same time as time as we know it...
  9. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 King James Version 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
  10. slept-----Past Tense...awake now..raised from their sleep Now it's in the twinkling of an eye.
  11. here.... 1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
  12. Crazy fonts won't cooperate. So, no mention of a delay or long period of sleep. There is a word slept somewhere in the bible about the people before Christ came. I'll find it eventually....
  13. 1 Corinthians 15:21-23 King James Version 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
  14. I have admitted to no such thing, just presenting the ideas. I don't think so, they are very much related if not the very same thing.
  15. To die and then be born again....so there has to be a death to be born again... whatever born again means....to die before you die...first and second deaths... But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
  16. Not really, God said don't, so of course they did. Human nature, that God created.
  17. I think Genesis and Job are about the same story of man. The internal battle of Christ and the man.
  18. And who is God, who is the serpent? What are they? Where are they? The garden of Eden, a state of mind?
  19. I believe this was the whole plan anyway, that we should know good and evil and get eternal life as well. Daniel 9:24 King James Version 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
  20. And who says it was spiritual death? BS vpw for one. It's funny how Pfal has ⛅️ clouded clear thinking. God and Adam were still speaking to each other as well as many other men and women. I'm just not buying into the doctrine of spiritual death.
  21. The serpent was right You shall not surely die
  22. Salvation for one....forgiveness mercy...other such things...
  23. and yet Paul's writings keep saying nothing is by our works, good or bad.... How does this make sense with some of these other scriptures, like what has been quoted? Is it the works being destroyed or the person?
