  1. While some think vpw is the only one who taught this, they have not looked very far. It has been taught since the beginning and will continue to be. Looking up phrases such as - manifestion of the spirit manifestations of the spirit manifestation of the holy spirit manifestations of the holy spirit and also dropping the 'the' putting them in quotes will yield quite a number of hits that can be looked into the manifestation of the spirit is an inward outward movement of the spirit it can be seen or heard or seen and heard or felt in the depth of our soul it is not limited to our senses but goes beyond them into the supernatural a new ear and eye It can be a person even though some won't buy that but it's true when one is so into the spirit it just flows for others it's off and on no one is better then anyone else it's the spirit that's the focus much can be heard and seen it takes manifesting from more then one to get to another the fruit is light, that some perceive as darkness some see only what they have been taught while others have been taught to see more

  9. Hey Danny, Got any history and background for Thessolonians you want to share? ----------- And btw folks, this is why the living can contribute to spiritual growth more then letters from men who are not here.
  10. All of it is corrupted to some extent. That's why I question a 'return of Christ'. Which phrase is not even in the text. The subject of this thread. And though many believe this, I won't force anything upon them. But will put out things to consider. Consider that right after we die then the judgement. And we are in heaven. And judgement has nothing to do with punishment but we shall be changed.
  11. Well I guess you just know everything GreasyTech. No need for others to add info for you.
  12. 'Jesus' is a greek name.
  13. Well I'm not much on the history of the first century. But if a Jew hated anyone then there was no love of God there. And I'd bet these names would be different in different texts. Kjv new testament comes from greek texts. Therefore greek names.

  15. leadership position? i thought they were serving like servants the gentiles? not sure i understand the question according to pfal, there was a bringing in of the gentiles as i understand things, they were never excluded but that's a long story.....from me a twinkling of an eye from the Lord
  16. Thanks Roy, I understand. T&O, I believe Stephen said lord receive 'my' spirit. So who's spirit is it? Stephen's. Same thing Jesus said too.
  17. lindy, I don't get why you try to pin me down to something I haven't said. I'm not even going to try to straighten out what you have complicated for yourself. You are doing a lot of guessing as to my motives and intent and meaning. When it is very plain and simple.
  18. Hi RainbowsGirl What I meant by disproving is that something is disproved by proving something else. Or disproved because of it's fruit or other of a number of variables. What I didn't mean to imply was to prove and disprove the same thing. If something is proven then it holds it's place untill something disproves it. and whatever disproves it would prove something else. I'm trying to be as generic as possible and not get into a particular subject. Just how we understand, learn and experience wisdom.
  19. Me-Why not look for proof yourself? You-I have and do. Why do you think that I don't? This is the topic-Proof.... Glad you are..perhaps others can help. They have for me. But the proof was only to me, not them. They have there own things to see and prove to themselves.
  20. If you want to talk about religion, pick one. If you want to talk about believers, then a more specific understanding is needed. You brought in to the topic both religion and believers. Not Me. Plus you gave a definition of believers that I don't agree with. Which I informed you that i didn't agree with a standard definition. What part do you not know what I'm talking about? If you have to open a dictionary for a definition then you don't know what the word means in your heart. And I am not rushing any of this, so take your time in talking or don't talk. Either one. We should agree on the meaning and definition of a believer before speaking of one, don't you think? And I do not need religion to talk about scripture, God, Jesus Christ or any other words in the scriptures. I grow tired of being labeled religous, when I speak of these things. I haven't labeled anyone and you have at least twice here now. Religous and believers. the later of which I suspect you will NOT KNOW WHAT THE HELL I'M TALKING ABOUT. So I didn't bring it up. You did.
  21. Why would it be figurative? Why not really 'receive my spirit'?
  22. 55But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 57Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. 59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. How does one reconcile this with a supposed return of Christ at some future date for everyone at once.
  23. The problem with not believing Universal Salvation is that most 'christians' think that one must be perfected or 'born again' in this life before death to 'go to heaven'. The majority of christians do not understand born again or perfection. It has escaped any spiritual significance and been looked at through a carnal thinking pattern. Perfection is not a requirement for salvation and eternal life, and living it in good things. Matthew 19:16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. This man already had eternal life yet still could go further.
  24. Seems Paul was busy breaking up fights. Yet within the writings are some shining gems.
